129332, Muuksube Coldcrown has left da fookin buildin!

Graveyard is wonky, so this is here.

I had a lot of fun with Muuk. I rolled the character after failing to get empowered with Decima (and the ensuing fallout on the forums) and to do something "out of my comfort zone" and thought of all the things I had never done before.

Never had a neo shaman, never had a hero duergar, never had an Imperial.

I went sphere honesty, because Deo was one of the very few immortals actually empowering priests. This was a great decision, and one of the main reasons the character was so successful (IMHO).

So, Shout out to the Glacier God, Deormodel.

I had some incredible interactions with you as Adira, (as well as a short lived druid, Phen), and knew that seeing you from a different perspective would be really fun.

I was not disappointed by your religion, our somewhat lengthy discussions, or your constant presence in Muuk's life. I did my best to manifest the vision of truth and honesty that I had started with, and speak with as many people as I could about your way of truth.

Thank you so very much for being every bit of awesome I could have hoped you would be. Keep it up, because IMHO, you are in many ways, the soul of what CF should be. Immersive, present, challenging, and rewarding. Short note on rewarding, I know you had some cool things in the works, but I was surprised that the amount of RP I did at the shrine and hours upon hours with other PC's netting me very little imm-xp. Something to note post edge nerf.

Destuvius

This was my first cross-over with you since the complete nuclear cluster#### that Decima turned out to be. We've had other run ins as Adira when you unleaded my Nightreaver (IMO, because I made a post regarding you with Altrana, and the death of RP).

I had almost no respect for you as an IMM because of your various shenanigans, so I forced myself to try with Decima, and give you a chance to show me your RP chops.

As you know, that failed too.

I'm glad I had another cross-over with you as Muuksube. I'm super glad I wasn't dissapointed that you were every but as an evil bastard as I'd hoped you be. I really felt like I was dancing on the edge of anathema with every interaction with you, and I pushed as hard as I could to play the power game with you as the Imperial Immortal, and me being the Emp. It was very enjoyable, and I learned a lot about your 'style' from our interactions. I would have made a really, really good Destuvian Emperor.

Also, thank you for our little OOC chat re: alternative chars (read: Sif).

On that note, I had an alternative RP storyline where I disliked Destuvian priests and followers, that I would not promote them.. this never really got played out .. because, well, I never really had that opportunity. BUt it would have been interesting to see how aggressively you responded to that angle on Destuvian Order.

Empire:
Druci - I really wish you hadn't deleted. I had a lot of fun with your character and you were promoted to warmaster not once, but twice. I loved that you were so into the minotaur and being the warmaster.

Khormand - Just a beast. Was sad to see you go. Thank you again for all your interactions.

Golthazar - I had a ton of interactions with you as Adira. Dude, so much cooler being on your team than against you. Thanks for helping me as young Muuk with Deo's religion.

Naz - It was a huge moment for me when I got you to take over the place of Peppeni. I was a huge proponent of bringing in characters from other cabals, and I had my suspicions that you were a scarab for a long time. Wish you luck.

Glik - When you said that you were destined to be my warmaster, I knew exactly who you were at that point. Especially after the wry smile. Good luck and I hope you get what you want out of this character.

Eyesin - Keep it up bud, you are destined for con death, but enjoy what you got going on. :)

Rodacir - Good luck man, super long lived character and the only one with ties to Scion that I know of. Super cool that you have hung around this long.

Outlander:

Ardish - I loved our tension, and our conversation. Good luck being the senior Glacier guy. :)

Gwil - You are awesome. and I had some great interactions with you as Adira/Khyrrenthia. However, Please stop down and let another sunwarden come up. You play like 2 hours a week.

Nexus:
Len - I really love your style. You are what nexus should be. I hope you get rhyme so you can turn that cabal around. Oh, and my decision had very little to do with you.

Rhyme/Meter - Please delete or step down and let nexus come back to life.

Spire:
Congee and Seilonar. Please delete and let Tribunal come back to life.

Quin/Pistary: I had limited interactions with you both, but love the work you do. Every bit as awesome as I would expect from two (obvious) vets. Great RP.

Fort:
Sirelas - you were totally awesome. So glad I got to play opposite you. Great incarnation of the WelverinPaladin
Balgrum - We had some great talks.
Aiwin - Again, some great talks in the glacier. I hope you get what you want.
Ebri - Again, great talks in the glaicer. Fookin RISE! :)

Battle:
Izqi - you really stood out, and I had a ton of fun RP'ing with you. Good luck in IMM land. Shake it up a little bit, would you?
Karron -Shame you deleted, our little war plan would have been REALLY interesting.

