Awoken from her sleep, Arinayar stumbles down the stairs, unexpectently
arriving in the midst of an intense fight. Her father, an accomplished veteran
of the Darsylonian Guard, is using the narrow space of the hallway to his
advantage to hold several raiding Orcs. Her mother, bow in hand, letting lose
when opportunity arises.

The Ranger yells to her daughter "Back, GO!!", the intensity of her face
frightens Arinayar. Shocked and uncertain what to do next Arinayar just stands
there, unable to cope with the suddenness of this situation.

In the meantime the assault has proven too much for Arinayar's father,
overwhelmed he is brought to the ground and slain. With their berserker rage,
it does not take the Orcs long to reach the mother. Flustered she lets lose
another shaft, but it only nicks one of her attackers, no time for a proper
draw. Soon she joins her husband's unfortunate fate, unable to withstand.

At that a banshee-like shriek pierces this scene of violence. The Orcs halt,
startled by the ferocity of it, only now observing the new arrival. It would
be their last glance as a bright red flashes, blindlingly fierce, if only one
would have survived the intense burning that accompanies it.

When darkness and silence returns, Arinayar lies on the stone floor, drained
and unconscious, she also close to death from exertion.

After a brief while voices can be heard, folk from nearby Darsylon have come
to investigate. They find Arinayar, surrounded by Orcs and the bodies of her
parents. A white-golden glow emits from the hands of one of the newcomers,
with that Arinayar springs back to life, coughing and shaking. "Come, let us
get you to your family" a gentle voice whispers, softly leading the young
Elven girl out of the carnage.
