What the hell am I supposed to do with resist disease/poison with a 1st tier form? Gimme forage!
Much like forage, it's an ability which stays useful through hero. While you probably wouldn't shift into it to fight once you had high-level forms, there's times when being able to give yourself those resistances on a whim is a life saver.