Finally, Scarab

Wow, I had some pretty intense RP with most of you throughout Muuk's life. The line between the way I interpreted Deo's religion, and the truth of Scarab was super, super close together, expect with a few divergent points.

If I didn't have to abandon Deo, I would have likely defected and followed that Character Arc... just to see what happened. I guess I scratched that itch when I made Sif, and subsequently had to delete Sif.

Jeede, I've known you through so many incarnations (Adira mostly) and I was very impressed by the quality of your RP. Amazing.

Malchazzar, Venara - just top notch, quality RP characters. I wish you both longevity and success in your quest.

I'm sure there are lots of people who I didn't mention in this note who were all vital in shaping this character. Please respond and I'll be glad to respond to you!

You asked for it, you got it. Sorry about not replying before, I've been pretty busy with work and have had time for just about work, school, and family right now with a little Deo thrown in.

I liked your take and your attitude. I enjoyed watching you. I think I most enjoyed our talks. Yes, you did spend a lot of time in the Shrine and I didn't mind that. It was fun to see things progress. On the idea of progress, though, as a suggestion for everyone who follows me... I try to come up with things to make you think when you get to the Shrine to see you grow, but it would be even better if you came up with these things on your own. Muuk did that pretty well, but there's always room for improvement. So there's the constructive criticism for all Deo followers: Awesome followers, try to grow more.

As far as the XP thing goes, I do not believe in token rewards for xp, i.e. you've spent 200 hours at the Shrine. I want to see things from you. I am very open about randomly drive by xping my followers when I see them preaching or doing something outside of the shrine because, you know, the shrine is the place I EXPECT you to be on your imm follower RP. It's outside of there that makes the religion shine for everyone. If I didn't see you doing this, it could have been my fault (see above for the work, school, family comment) and I hope that I get a chance to see it on your next you choose to follow me. Well done.

Fwiw I think your approach of rewarding rp that is directed at fellow players when someone doesn't know they are being watched is spot on.

Otherwise it's just open to gaming the system.
129462, RE: Lerd Deo, whatsup?
Posted by Warren on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Awesome. Thanks! Love me some Deo.

I hope you keep it up, you are one of the very few keeping the ship right and if not on the right course, at least from sinking. So Thank you.

I'm not sure if it was on purpose, but your religion (and the Oak - although Deo is more open) is basically the only one left for priests to get empowered by. So keep it up!

To everyone muttering, "You don't need empowerment anymore!" Yes, yes, I know that priests no longer need empowerment to use their prayers, but, really, NOTHING has changed other than Paladins and Healers getting nerfed, and you still need empowerment anyway, so cut the ####.

Anyway. Thanks again for everything!

I'd love to see the current empowerment data.

129480, Re: Empowerment
Posted by Jormyr on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Currently there are 18 empowered characters.

6 Ignolmeer
3 Deormdel
2 Destuvius
2 Whiysdan
1 Scarabaeus
1 Jormyr
1 Ysaloerye
2 custom

Good is almost exclusively Ignolmeer, Empire loves Destuvius. Beyond that, it's pretty scattered.

Of the unempowered, there are 13 that are over lvl 20, half of them have never prayed at all, and no Immortal has more than two unempowered followers.
129481, Those custom empowerees...
Posted by Andrlos on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Are those custom empowerees pre- or post-empowerment change?
129482, Pre-change for both, I believe. NT

NT, I said!
129483, RE: Re: Empowerment
Posted by Bemused on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Stats are good (so thanks for that) but the way you represent them can also be misleading. You mention the extremes at the low end of the scale (unempowered and never sent up a prayer) but what about the high end (unempowered and high pray count or high time spent unempowered)?

Iarphine was 150? hours unempowered and 44 prays to be told that there was no issue with empowerment because if you exclude the "outliers" the AVERAGE looks fine. Sucks to be an outlier.
129484, You too?!
Posted by Warren on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Before Muuk I had Decima.. which I won't need to remind you how I got ####ed over.

I wonder what would have happened if that char didn't get shafted - would have been a very different emperor.

