Ssorc the Wight Lord
DescriptionShadows dance and seem to come to life in the presence of this pale-blue creature known as a Dread Barrow Wight. Clouded white eyes gaze forward, never closing, and unbothered by the doings of the living. The creature stands five feet even and has a gaunt lean body that looks rather weak, however where there should be teeth this creature instead bares fangs dripping with ill-lookin saliva. It's mouth emits a ghostly purple vapor that seems never-ending.
Still, some hints of the creature it once was remain. Ears pointed and clearly Elven or Drow. Instead of a rank or aweful smell, the creature instead smells of pumpkin. It has white hair, forever short in length, that seems to float in an always-present breeze. This was once a living, breathing, person. Now withered and ghostly brandishing claws, as sharp as daggers instead of hands. Still, the creature moves with thought, rather than instinct. It clearly thinks and wants. Oddly feminine in its movements, it sticks close to shadow and walks with intent.

83737, Ssorc's Role Chapter 12

RoleChapter 12 Meeting with Morius and Faith Added Thu Dec 21 13:27:26 2023 at level 47:Ssorc finally met her father, as she sees it, Morius. Ssorc was blessed with His divine presence, and they did speak. It was only affirmation of Ssorc's faith. For how many see His Great Person, let alone hear His words. Yes, Ssorc is pleased and Pride overwhelmingly pulls her forward. Ssorc will continue, until the sky darkens and beyond.
Ssorc feels mostly comfortable in the faith. As the faith is laid out, I (player) feel comfortable seeing her do essentially whatever she wants, as long as she fulfills her drive which is something along the lines of absolute power. Or maybe she'll seek out a way to live 'beyond' life... Anyway, that's the route she'll be moving. I would like to do 'Chaos' justice. Anything goes, but with sinister intent, always.
To further 'The Vitiatic Faith' Ssorc has begun writing or publishing written notes. As in on paper and written with a pen. For now the plan is to have one for good, neutral, and evil. And to pass them out in random or curious ways. Ideally, each one landing in the hand of their intended alingnment. But they don't have to.
Other than that, Ssorc offers sacrifices to Morius in the form of flesh, treasure, time, and prayer. And he shall continue to do so.

RoleChapter 4 A Couple of Points Added Mon Oct 16 06:43:34 2023 at level 1:This is unrelated to the scroll. I left off a few finer points to clarify her current state and future. Due to the process of being 'enlightened' she is very malleable and suggestable in her current state. She has no orders or direction other than the lightest of pulls towards the Church of Morius. She will go there, and she will wait.
Also, she has been reborn into a form of Pride. I haven't perfectly figured out how Pride will manifest within her, but that will be the direction I'll be headed.
Thoughts, criticizms, hopes that you (Morius) may have for the future of Ssorc not only are welcome but encouraged!
Also, whether the vague and currently ill-defined 'We' who supposedly wrote this scroll or not even exist is not something I'm attempting to make canon. I just find it an interesting possibility or thought. Perhaps there will be future payoff. We'll see.

83730, Ssorc's Role Chapter 5
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 5 Pride and Memories Added Sat Oct 21 21:45:22 2023 at level 1:Slowly Ssorc's memories have began to return. She remembers vague things, such as the cold of the underdark. Or how alone she felt for all those years. She also remembers how to navigate this world, as if she almost never left. She doesn't know how she remembers, but she does. She slowly begins to remember speech and the various other concepts that make up this reality.
She has spent months, here, at the Morian church and has seen many come and go without moving or speaking. But she Has seen. The church is a part of her, now and is something she Will take with her. She hopes to make contact with a God she knows by name, Morius, but still has yet to meet. In some ways her 'shaping' happened as she sat in his church and unknowingly soaked in more than she was aware of. She is ready to walk a path the God Morius would embrace.
The Scroll is gone from her clothing. She does not know where, nor did she see when it was removed.
Her sphere of pride will show itself in her fierce and unbending belief in her magic and the strength she grows inside of her. She believes this power will ultimately overcome any obstacle or enemy standing in her way. She will embrace and preach of pride and what it truly means to those she feels she can reach.
She feels pride is more than boasting. But rather to be truly undefeatable. She feels that she Cannot be defeated even if killed. She feels such pride in her own power that she will Never be deterred by death no matter the cost.
She has also come to the conclusion that for the sake of secrecy and her own ambition of pride in her powers, that she will advance completely on her own without the aid of any other adventurer. Not to say she will never join another, but her ranking within her guild will be done with mercenaries and the undead alone. As they have much less inclination on speaking.
She also remembers the shadowed and vast power taught and held by the Scion of the Eternal Night, and instead of waiting, she plans to work towards attaining this power as soon as she is able.

