Phaxhedea the Voice of An Immortal, Adherent of the Glade

Description

A slender arial standing three or four handsbreadths higher
than the average human flits around patiently here. The feathers
covering most of her body are light great with white tips,
giving each individual feather an outline. Her talons are
a matching gray with a large, sharp claw accentuating each toe
gleaming dangerously in the light. A train of feathers that
cascades down her back in an iridescent display catches each
beam of light and reflects a rainbow of soft pastel colors
back to your eye. Her beak is long and pronounced, the same
gray as her feathers, protruding outward and then curving
down and ending in a sharp point. Her eyes are the same
beautiful white as her feather train and reminding you somewhat
of abalone shell.

Traveling to the Glade one bright sunny day
The unknown Phaxhedea did wander
Chirping a tune so cheerful and gay
About burning a duergar asunder
There met a man with hat floppy and wide
And a cat with old fish on his breath
Young Phaxhedea was churning inside
Hoping her intrusion meant not death

He took her aside and then said to her
"You're now in the glade of Lord Summer.
Bring me some wine or my wrath you'll incur."
She just couldn't have felt any dumber
Then with a grin he ruffled her feathers
And she felt her prayers reach divine
As though she just survived stormy weathers
"Welcome," he said. "You're now one of mine."

"O Innis! Innis!" she began with great fervor
But the song was not ready to come
Maybe she wasn't quite the deserver
Of getting Innis' love (and then some)
She scratched her head and then bid farewell
With promises of songs 'bout her deity
What she'd come up with only time would tell
But the journey would be full of gaiety

Then genius came in the form of a song
Music bursting forth from her heart
(That kind of music can never be wrong)
She took off alone with a start
Ink went to leaf (that's all that she had)
Concentrating on the beach where she sat
"I love Innis and hope he won't feel bad;role + But I'll write this song for his cat!"
