I'm bummed to see this. I thought you did a really nice job role playing your character. With your unique role is was going to take a really strong interview to be inducted on our first talk and I thought you acted exactly how you were supposed to while we talked which is to say wanting to be fully dedicated to the Villige but still slightly conflicted. As Ragyth said you were a conversation topic and a plan had been laid out. I apologize for not talking to you when you asked, I had planned on it but got caught in a time constraint when dealling with another thing in the Village. I was really looking forward to this storyline in the Village but I get why sometimes you just need to go. When I saw you deleted I was relieved it wasn't because "the Drillmaster ruined my character by not letting me in the Village" thing. You're a stand up player and the game is better with you here. Sorry it ended this way. Good luck with the next one.

Pfft. Dude you guys were fine and yeah you totally did as you should
(maybe went a little easy on me even, but hey cool stories tend to
draw people in and get someone a break)
Had I been in the village from moments after being made an applicant
and the same thing took place it would have still rubbed me the wrong
way and I'd have still deleted. I've been 'applicant' of other cabals
far longer than I'm pretty sure I would have been with battle.
:)
Anyway you keep on truckin'. You've got a pretty cool thing going on
there. If I felt like playing right now, I wouldn't be able to play
my typical fortie since I just ran into so many evils I liked. :)
That's partially on you! Hehehe.
115455, Yup me.
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I don't mind most trash talk, but really man imagine if that had been a new player. I get that being an ass seems to be a few people's RP but there is a difference between the player and the character, someone pretending to be an ass shows that they are playing a part.
Though you were correct, hehe, it was the way you put it that screamed *you the player* are a giant asshole.

Apologies to all the work done Amarathe, my bad.
I wouldn't have made it to july 1st in any case. :)
Still an Awesome idea, you should do more of these.
115456, That dude's an ass
Posted by Rayihn on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Put him on ignore when you see him on the who list (it's pretty obvious who he is with every char) and move on with your life.

Sorry you found neutral Baer follower too restrictive...
115458, RE: That dude's an ass
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Actually I might try this again... differently. :)
It wasn't so much too restrictive as it was me not having the game
knowledge to pull it off. I was looking forward to the baer thing.
Remember I'm the moron who played an orc that listened to a paladin and decided to try to be good well into his life. :)
I did have several moments of 'all limits no benefits what the hell am I going to do' :) FYI for anyone else: You die that's what you do.
Hehehe.

And yeah that guy is an ass, perhaps ignore would have been the thing
I was already at the end of my rope, trying to make it to con death
When a person through a video game makes you want to crawl through the screen and punch him until the copes show up to pull you off the barely recognizable remains.. well it's time to get away and go have a drink.
115494, Perhaps I'm a little late to the discussion

I have no idea who the player or the character that you are talking about is. Did you attempt to pray about said character, if their behavior was actually that bad, or did you utilize the other tools available to you?

If you did, good on you and sorry that the staff didn't resolve it before it got this bad for you. If you didn't then you probably shouldn't be throwing someone else under the bus.
115495, What would the staff have done?
Posted by CD on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM

And who says he cant throw an anonymous name under the bus?

115496, RE: What would the staff have done?
Posted by Iklahn on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Sometimes its just as simple as pulling the harassing party off to the side for a little talk. Other times, if nothing else, it can be useful to see if it is a one time instance or a reoccurring thing for said player to have such poor behavior.

There is also the possibility that the guy is 100% fully in character and RPing being that big of a jerk and the original poster has nothing to actually be upset about other then disliking the RP hook someone else decided to use.

And as far as throwing an "anon" person under the bus, that's just silly. Don't blame someone else for a choice that you decided to make.
115497, :)
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Sure man there were a million other things I 'could' have done.
I do not mention the person so as NOT to throw anyone under the bus.
I was EXPLAINING what prompted me to make the choice I made.
I never even tried to imply that it wasn't MY choice to delete.

Guy throws a bucket of water on his head... WTF?!?!
Guy explains that he was about to fall out from heat stroke...
Ohhhh!

Could I have put up with 'anonapparentlybusfodder'? Probably.
Did I have to? Nope. Did I want to? Nope.
I still can't figure out when the world went to the idea that
a 'social contract' meant anyone can be an asshole but you, and
you have to put up with it. Yes, I scream at people who cut in line
at the supermarket. When the screechy mean lady is berating the
poor lady at the deli for something that isn't even a real problem
I feel compelled to step in, hey I can't get fired for calling her
a bitch right? (Side note: people at the deli end up loving you and
you get 'choice' bit or free stuff.) Where was I? Wow I'm tired.
Hehe.
115498, Shoot forgot!!!
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I never bug the staff about things like this. It just seems retarded
to me. 'Hey Mr. government man, those people are doing things I don't
like. I insist that you make them stop!' That's just not me.
OMG I'm reading my own words in the shrek puss'n'boots voice.
Almost started typing that way. Where is my coffee!!