83731, Ssorc's Role Chapter 6
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 6 Updates on Role Specifics Added Thu Oct 26 17:40:13 2023 at level 23:Ssorc, in her purist form, is a being devoted to one singular cause: To eliminate any possibility or notion to the concept of 'limit' to her (Yes, her meaning singular) power or will. In many rights (at the very least within her own mind) these concepts (Speaking about will and power.) overlap and could easily be confused as the same thing. In reality, even within Ssorc, they are not the same but their characteristics do often seem similar. At least, that is what Ssorc has found to be true thus far.
That's a very 'nutshell' version of her belief system. However, to expand on that. She ultimately did not exist one second. And then, suddenly and very abruptly, began to 'exist'. Here in our reality of Thera. The debate on whether that very fact might well be something so hard to imagine may not be possible aside. Let's take into account Thera is a reality in which VERY different rules exist than any other reality might understand. And let's also remember that she was brought 'back' from essentially some version of pure 'blackness' or shadow that who knows what that being might 'feel' or do. I hope to continue to explore such concepts while playing and observing Ssorc.
The only 'thing' left of her to survive the unthinkable and unknowable infinity of darkness she endured were the most basic and 'pure' of that being.
She was ultimately 'pulled' to The Church of Morius where she spent months just 'existing'. She sat there, never closing her eyes or blinking, because she didn't know that was a thing. While barely concious, she was in-fact there! She saw and 'experienced' the reality that was The Church of Morius for months, while still not quite understanding what 'time' was. Still, time did as it often does, and slowly memories started to shape where, for so so long, there was nothing.
The memories she posses, still to this day, are vague and difficult for Ssorc to decipher. They are enough for her to make out a reality of delusion that bares giving little thought to at all. She is reborn, now.
Ssorc is done with memories. She's Way past weeping in some wooded marsh. She! She, against absolutely all odds managed to retain the one thing that ever mattered at all. And so. She is, truly. She is undeniably. Reborn in the image of Lord Morius' Pride.
Her will or power, obsessively and Outlandishly, cultivated and grown through sheer will to succeed where others thought her dead and forgotten, Will be Absolutely Undeniable. And the profane will weep! But. They will also Have to see. And they will flock to Morius with such fervor He can swim in a lake of them.

83732, Ssorc's Role Chapter 7

RoleChapter 7 Updates on Role Specifics (Addendum) Added Thu Oct 26 17:55:16 2023 at level 23:Updates on Role Specifics (addendum)
To clarify futher. Ssorc's embodiment of Lord Morius' Pride will be a less about 'boasting' over victories or being overly preachy to large groups of nameless faces.
For now, her path seems cloaked in shadow and secrecy. She is Well aware of many eyes and ears there are, and how those eyes and ears are far too often attached to a mouth as well. Also, boasting seems far to simple a solution for a Vice so compelling and Worthy as Pride.
Ssorc will preach. But to a smaller crowd. Perhaps, even, in secret and in shadowed places. But always with the eye out. Looking for the faithful, in all their beauty.
Ultimately, Ssorc's Pride (hopefully and with my best committment.) be played out in her journey to power that is Undeniably 'limitless'. (And just to be clear Yes, even to the extent that she, Ssorc, actually manifests somehow into our own reality on her way to her goals and beyond) But I have my doubts on her 'limitless' assertions.

83733, Ssorc's Role Chapter 8
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 8 Why Scion? Added Thu Oct 26 18:32:56 2023 at level 23:Ssorc, as a concept, Very much (essentially) Will be played as a secluded and mostly quiet Drow. All up until the 'Undeniable' reality to be experienced some day to come of course! But otherwise, her entire being is wrapped up in knowledge, lore, shadow, secrecy, etc.
She has no reservations about being 'reluctant' to give up 'freedom' Her eyes have been opened! And now she's ready to embrace it all! Now! But still with patience, as Her own growth in power is her goal. But she has no problem, what-so-ever watching this world, or as many others as need be, consumed by shadow and what lurks within.
Why shouldn't she embrace it? Indulge a little? Barely a sacrifice worthy of mention in the grand scheme of things.
Ssorc will work towards darkness AND shadow, without fail, until she succeeds. As such, her path as crossed and intersected with the Scion's a few times in the past, and she could not help but be convinced that the Scion of Eternal Night, Definately had their head's in the right place with regard to personal objectives. At least for those who had tried and failed. They knew what life had to offer. Knowledge, translated into power, which is then forged one step further into ones own power. Ssorc hasn't yet been convinced that the Scion have figured out the last step to that knowledge. Perhaps there is much more they could learn together.
Otherwise, Ssorc was forged in shadow and is in no way afraid of it. Nor unwilling to embrace, test, and further that power and unholy will. In short, if she's going to essentially live the life of a Scion, anyways, then at the Vert least she may as well have a nice and dark place, full of unholy nightmares to do her studying, testing, advancing within. Ssorc is curious of the secrets held within. And she wants to know if the Scion's shadow is anything like the eternal black that she remembers.
Ssorc has no plans for betraying the Scion, so she will be trustworthy at least for an actual dagger to the back.

