129463, I should feel bad about this...

But I don't. Specifically because as far as I could tell you were trying to permanently kill my character with aging withers and then were a complete douche after you died.
Constructively, don't threaten people as a ghost. Especially not the person who just made you one...

129464, Wither aging isn't a real risk

I think one character ever got hit hard by it. You essentially need to eat a lot of attempts with near zero saves and still play 400+ hours. By and large few chars reach old age and most who fight shaman a lot gear for saves.

129465, That player is still made about that character, by the way :) NT

Right, Orb?

129467, Not entirely true.

Orcs are somewhat vulnerable to wither aging. Low Wis translating to tougher saves, and a particularly short lifespan in pure years. I've lost an orc to it, myself, and could pull out a few more names as well.

129469, Wither ...

I still maintain the ageing component should be removed.
Potential for - 25 str is enough. The potentially permanent lasting impact over the top that lasts your entire play time is not needed.
From a use point of view and I cant comment cause I didnt see the use. Tactically I would use wither all the time to cause when you land a good one not many people are keeping weapons.

129470, It's yet another random screw-you from the game
Posted by Murphy on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
But it only affects people who play to age death, so who cares.

129472, I come to OOC hate characters that spam wither on me
Posted by Kstatida on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Because I always perceive it as "trying to agedie me, asshole?"

Isnt the edge which adds -Dex & removes ageing pretty much every shaman now?

129474, I'm not an expert on shaman edges really
Posted by Kstatida on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I've seen the ageing echo more than once and it certainly didn't add positive emotions :) Looking back I'm pretty sure it added to my perception of Deldrach for example.

Languor of the aeons.
Mid/highish cost edge. Worth it iirc. Whoever had that due rear scarab & muuuuuuuuuksube & a few others of note took it
