I've been around a lot, as of late. I approved your role (which I really liked), and gave you your title. However, random observation did not reveal anything that inspired me to interact, and the consensus of the other imms seemed to match my random sentiment that your RP didn't generally match the quality of your role. I was hoping you'd work out the kinks though with time. Sorry you gave up early.

But in this case you are as guilty of "waiting for something to happen" as the next Imm.

I would randomly RP with myself, MOBs the weather, the moon and other characters and even toss up the odd prayer (Which I stopped after i was told I spammed.) I invoked your aspects in nearly every conversation. Not only did I invoke them, I played them based upon the phases of the moon. And I preached your religion. And I didn't just preach your religion based on seasons, I preached it based upon your aspects according to the alignment of the moon. And I didn't just do that, I held you about all other deities when talk of them came up.

I even said you had a better rack than Baerinika.

So I feel like there is a disconnect here. I was supremely bored (To the point I spammed Herbs to like 90%) and pretty much looking forward to a visit from you. Hell... I had 100% in nearly every skill and spell from sitting for a 100 hours in a Tree waiting for something to happen.

It never did. So I suppose that's my fault, but based upon what I read below, I'm thinking not so much.

I have had more empowered characters from you than any other Imm, starting back in 98. All druids, I feel like I have a pretty good handle on your religion, so I'm sorta butt hurt by your response.

Sometimes, it's just bad luck. I'm not sure what else to tell you - I certainly didn't intend to hurt you with my response. I generally keep a snoop my kids and I just didn't happen to see much.

I was also gone for several weeks in the middle of your character's life (vacation, etc.) So I was there at the beginning and at the end, so I may have missed the apex of your performance as well, seeing you before you were spun up and then after you were bored? I dunno.

I know you are semi-dormant and I was happy to get what I got.

Some food for thought though, did the Greek gods sit around waiting for Mortals to do something, or did they throw things at them to see how they reacted?

I spend my CF time strolling around knocking out mechanical things and save myself for when I travel. During that time I am happy to interact when it comes my way. I've heard this sentiment echoed by others in the past but I don't know how prevalent it is. I know you guys are busy IC and IRL though and can't be all places and things at once.

I think the problem comes up is that there are mortals who will dial up the RP dramatically if they are interacting with an imm, but it does not necessarily reflect the quality of RP when the same mortal thinks no one is watching. I know I've had it happen where I tattooed a mortal to later find out that when I'm not looking, they are an assclown. Not often, but it's happened.

My happy medium has been to be very liberal and easygoing when it comes to role approves, titles, empowerment, etc, but at times a bit stingy when it comes to the higher end attention.

That said, I won't disagree with you that CF would be a better game if every imm were as actively interactive as Whiysdan or Baer.

I think all of the above is true. You certainly did these things. I think the problem was you didn't do them well enough to make Amaranthe (or other imms, apparently) get excited about interacting with you. Your effort made you an above average role player, which is probably why you had the title, but greatness comes from interacting well with others. It's when everyone around you rps better just because you feed them so well. I didn't get that from Krik. It's the subtle and difficult difference between rping with me vs. at me.

I had a name change from Kip to Krik when i was level 20 or so.

Forester Animist is alright. Ancient instincts is pretty good. Fear set in during three PK fights over 100+ hours of life. Cloud of Wasps isn’t as good as I remember it, Primordial vengeance has never landed for me with this or any other character. My Spirit Guardian did things I don’t recall it doing, like waking me up when a PK was around. I’m not sure if it was a form of awaken or if it was actually waking me I feel like it was the former which would be handy. Gust of wind should be called “Gust of Win” I love that spell. As a gnome I had 1200+ HP which let me take some pretty brutal hits.

Below is a chart and some modifiers that Lays out how Krik interacts withpeople. The race chart gives a baseline for how he sees people, then after thatare some political/Social Modifiers, and finally below that are Lunar modifiers.

Another good Outlander experience as far as the players go. Everyone of you was good to Krik through out his life. I feel like Outlander has gotten away from nature though. I didn’t get a nature cabal vibe in it.

Naiat = I don’t get how a neutral who ranked on elves get’s some Baer love. Wtf-applesauce? I also got pretty pissed off when you were forcing me to go OOC to ask you to group. You knew what I was asking, yet you chose to play word games. Then north of Darsylon, telling me to sleep during the fights instead of just going to the trail for two ticks so that I wasn‘t attacked by wandering skeletons… That’s a hearty #### off and ended my warm fuzzy for you so I left. You were rock solid with me until those two things and then I just didn’t want to travel with you.

Nythos = Hah. Sorry man, I though you wer going to die off on the 22 of June not July. That's why I was pressuring you to rank rather than explore.

Fyett = I felt like you had a hissy fit when I tried to RP with you after you asked me and Ptarisein on an adventure. I tried several times to coax you to interact, but no dice. We eventually ended up going and had a good time though and I did gain a few ranks.Maybe you were just distracted?

Oryn = Thanks for the induct. I had never even heard of you and I had thought Cgadi would be Harbinger until you spoke to me that day. You were the one outlander that really felt like an Outlander to me though. I enjoyed every minute of it with you.

Xanta = I was trying to help you as much IC as I could and you kept insisting that you knew what you were doing even as you were repeating the same mistakes over and over again. Things would happen and somehow it would print out differently on your screen because what you cam back with to me was so far from my reality it was mind boggling. You were 3 of my 4 PK kills. Congratulations. Sitting in Silverwood or near the monks or in Cragstone to spam spells is stupid. Returning their after I killed you even more so. Is this harsh? Yes it is, but the simple fact is you DON’T know what you are doing and people were trying to help you. I felt so ####ty after killing you the third time I returned things from a previous kill I had on you. You will get better, but don’t think you know what you are doing now because you obviously don’t. Listen to what people are telling you. Even my badgering was meant to teach you.