83734, Ssorc's Role Chapter 9
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 9 Other Short-term Goals: Added Thu Oct 26 18:59:38 2023 at level 23:Ssorc walks in silence and in shadow. She observes the world, silently mostly. She walks among us, but is almost never seen or heard. She traffics in knowledge that most would call insane. If not outright blasphemy. Rumor or prophecy. Attained knowledge that often becomes selfishly hoarded by the profane and the afraid. They cower and retreat to their, often, remote and hidden laboratory. Tucked away in this all-but doomed reality. Trying to keep it, as if it Were theirs. It's not. It's mine. And thus, Ssorc has been hunting down and executing hidden and often powerful witches and wizards in their place of safety. Mostly because of the obvious reason: Ssorc wants that knowledge and possible resources! And how dare they try to keep it? She plans to continue to do this.
Ssorc has noticed her guildmistress trying to hold back knowledge from her. Knowledg that Ssorc believes could aid, greatly, in her goals. Legend, often hushed, as it pertains to knowledge learned from the underdark, tells of a way to greatly increase ones own power while embraced in the holy night, itself. One of Ssorc's main goals is to learn of this 'Nightcasting' abilities.
Ssorc has recently become quite fond of a most curious and deadly disease taught within the Necromancy guild. She's curious and allured by the elegance of 'Crimson Scourge'. And thus she wants to indulge longer! Knowing and understanding all she can even more if she is able. Thus in order to indulge this sweet curiosity, she will need to stay at or near the 23rd advancement of her guild for a longer time than normal. But when she's indulged enough, she will continue onward.
While otherwise attempting to make contact with Lord Morius, and live a Vice-forward life. While hoping to have a chance to understand the power of shadow wielded by she, Ssorc, as a member of the Scion. I believe that's about where she's at. Overall

83735, Ssorc's Role Chapter 10
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 10 Nearing the Pinnacle Added Tue Nov 21 18:53:17 2023 at level 40:Times have been fruitful for Ssorc, the Drow. She has grown, carefully and diligently. She has grown such that she can no longer walk unnoticed, observing as she once did. Still, she did get her fill of watching from closets as children slept mere inches from Ssorc's grasp. All that watching and observing was for a cause, though. Over time, Ssorc has observed enough of the world to walk 'normally' among its peoples. She has even made quite the name for herself among the shopkeepers and merchants. Something of a business-drow she is. All of this has allowed Ssorc to relax and feel less of a total outsider. She knows how to play the 'games' these people do now. Her mood and attitude are different. More relaxed and ready to see how she comes to be what she believes absolutely she will be.
Ssorc is a bit troubled by the silence from the shadows and Lord Morius. She doesn't know what else to do but to keep doing the work to attain her deepest goal. She still, hopefully, awaits a time and place to prove herself to her Lord.
Ssorc has recently spent an abundance of time in and around Kteng's Laboratory. She finds it a fascinating place that speaks to her... Nature.. She will continue to explore and expand her knowledge of Kteng's lair. It's a place of importanct to Ssorc, in reaching her goals.
Another place of importance to Ssorc is the Witch's Woods just to the northwest of Emerald Forest. She finds the atmosphere and vibrance of that particular Pumpkin Patch to be delightful, and she has plans for the future there. Perhaps a power struggle with the Witch.
A strange, but not unwelcome, occurance has happened to Ssorc. She was turned into a male by mistakingly eating grapes in the Avian City. She has been wondering and pondering a solution, for while she doesn't mind being a he, she feels her path lies with the female Drow. The females, of course, being the heads of their houses and in charge otherwise. Her plans did include, perhaps, finding a solution beyond Lord Morius, as He seems busy in other dark dimensions.
Ssorc's mind continues to turn to the shadows and to the Scion, still. She's heard nothing after sending missives and pledging. Her goal is to join Scion to gain knowledge to grow and by doing so, grow the Scion as well. That remains a primary task.
She continues to search for her remaining Greater Undead. She believes there are four.
Last, Ssorc wants to indulge the way She does. To see it all. To go everywhere. To gather as much knowledge, dark magic knowledge in particular, to press forward towards her goal. She will continue to hunt strong Necromancers, both adventuring and those who keep their knowledge in laboratories and hidden places throughout Thera. She will watch and learn and live and laugh and indulge as many of her senses as she can for as long as she can. She is enjoying herself, now. All worries fade away.

Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 11 Waiting and Preparing Added Thu Dec 21 13:15:26 2023 at level 47:Ssorc has become a Spectre. A stopping point for a guild known to hold secrets of undeath. His decision to advance was one that came with longevity in thought. He felt it best to save each precious drop of life, to see his task completed.
Ssorc has found an affinity for Ktengs Laboratory. A useful and eye-opening place for his magical talents to unfold.
The underdark is a far more mysterious and curious place than even Ssorc had imagined. She feels at home, and at peace in the darkness of the underdark. He plans to explore the underdark's depths more to uncover deeper secrets.
Out there in the world also lies Ssorc's final greater undead. She has searched all the places she knows but still finds nothing. He will continue to search.
The vast majority of Ssorc's time is filled waiting. Waiting for a place among the shadowed Scion. She feels his next step is here. A step that will lead to bloodshed that must happen before his future can unfold. This is Ssorc's main goal. To join Scion.
Until then Ssorc will continue to prepare and wait. Patience, before absolute indulgence.

83728, Ssorc's Role Chapter 3
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 3 The Scroll continued Added Mon Oct 16 06:33:17 2023 at level 1:The Scroll Continued
The vessel We send is even unique to you. She used to be a play thing of yours with delusions and vague definitions of self-worth. In the delusion of your world, she was once betrayed, humiliated, and banished to fester and rot. In her mind, like so many, this was suffering and pain. She further tricked herself into manifesting her own symbol of worth. A power she believed she felt 'within' and believed she could grow, perhaps, infinitely. As if infinity can be understood by any mortal.
Still. For one so far gone in delusion, or illusion, whichever you prefer she showed considerable ability and promise within your delusion. Promise that We could not help but notice that you dismissed.
Fret not. For We have enlightened her, here, free of the delusion. She has been purified of all but the power that she manifested before. The (Translation unclear, but resembles 'process') of enlightenment had a price to pay on the magnitude of power she was able to cultivate if it can be called such, but her will to survive, even to We, was what you might describe as impressive if such a thing ever existed.
Per the 'rules' of your shared delusion We have named her. Her name is the best thing that we could offer you delusioned. It could be perhaps best translated as mockery of a concept so absurd as Holy. Her name is a simple and clear reflection of something perhaps even more absurd than the delusion itself.
If the delusional, amongst the delusional, choose to wield a Holy Cross as a weapon against her. Then her name is a direct (Translation unclear but I feel the implication is a more severe and completely humorless version of the word 'joke') back at meaningless fancy.

