Description

A majestic, massive cloud giant image stands imposing before
you. His giant form is well chiseled and designed. Its flesh
is a bright ashen blue-white, shiny, and reflects the sun like
a pool of water on a spring day. Bright eyes glimmer in the
wind-touched flesh, polished to a sheen. There is a sense of
flighty-ness with its movements and demeanor. His belongings
are built to avoid weight and he seems to carry only what is
truly needed.

Chapter 5

A Rise through the Huts, Realities of War

The village has been quite empty for some time. The coming and
going of a few veterans of the village, the Commander, the
Drillmaster, and sometimes the Mageslayer, but no real new
blood. Yoomar spent many days walking the lands hunting and
fighting the enemies, the mages, the magic, without seeing
many other souls who would fight the war against the mages.

And then one day, the air turned cold, and the land decided
to look down on the village with the stare of death. Death
came like a rolling thunder. Arietta died, then the Mageslayer,
then another cloud ranger, and more and more. After it was
over, the only one left was Xzelyn, the Drillmaster.

Enemies sent messengers of the weakness of the village. They
rejoiced in the shadow of death visiting the Huts. This made
Yoomar very angry. He sought out to press them all so they
know the Huts are very much alive.

During this time soon after, Xzelyn was elevated to Commander.
Upon noticing this, Yoomar thought it was time that the ways
of the Burning Plains Clouds was brought to the village and
put himself forward for Drillmaster. To teach these ways of
swift strikes, and quick fall backs, coupled with very quick
recovery with the support of the bounty of herbs and healing
the plains provide. These kinds of strikes are key to breaking
large seiges and defenses and before they can counter, to melt
back and wait to draw them out.

Yoomar's wish came true, as Xzelyn spoke to him, and then
the Lord Panmorne came down himself while Yoomar toyed with
the fires upon his bow. They spoke briefly and it was shown
it was time for those teachings to come to the village. In return
as well as the dire state of the Huts, Lord Panmorne also
taught Yoomar to have a keener eye for weakness, something
he still hones to this day. Welcome the new Drillmaster, Yoomar!

Chapter 4

Focus on Healing and Herbalism

Yoomar, while part of his tribe, was a budding herbalist. He
was young at the time of the Coming of the War, but already
was adapt at prairie herbalism and all the plants and roots
that could assist in healing and protection. Yoomar has focused
and will continue to focus now (previous for his Tribe and now
his new Tribe, the village) on enhancing the herbalism knowledge
to allow for better recovery and healing. He is also going
to scour the lands for plants and roots that assist actively
in protecting the one consuming them, and resistin great
curses and magics.

There are rumored to be eaten food, not magical, that will
help in that, and this is where his main focus will be.

Chapter 3

Neutrality, Wilds, and the Soul of Yoomar

Cloud giants are known for their neutrality. Not taking sides
or doing so only to accomplish goals then reverting back
to that stance. This neutrality although has turned to
a rallying cry for Yoomar. While magic did this, the war
also did this. The expanse and carelessness of powers within
Thera that care not for the small ones. Imperial, Fortress,
Tribunal, Scion, they are all the same. Even the Outlanders
with their abuses in magic, cause unknowning damage while
they attempt to protect.

Therefore those opposite of Yoomar's heart and soul are his
enemies. Mages are first, but the rest are not wholely spared.
The commanders bring the murder, and magic is their weapon.
In times of great anger, Yoomar will go to extremes to execute
the wrongdoers in his eyes.

Those of neutral nature, that are not mages, and in part those
part of Outlander, who are not mages, seem to be spared this
wrath. As they are making attempts to preserve and not simply
destroy.

Chapter 2

Magic Fire, Magic Clouds, Magic Ends

The natural causing fires brought by lightning strikes and other
natural causes, was part of the cycle of the plains. The Burning
Plains thrived with the coming burnings and the clouds that came
and put out the fires quickly and all thrived. This ended when
the war came. Imperial and Fortress wars happen endlessly, but
they avoided anything that came to the Burning Plains as none
saw a value in it. All they saw was fire and smoke periodically
and humanoid fear of fire kept them away.

But for some unknown reason, a reason only known to war, this
was the day the battleground was to be the Burning Plains. As
the heat of the day came, magical lightning lit fires on the
plains, outside of the normal cycle. The cloud giant people
could not understand why the fire burned so hot and without
much fuel. Then came the clouds of noxious gas that were once
thought to be the saving clouds full of rain, but instead they
burned flesh and poisoned springs. More beings came upon
the plains battling, from magical monsters, thought to be
native lions, but instead oversized monsters built for blood-
shed. Necromancers drained life from the surrounding plants
as they spit their negative energy, leaving a scar that would
prove never to heal. The Burning Plains knew how to deal
with carrion and normal bloodshed, but this magical side
was never ending and never extinquishing. There was nothing
left to do but to flee or die.

Most of the Burning Plain Tribe died in the pyres of magical
fire and burning clouds. The warfare was brief, yet another
mindless battlefield for the Fortress and the Empire, but
in its wake, complete devastation of a whole community and
society that sought refuge and isolation.

The weather, the fire, and the plains itself turned against
Yoomar's people, due to magic. What was left was no longer
the Burning Plains, but an ashen expanse not explainable in
nature. It was the end, and Yoomar had nothing left but to
return the favor.

Chapter 1

The Burning Plains

There are places in Thera that are both beautiful and brutal. One is
the Burning Plains.This place is called the Burning Plains due to the
natural way the land resets itselfthroughout its history. Periodically
the prairies and plains experience flash fires that cross through it
at high speed. These fires are very quick, and do not burn extremely hot.
Instead they burn away the undergrowth of older, dry grasses and wheat
and reset the land to flourish again. This is where Yoomar's cloud giant
clan has taken up their home. Due to their ability to fly and how they build
their structures housed in the few trees that easily survive the fire,
the fires are not dreaded, but instead looked forward to. They revitalize
the wheat and food and let the new growth come back stronger and much
more robust.
This is how they lived. Running the plains, hunting and living successfully
for many generations. Due to how the flash fires on this plains happen
many other humanoids avoided the place completely. But this all changed
when they came.