I do my pc's as winnie the pooh character alot too. Hehe.
Helping raise the kids of relatives, then 2 kids, and 3 grandkids
will do that too you. Not too long ago I knew every wiggles song
by heart. Not that I wanted to, they just sort of eat into your
brain.
115457, *sigh*
Posted by Amaranthe on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I have no clue about the trash talk you refer to, and I do know you were frustrated with the character, but I am sad you didn't even make it the month. I think the Davenports are my favorite storyline, and I thought I gave you the best reason for being a Battlerager I could possibly think of. None of that "mages killed my parents" crap. :D

Theodarian may need to "haunt" the 'fields a little bit before all this is said and done. I'd have preferred him alive, though.

Better luck next time!

115461, RE: *sigh*
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Again I'm real sorry about that.
True BEST reason to be a villager EVER!!!
:)

Side note on evolution: Couldn't do it, felt like cheating. Else why
bother with the char sheets if I just take the kind of person he was and just decide to play whatever I wanted? Kinda kills it.
Again apologies for not dragging it out enough, but yeah I already
knew beforehand that I wasn't going to make it TO the contest much less through. Getting lucky with ranking groups, and running everytime
I saw someone in pk range I MIGHT have made it to the 27th, but that
was already unlikely. Ever played chess and you see that the other
guy has you been in so many moves pretty much no matter what? It's
time to tip the king. :) The email was to ask if it was okay to tip
the king basically.

Best thing about this, I wasn't even aware that there was a subset
of characters that I'm completely unable to play, now I know and will
have to rectify that. Usually I learn at least a few things with each
character. This one well I only learned that I couldn't play him.
oh wait! I learned about a quest or two everyone but me seemed to know
of. So There's my $50 step. Now time for putting myself even farther
out of my element so I can learn how to do a theo mo bedda.

Thanks for the opportunity though.
115472, I really enjoyed hanging out with you and talking with you but...
Posted by Voralia on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
... why would you join a questline/competition where someone put down a lot of time when you knew you weren't going to go through with it? I like you and all Baluja but I think that's a pretty crappy move.
115474, RE: I really enjoyed hanging out with you and talking with you but...
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
:) I brought it up when I 'joined'. Theo was always just someone for
others to play off of. I'm good at supporting cast. I did all the
things theo needed to do except destroy magic. :) The things
I 'started' in game were all things I'm not needed for except to
have gotten it started or given a reason for another person to do
a thing. Hehe this is really hard without giving up anything *rofl*
In any case anything else theo was needed for I'd never have known
No way TO know it, since I had no clue at all what anyone else's goal
was.

Ahh well that's just me trying to dodge the blame, you are right
no matter what I say it was still a crappy move.
115489, I 100% agree.
Posted by Minyar on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I honestly knew none of the other storylines, but I had gotten to know Delilah a lot while ranking with her as Sinrol. It was quite fun and her RP is top notch. I tried to RP some with Theo and Liss but got less of a response from you guys about the stories dynamic. That isn't to say you didn't or aren't doing well, it was just difficult Anyway, sorry you had such a bad time, I honestly have no clue who the whole thing is referring to, but i hope you like what you do next.
115490, RE: I 100% agree.
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Most of theo's life he didn't have detect invis, so he was major
'on edge' about any 'someone' who spoke to him. If I replied but
cut things short it was because I was after someone, ranking, or had
recently spent close to a RL hour talking to other people about my
story and was just like 'Enough!' lets go kill some ####! :)
It didn't happen often but one day I was hit up back-to-back for
'what gives' stories. I think it went on nearly an hour and a half
RL hehe, I shortened things after that, but yeah sometimes I was
short with people, esp if a mage was asking about it.