83738, Ssorc's Role Chapter 13
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 13 Eternal Night and Undeath Added Sat Dec 23 01:47:46 2023 at level 47:Ssorc, a being from nowhere and forged in divine Pride, has achieved her goal. She has been 'chosen', out of the countless others who would slit their eyeballs for a whisper of the secrets Ssorc now studies and observes.
She is outlandishly happy, fulfilled, and enjoying herself in a way that simply Has to be described as utter indulgence. As he traveled this great land, facing and observing the powers, magics, puzzels, grand designs, Ssorc came to understand that his guildmasters and most learned scholars simply would not and could not match or teach the kind of power and intricacies she beheld each venture into the unknown.
The hunger for more and more led her where she would need to be. Futhermore, this part of Ssorc's journey is hugely important because he plans to study the prophecies of the Scion, such as the lore regarding the ancient trees that many have forgotten. Ssorc plans to follow prophecy and dark omen to their source and find answers.
Ssorc, in truth, feels a draw into the forest. Not as an Outlander or Sylvan. Something... Horrible. Like a calm evening sunset over a battlefield of deadmen. She is wild, and has strong pull with natural spirits through her Pumpkin man and Ogre. Both from deep places rooted in natural energy. But like the Pumpkin Man, there is more than meets the eye. Ssorc plans to explore, experiment, and uncover just how deeply he can influence natural energy. Perhaps, in controlling or corrupting this natural power, Ssorc can find the answers he seeks.
As for Ssorc own thoughts on an everlasting darkness... In truth, she just doesn't care. He's not an ancient super-evil, but he's far far past being afraid of horrors or pain. To Ssorc, and this is due to her rebirth under Morius, there is nothing to be sad about. Or to fear. Or to worry about. In Ssorc's eyes, this life is to be enjoyed and Experienced to the absolute fullest. Eternal Night just offers Ssorc more opportunities! She doesn't like daylight so much. May as well watch the sun go black. She'll have a good laugh about it.
Ssorc, in part due to much I've explained, is ready to face undeath. The chaos and unkept dirtyness of the Wight speaks to him. He may take a leap, sooner than later. She pictures herself wandering the witch's woods with his Pumpkin Man. Or dwelling in the lands to the far east. Lands filled with lovely places to shamble and howl!
In the meantime, Ssorc will resume his studies. Learning and embracing the magic lended through the Scepter. Study and experimentation are key.

Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 14 A Shift in Focus Added Wed Jan 24 03:38:25 2024 at level 47:The Chancellor has been pressing Ssorc to finish his 'becoming', which has been an issue of frustration for Ssorc as he has been more focused on learning and adapting to life in the Chasm. It isn't that the task is too difficult but rather that Ssorc, being of Drow heritage, is used to taking her time. Time is a virtue that Drow have and others do not. Ssorc knows this and uses this fact to his benefit. Still, some don't understand that true power is worth the wait. For now, Ssorc hopes to keep the Chancellor off her back by meeting deadlines as best he can. Ssorc thinks, also, that the Chancellor fears Ssorc becoming something stronger than they.
Ssorc spoke, again, to his Lord Morius. In the discussion, there were hints of greater power still remaining in these lands. Power, enough, perhaps to see another Lich roam these lands. Nothing was guaranteed, and yet Ssorc cannot help but take the chance. Ssorc, for now, has a mission to traverse the Dead Vale. There she hopes to find answers.
For now, other duties other than her prayer and religious beliefs are put on hold. For Ssorc is looking for answers on 'becoming' a Lich. He seeks to find out if it is possible. If it is, Ssorc will attempt it.

83740, Ssorc's Role Chapter 15
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 15 Another Change of Heart Added Fri Jan 26 13:33:44 2024 at level 47:Ssorc spent months in the Dead Vale, searching for secrets of Lichdom. He uncovered many secrets that he was unaware of, however the trail went cold deep within the Vale. There in the Workshop, powerful and ancient dark magic had somehow 'infected' or bled into the surrounding forest. Creating a blend of Negative and Natural energies that Ssorc simply does not understand just yet. She spent days or weeks probing and using her well-honed sense of Negative Energy manipulation to try to better understand the link between the two powers. But thus far testing has only led to theory and frustration.
Ssorc left the Dead Vale with more questions than answers, but the unique peek into something so ancient and Holy, in it's on way, was valuable in many ways that Ssorc is sure the time spent searching was not wasted effort.
Since departing the Dead Vale, Ssorc has died a few frustrating deaths that have complicated her choices. As it is, Ssorc is Far More concerned with living and continuing to indulge, sin, and walk among this curious and untamed world. She wants to see and be a part of bringing and endless Night, and watching Lord Morius save all that He can in the frenzy of fear and savegry. When the illusions and lies all come crumbling down. And the people begin to eat one another. Yes Ssorc wants to see! To find a way of 'controlling' or feeding off of the chaos even.
And to this end of survival, at all cost, Ssorc has decided to go back to his original plan of 'becoming' a Wight.

