The Man of Mystery
Added Thu Nov 9 19:45:29 2023 at level 49:

Gherod Grayson is an ordinary man hailing from the city of Hamsah Mu'tazz at
first glance. His origins are his only unknown and the only mystery he
pretends to not care about. He knows he must have parents some place, but he
has no memory of them. His earliest memories are that of an orphan, and later
a street urchin, catching rats for Habib to earn a few coppers. Plus, Habib
let him keep the rats for food. From a young age, Gherod displayed a natural
talent for inventing and crafting, often coming up with unconventional trap
designs.

He once achieved a system of weights and pulleys that would catapult annoying
seagulls from landing on window sills. Despite his creative spirit, Gherod's
talents were often not appreciated for their unique approach to trapping,
many considering his inventions as nonsensical. This led to tension within,
as Gherod sought to prove the value of his creations. Eventually, he would
earn enough coin to join the Academy for formal training, hoping he could
learn more trades to earn a better life and afford greater opportunities.

However, Gherod's path took a different turn. He was drawn to the Thieves
Guild, a group known for their unconventional approach to combat, subterfuge,
and even tinkering and trapping. Gherod embraced this new lifestyle and found
a sense of camaraderie among the thieves. There, he developed skills to help
him amass a great fortune of ill-gotten gains. His studies would eventually
lead him to the notorious Blackclaw guild who were reknown for their traps.
His inventive skills made him a valuable member of the guild. As time passed,
Gherod grew and found even more wealth in his travels but in the form of
relationships and companions. Companions that helped him to become the
Spymaster of Blackclaw.