129485, Happens dude. My only empowered Priest had his immortal delete.
Posted by TMNS on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Always going to be tough breaks on CF.
129502, Totally not the same thing.
Posted by Warren on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
That is NOT the same thing as the Immortal being active, and just not communicating/responding.

The main reason I advocate picking the IMM that is active to be your deity is so you don't have to deal with praying for weeks without response. Don't pick IMM's that have bad track records so you save yourself the frustrating and grief.

If your IMM deletes, at least you KNOW he isn't going to respond and therefore, won't waste your time pissing in the wind.
129503, You misunderstood.
Posted by TMNS on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Palan was mentioning it sucks to be an outlier.

I agreed, mentioning being an empowered character whose IMM deletes (which doesn't happen often) left me feeling the same.

Nothing more, nothing less. Stop projecting broheim.
129476, But you really don't need empowerment.
Posted by Aereglen on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
It might be hard for you, a numbercrunchy powergamey cheater, to grasp that fact. It still holds true.
129478, RE: But you really don't need empowerment.
Posted by Warren on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Actually, you do. Nothing has changed with regard to empowerment. It is still required to play a "successful" character.

All that changed was you can now level up and have access do your class skills... except the ones they removed... but instead of them being full power, they are now nerfed for that access.

But, good luck playing your unempowered healer. :)

Posted by Gwildaththea on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
For playing times I'd estimate something like 5 nights a week 2 hours each for ten hours total. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but I don't think I ever missed an app who was playing for real. If a worthy warden comes up, I'll step down no problem, but in all my 400+ hours, haven't seen one yet.

As for interactions, they were limited and we didn't get to RP and to PK much at all. You wouldn't come to the tree to retrieve and raiding was more like three-four on one affair for you. Not a knock on you, druid leader at the tree is something you might die to, but some imperials did come up to retrieve and we had fights that could've gone either way, couldn't say that for you.

Hell, you even refused to retrieve from Fort when you realized I could be near even though I wasn't for like RL hour or two. Grow a pair with your next please. It's not like a druid has any real lag, you know.

Don't be offended I didn't take your summon/dispel/bash bait with Worthag too often. It's my personal opinion a good imperial should never gorpu with orcs, especially someone like emperor/sect leader.

The potential for a great char was there, but I just feel you didn't fulfill it. Random smite that did absolutely nothing was just icing on that cake. Hoping for a random kill perhaps if I got too low?

In summary, GLWYN! You're not a ####ty player like some we know, just have to step up a little I feel.

129367, RE: I'll take offense
Posted by Warren on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
You are right. We never really mixed it up too much.

The smite was just to say hello. :) I enjoyed our banter more than anything else.

And thanks for the compliment. But I won't have a next for some time. :)

129368, RE: Muuksube Coldcrown has left da fookin buildin!
Posted by Warren on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Haha. I have no idea!

I never had a gold dependent character before and never in 20 years have I ever farmed gold. It means a ton in the Empire.

I'm pretty much an outlander player, and I don't think I'll be back to Empire. :)

129339, Your RP was garbage.
Posted by Aereglen on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
And then you complain about not getting enough recognition for your efforts. Running around saying fook over and over is not stellar RP. I'm sorry to burst your bubble. Maybe if you didn't have a dozen alts you could properly play one character well.

You were not a bad character, that is not what I'm saying. You were however an obvious powergame-type player, with boring repetitive roleplay. When you play like that, don't complain when you don't receive rewards that people tend to get for exceptional roleplaying. Be happy with what you were given.

Your griefer alts were annoying though. Stop doing that.

Honestly, its more that most of the staff found your rp to be super annoying. Constant rp, while commendable, doesn't default to quality or enjoyable for everyone involved.

And lets not forget that while you got 1k immexp you did get other rewards like a custom leader weapon for your character. That is something that no amount of immexp can buy you.

Depends on your sphere/imm etc.. But I regularly have over 1k if I don't delete;delete before 200 hours. It's not necessarily about having 'your' Rp on point but also bringing more out of others,or trying to understand them through things other than combat. So you know... Rp with everyone. Not... You know... Just you...

Just jokes you teh coolest
129395, I thought I did that, but
Posted by Murphy on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I don't think I've ever had 1000 ImmXP since the role experience split. I've had rewards and praise and whatnot. Just not ImmXP.

Might have to do with playing a lot during the quiet hour, but I remember participating in an imm-run quest with two other characters and later learning that they got ImmXP for it, while I did not.

Compared to me, Warren has no right to complain.