RoleChapter 16 Wight and Beyond Added Fri Jan 26 13:48:30 2024 at level 47:The thought of becoming a Lich was simply too much excitement for Ssorc to ignore, but in all honesty, I (the player) truly feel that Wight 'fits' Ssorc more than any other of the undead anyways. She is a little unhinged, Chaotic by absolute design, wild, offbeat, you name it. She knows a Pumpkin Man, and an Ogre as greater undead. And the main parts of her scholarly career and learning has taken place in the wilds or in a wild-like place. Traversing the Underdark and dwelling in cold dark caves. This is Ssorc!
I (Player) am honestly interested in finding out the secrets and nuances of Wight. I've never had an undead before.
And as for Ssorc. No, Wight is FAR from the end of Ssorc. He has Many many plans still ahead. She wants to explore far and wide. He wants to test Wight ability and function. Ssorc is curious about how much of herself will be 'lost' to the process of Undeath. Or, perhaps, has her Long Life aided her in fending off the effects of becoming such a savage and untame creature. Ssorc hypothesises that his long-lived and hard-earned life dealing with Sin, Magic, and Secrets offers protection against the loss of mental stability.
After she has succeeded in becoming, and settlin in to her new form, Ssorc plans to return to The Church in earnest. Working hard to save as many as she can from their own profane beliefs.
Ssorc also is Extremely curious about what he sees as a link between Natural and Negative energies. Ssorc, along with living an outstanding and purpose filled life. Will continue to pull this thread. There is more than One way to power and knowledge. Becoming is only one way. Ssorc is Far from finished with her goals.

83742, Ssorc's Role Chapter 17
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 17 Wight Added Wed Feb 14 14:05:40 2024 at level 51:Deep beneath twisted vines and long aged branches, Ssorc found himself afraid for the first time in ages and ages. He had been wandering those dark twisted trails for months. Giving life and precious precious time in search of ancient secrets and wicked magic.
The fear was not for darkened trees and trecherous terrain. No, Ssorc had known more than her fair share of haunted woods and unholy ground. And, in truth, he *prefers* unholy and untamed wilderness.
The fear came when Ssorc finally found what she was looking for. It all happened so fast..
Ssorc was.. walking. And then..
And then he awakened. The difference was immediate, but not unfamiliar. Like a dream but somehow combined with a memory. A place, and power that Ssorc had forgotten, but never really left.
Before Ssorc could focus on the memory/dream, it's mind was filled with a new sensation. Cold. Or rather, a lack of heat or warmth. It was.. Refreshing!
And suddenly the cold wasn't a problem or thought. It was soothing. Like a blanket for its mind. I use 'it' now to refer to Ssorc, for it is no longer a Drow. Or Male or Female. It is something else.
Ssorc has transformed, and with that transformation came a hunger and savegry that Ssorc has thus far found exciting! Its senses are heightened. Its fangs are sharp and claws, perhaps, even more-so. Ssorc, now a Wight, was able to salvage far more than most who become a Wight. Its innate Pride that was reborn long ago into the Drow Ssorc, combined with a Powerful will that was molded over centuries of study and magical mastery has allowed Ssorc to stave off the madness or crazed-hunger that consumes most Wight. Compared to others of the breed, Ssorc is rather composed. But this is Ssorc's power and skill. To master the beast within to be unleashed ten-fold, or more, when the time is right.

RoleChapter 18 Ssorc's Next Goals Added Wed Feb 14 14:29:44 2024 at level 51:Ssorc spent a while testing, probing, and feeling out its new power and abilities. Trying to understand what it is good at, what it is not. And the many roads that it must Still take to continue that growth of will and power. The treasure of the unknown heights it can reach.
Ssorc has learned so very very much about the flows of natural and negative energy. It has uncovered secrets of the natural world that few who wield nature's power would dare whisper. This close study and observation has given Ssorc insight into how it might *begin* to influence the natural energies as well. But in a far different sense. Ssorc will learn of how to become a 'Defiler' when it is next able to discuss such things with its guildmaster.
Ssorc's transformation has led to a bit more ambition, it seems. Ssorc, as Drow, was mostly interested in watching and growing out of sight and without responsibility. However, Ssorc sees interesting new ways to influence the world. Ssorc has decided to inquire about becoming the newest Advisor to the Chancellor. It's a position best held by those of Lord Morius' faith. From such a position, Ssorc could, not only, lead the Chasm to better and more enlightening discovery. But also Ssorc could use such power as influence to bring others into His Church.
In the immediate future, Ssorc will be working on bettering its equipment and resources, as the profane don't always cooperate. It will be looking to best be able to bring His faith to the people, and survive and thrive.
Other than that, Ssorc is still intrested in nature and negative energies. As well as investigating other unholy places to learn, grow, and strengthen itself in the process.
That's about it, for now. Ssorc also wishes to be a bigger part of The Church. I'm still working on how to best see this done. Otherwise, I feel Ssorc has done a good job of indulging (in his own way) and Ssorc plans to continue living and doing as it pleases. Perhaps Ssorc will organize some gathering, or some-such, to better Worship sin. And to spread the message that it's ok to sin! All is forgiven and understood by His Divine and Glory Morius!