I usually tried to talk to mages as well, though it was a polite
version of okay dirtbag, here is what happened is that what you wanna
know!?!?! is it? Happy now? Too bad theo was too civilized to make
it come off like that. He probably sounded too respectful. I think
word choice is the issue there, I need to find a way to sound polite
but angry without being an asshat. :)
115460, We had some good scraps
Posted by The Ruk on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
We had a lot of fun dust ups and I wish you luck with your next. I was surprised you were an app for so long. Ruk tried to give you a rec in his orcish way. Guess it didn't help.
115462, RE: We had some good scraps
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
:) It's been so long since I played a villager I don't remember jack
about 'history'. You were a fun fight. Eat more mages!!!
Wait... unless I role a mage... :)
115464, No!! Epic failure for Ragyth. We were bringing you in!
Posted by Ragyth on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
You were the subject of 1.5 real life hr discussion in the War Room :)

Brizlin said as soon as Ragyth was ready to vouch for you, you were in.

I had a few short conversations planned, but you never got back to me...
I was willing to go the damn Lyceum with you and quiz you to make sure you passed Drillmaster's next conversation. In terms of mage killing, you definitely killed another mage, so it was a done deal after a bit of RP.

Oh well, GLWYN. Ragyth is going to feel like a terrible failure for this.

What happened to make you delete? :)
115467, RE: No!! Epic failure for Ragyth. We were bringing you in!
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Sorry man, I just didn't end up with good timing to talk to you again.
:) You never did anything remotely like failing, hell the villagers
were all pretty damn cool, I had forgotten what it was like hehe.
I gotta roll me another one fairly soon.
Primarily this was me failing as a player, not anyone else, not even
Theo. hehe. Don't sweat it. I was cool with however long it might
take to get into the village, or even con dead as an applicant.

As for the why of deleting? Another player just pushed the right
buttons to where I decided I'd rather eat ground glass than play a
game with that guy in it for even one more second. IRL you could say
I'm a walking example of alignment change. :) I was a bad guy and now
I'm a pretty nice guy BUT if I heard that particular player got hit
by a bus, I would have to restrain a cheer. That's pretty messed up.
I don't wanna be that way. So I'll probably wait til I see his death
thread to play again.

This is the first time I've had a human that I ended up with WAY more
fights against people higher than me instead of lower lvl. It was
wierd. Or three guys? Jump on in! My few wins should totally count
for the RNG as wins hehe.
115465, Sorry to see you go
Posted by geenugs on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I was the one that showed you the quest, felt good to finally have a bit of knowledge to share for once. I'm playing my first Villager so I don't want to out too much information but I enjoyed our interactions, and your story. I'm really sad to see that things didn't pan out for you.
115468, RE: Sorry to see you go
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
No sweat man, it was fun. Well mostly hehe.
The story is cool isn't it? I can't take credit for it though.
That was 100% Amaranthe.
Who in doing this contest gave me like a thousand role ideas. :)
115466, RE: Yup me.
Posted by Borkahd on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Maybe I am perceiving it wrong but it seems like about four solid people recently deleted all because of the same player.

I didn't get a chance to interact with this character but I usually like what you do. Good luck with the next!
115469, RE: Yup me.
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I dunno, but I wouldn't bet against the pleyer issue there.

Would be kinda funny if the whole mud logged off for like half
an hour when he logged in. 'Course I'd have to wonder about myself
since I log in pretty often when the player count is REALLY low hehe.

And thanks!

You have fun out there my shadowy friend.
115471, Should have kept at it. I was rooting for you.

I mean, I think if you were around just a bit more often, Keca would have spoken for you. But it was not meant to be.
115476, RE: Should have kept at it. I was rooting for you.
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
It's cool, nice talk btw thanks for that.
115477, Thanks for the chats
Posted by Delilah on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
And the answer to your last question was - yes, I did do it. I was trying my best to manipulate you indirectly, that was one of my tricks. Although I talked to you only when you were 'chasing me', I was doing my best to turn every other character against you. I hope it was fun.

Why weren't you inducted into battle faster? I have to say, you seemed to be doing a good job. I really liked what I saw.
115483, RE: Thanks for the chats
Posted by Bajula on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I had assumed you anyway (as a player) but theo had to figure it out.
Potential wifey troubles could have come out of it as well. Dep.
on how Liss wanted to play it.. :)

You play one creepy creepy daughter btw- Hehe some of that was
just straight awesome. Did you ever watch the original 30's era
bad seed? I always wondered though what would the reaction have
been early on if theo had tried to make you 'go to your room'?

In any case you seem to be having fun with it, and other people
seem to be having fun with it so damn fine job lil miss morbid and
creepifyin' :)
115486, Thank you...
Posted by Aeede on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Thank you for the RP session in the Inn. Really loved your story when I found more about you.

I understand that you had to delete because of that player, but please do come back. GLWYN

Hehe, I've tried pretty hard to quit before, I'll be back.