All the Clouds hand pole warriors Holy cow I got you guys mixed up! Had fun with all of you.

Something for all neutral and good outlanders. You guys know that you have request right? You you both can request from neutral and good mobs that consider as “At home in the wilds.” That way you don’t have to violate the first tenet of Outlander dogma. I think that is something that has been forgotten for the most part.

I went ahead and got wanted just to add some spice to a life of spam. (Head nod to the Immortal that pointed that out to me)

I also broke with a personal tradition and took things from kills that weren’t mine and as a result I had the best set of gear I have ever had. I want to thank Cgadi for her help earlier with the Rock Hydra I have never had a suit of that stuff and I have always wanted some.

I think that Shapeshifters should not be anywhere near as good as they are simply because they are already so easy to operate as a class. I spend 100 hours perfecting skills and all it takes to defeat me is a falcon with a flyto murder/macro and the ability to see camouflaged. I can’t even move down the road faster than it can flyto and peck. The lag pulse for movement is longer than his to execute 2 commands. That’s broken and has been for years.


Sorry Oryn, as you can see I can’t hurt the falcon either. This just made me want to do something else for a while.

So we have a lot of spam here simply because I was hoping to get enough commands into the system to get past any lg I might be experiencing. As you can see though, flyto+peck > Pathfinding. I understand there was something changed to the skill to slow it down, but I’m lost on what that was.

I would have died on the eastern road if I had thrown dirt. I was trying to get to the wilderness where i would have some ability to survive. Bye the time I did, I was too hurt.

I had thought to cast ancestral spirits to scare him off, but things were just going to fast.

I really really hate shapeshifters. I wish the game didn't have them.

Just to get him blind and get to the wilderness. Not being blind or maledicted by you, he could just get the occasional melee and wait (with flyto;peck or murder toggle ready) for you to flee and then try and orientate yourself.

Dirt ran the risk of him having time to switch to lion and get in a rake but that would only be trip lag and if the RNG did not screw you with a tick coming through quickly you could have made it to open sea and under it realistically.

Playing shifters showed me the frustrating ways that people can wriggle away from me and dirt is one of those.

To be able to tear up so many different classes with so few commands seems like it would merrit them being toned way down.

A lone shifter is one of the easiest classes to avoid dying to since most of them don't have great lagging options. I rarely see any non-scion shifter tearing up anyone, and even them, it's more people killing themselves on them than the shifter being some amazing killer.

Yeah, air offense can be annoying (if they are a scion especially because nightwalker+despoil+abs is tough to fight for anyone) but generally most shifters when they are alone are not too tough because they only have limited command options at their disposal. And if they do not have Barrier, a lot of them are pretty beatable with any class, since most forms have exploitable weaknesses.

That said, I still hate air offense shifters, since flyto murder never appeared overly difficult to play or be mildly effective with because of the ease of pursuing people. Wand up, flyto;murder/peck. Losing fight, they just fly into the skies, and that is why I dislike them more, because they are pretty much played as opportunist hit and run types. A little panic on the part of the target often does more to aid them in getting kills than flyto;murder ever does.

I consider air offense a nuisance, but not really a threat most of the time. (honestly I think pounce is way better than flyto;murder) I'd much rather fight a skilled player playing a shifter than anything else, because all their skill generally is not that useful when they only have two or three options available in combat. But dying to air offense shifters, as anything but a Battlerager, should not be too much of an issue, because escape should not be too much of a problem. Flee/Quaff, and most all classes have a way to blind them for a moment generally, then just make a dash. And all ragers have dirt kick at a minimum.

This was a fun character and you seemed to be very high energy. Maybe try a druid or something next time. They always seemed like much stronger animists.

He was really cool over all but I didn't think he was going to be able to go where I wanted him to.

Druids are just sick IMHO. I remember about 10 years ago I have a druid run where I played a Cloud, a Human and a Gnome and my gnome just kicked much ass.

And you were always a good running mate. I don't know a lot about the hero game so when we joined up I didn't have a lot to offer.

I think this is the first pro char I have ever interacted with, and too be honest, I thought your RP was stellar.. I was truly intrigued at the whole dranety angle, and I enjoyed listening to your views upon the moon cycle, etc...

just all around I would like to say well done.. The only true negative I can say is that you DELETED instead of sticking around for a couple hundred more hours... I was looking forward to see what your build could do at hero. (I dont think you can judge it based upon that last fight with the chancellor, he is a tough foe)

I also thank you for the comments you made about expecting me to be made Harbinger, but I play pretty much the opposite times of the outtie imms so I probably have not been snooped enough to warrant anything of the such. And I also interacted with Oryn before with a couple of other chars.. he is long lived, and very deserving of Harbinger.

There was also one big screw up I made when I was quite a bit younger that I would rather not go into right now.. I will on my death thread.

Kip really was a cool name in my book. :) But that was the first of a few things that worked against my sticking with the character.

I get really frustrated when I percieve something to be over powered or broken. Flyto/murder is one of the most negative things in game for me. I have deleted previous rangers in a tiff over it. On a plus side, I think I help effect a change in how it works though. Still did me no good these two times.

Captain Krik, oh no!

Heh, this a bummer, Krik had a ton of potential. I really enjoyed the character and I could tell there was a lot of depth there, but as a player I can see a lot of downside to a gnome ranger. Sad to see you go, but I understand. A falcon who can see camo is a royal pain the ass, no doubt. ;)