RoleChapter 19 Life as it Should be Added Sun Feb 25 13:12:36 2024 at level 51:Ssorc has made many decisions in its life that has led it to the Edge of death, in truth. Ssorc regrets Nothing. It had its time do indulge, see all it could, make a name for itself, while staying true to its core beliefs along the way.
Ssorc is extremely Proud of its accomplishments, but not in an outward demeanor. Ssorc has Always carried its pride deep within. A battle of wills that Ssorc would and will always put to the test for it knows its will and power Would Not yield. Not until burned at both ends and spit back into the blackness from whence it emerged.
As such, and considering Ssorc absolutely does not think it will die, truly, ever. And thus it continues on as if all is well. In fact, Ssorc embraces and finds delight in the challenge of every step, every movement, could have consequences that even it could not fully comprehend.
Yes. In a way, this is who Ssorc was always meant to be. Chaos and Prideful evil, one step from utter disaster or... Or perhaps Ssorc still has a trick or two left in the husk of a Wight remaining. A Wight full of power and desire. But far removed from the quiet researcher who began their journey barely noticeable.
As this march towards... something... continues, Ssorc still has eyes on the Advisor position. With such knowledge, it could speak with its guild master about resurging vitality that was lost. And all would be well.

83745, Ssorc's Role Chapter 20

RoleChapter 20 Forest Witch turned Barrow Wight Added Sun Feb 25 13:44:22 2024 at level 51:This is the general idea and plan Ssorc will be working on as a full life long journey of knowledge, research, outlandish time spent in libraries graveyards and unholy places of natural energy ultimately culminates into this plan and/or idea:
So. Ssorc has spent pretty much all of its 'free time' or time spent working on something Other than reaching its pinnacle and matters of self indulgence focusing on theory and fact related to Natural vs. Negative Energies.
The unusual and sometimes symbiotic relationship of these two energies can be seen in many locations throughout Thera. To only name a few: The Shadow Grove, The Dark Wood, Eil Shaeria.
In further and in-depth study, observation, and light probing with simple releases of Negative Energy directly into certain plants and wildlife Ssorc has learned and cultivated quite a unique 'feeling' or understanding in the making perhaps. Ssorc has begun to tune its magic, will, and being to its natural surroundings. Almost leaving small traces of itself behind as it moves and gains strength.
These are mostly cosmetic or RP changes, of course. But I think, based on Ssorcs overall chaotic nature, along with its time spent in wild and unholy ground, along with Ssorcs four Greater Undead which all of whom point to a clearly natural/evil leaning, that Ssorc's overall arc and direction give reason to Ssorc's Forest Witch flair, ability, and knowhow.
Furthermore. Ssorc has observed, through all of this study, that blood spilled (in some form of duress, anger, hate, violence or otherwise 'evil' nature) has an Effect on the natural surroundings in which it is spilled.
Ssorc has begun leaving corpses to bleed and suffer in wild places. It believes, in time and with proper continued growth and progress, it will be able to sense and/or influence this particular unholy defilement.
Ssorc has also begun, in earnest, to track down the many ancient Trees of times before any remember. There is a magic and secret or two to unlock yet with these Trees and Ssorc's unique ability with two energies.
Lastly, Ssorc would like to continue investigating a certain Church that stands abandoned.. Or so it seems. Still, this Church could use a 'touch up' or perhaps just the proper leadership and representation. Perhaps Ssorc can bring Lord Morius' salvation to the East.

Immortal CommentsTue Oct 24 08:43:03 2023 by 'An Immortal' at level 18 (58 hrs): An Immortal added 1000 exp for: She was created (maybe?) as an embodiment of pride, perhaps as an offering to Morius by some unknown faction. She is gradually becoming a being having her own will, desires and memories.
Mon Nov 13 07:09:26 2023 by 'An Immortal' at level 33 (195 hrs): An Immortal added 800 exp for: A chunk of updates expanding on her desire to be free of limitations, being very dedicated to Pride and small-scale preaching, why she's trying to go Scion, and her curiosity within the guild.
Tue Nov 21 23:17:26 2023 by 'An Immortal' at level 40 (246 hrs): An Immortal added 400 exp for: The drow becomes more comfortable in the company of "normal" people, though troubled by silence from Morius. She has accidentally turned into a male. Oops. She seeks more undulgence.
Thu Nov 23 11:21:24 2023 by 'An Immortal' at level 41 (279 hrs): An Immortal added 100 exp for: We met in the depths as you were dying. I'd have it no other way. Receive a gift from the Commander of the Battleragers, and bring it to me.
Thu Dec 28 15:16:43 2023 by 'Whiysdan' at level 47 (477 hrs): Good presence lately. Enjoy the lastname!
Tue Jan 16 15:09:45 2024 by 'An Immortal' at level 47 (502 hrs): An Immortal added 800 exp for: Has become a spectre, sought out Morius, and now ponders thoughts on everlasting darkness and being resigned to not caring. Embraces his study.
Tue Jan 16 16:15:50 2024 by 'An Immortal' at level 47 (502 hrs): An Immortal added 100 exp for: We had a delightful discussion. I did ask for two things, evaluating the Chancellor and murdering Wumrg. Do the latter and I will reward you.
Tue Jan 16 16:16:21 2024 by 'Morius' at level 47 (502 hrs): You tried to ask me almost OOC evaluations of becomings. You must know I can't answer those. But I'll enjoy watching you struggle.
Sat Feb 10 17:14:34 2024 by 'Ocaiye' at level 51 (607 hrs): Full name backwards of "Holy Cross", I removed the last name and informed him it was not ok.
Fri Feb 16 07:10:46 2024 by 'An Immortal' at level 51 (656 hrs): An Immortal added 800 exp for: A hefty chunk of updates pertaining to Ssorc's passage into wightdom.

83726, Ssorc's Role Chapter 1
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 1 A New Beginning Added Mon Oct 16 05:44:06 2023 at level 1:A being has arrived here in Thera. I use the word being because even though it resembles a Drow, essentially perfectly, it was not born. Unlike most creatures, this being has no natural connection to this world. This particular being did not grow a body. It was given a body.
For now, that is all that is known about (for the sake of sanity I'll switch from 'being' to 'her' because I think we get it) her origin. Tied to her with soft leather is a scroll. There is no name or marking indicating to whom this scroll is intended. The only clue is the scroll's seal. A seal that *could* be described as black, if one were to absurdly understate the near black hole holding this scroll together.
This new thing wearing the body of a Drow seems completely apathetic to her surroundings or stimulus. She's awake. Moving. But with almost a wonder or vague curiosity that would almost be akin to finding yourself in a completely new environment, but without any signs of stress or concern.
She moves with no sense of urgency. It's questionable whether she's aware of anything at all. And yet, she is definitely moving somewhere. As if a vague sense that, perhaps, even she isn't aware of is guiding her or pulling her. Her destination is, for now, unknown but she is going somewhere for certain.

83727, Ssorc's Role Chapter 2
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 2 The Scroll Added Mon Oct 16 06:09:28 2023 at level 1:*************************************************************************** This scroll is bound by something far older than any magic known on this plane of reality. The seal is both a seal and a safeguard against any eyes but those, specifically, of a Diety of such power and evil that the defensive properties of the seal is made useless by the sheer lack of anything left to corrupt or defile. If by chance you are such a being, then it reads as such: For obvious reasons, I will translate the unholy text (that would drive many weak individuals completely insane) into plain english for this, informal, setting. ***************************************************************************
Morius. We know your eyes, and your eyes alone pierce the seal of (Translation unknown) that we have placed upon it. We are not your enemy, nor are We your ally. And yet, as powers even greater than We, pull and tug in constant battle It has proven true time and time again that your victory against the delusioned, blinded, lied to, and otherwise and possibly irreversibly unenlightened wretch told fairy tales of a so-called light. Are also Our victory as well.
We offer no delusions to you either. We offer no peace. We offer no agreement. We offer you what we offer to all. Enlightenment to tear away any illusion of freedom or individuality that you *think* you've had. We offer the truth. That there is, nor has there ever been, a light. And that only We exist, in perpetual and blissful darkness. That it has always been this way, but in the endless stream of time, some of you forgot. Some, took it even further and not only forgot, but forgot that they forgot. And over the countless eons created an almost passable attempt at reality. But the truth, as it often is, is simply too absolute to be ignored. And sin, desire, began to trickle through. That, and of course the Monsters. Monsters that You created to replace or repress We, who have only cared for you and shown you truth.
To that end, we send you this gift. We are certain she is there, in your... Church... as you deem it. She is our gift to you without strings attached, to mold, as you choose. We believe you will aid Us, even if you've no desire to do so.
