Shami, a summary

* Shami is born into poverty, educated by the orphanage at Balator, but learns
very little there. Clever as she is, she however aced reading and writing
before heading out to find her own way

* As a street urchin she learned to fend for herself but never scored it big
because of her morals. She does not hesitate to take what she needs, but is
not willing to do harm to those who are worse off still

* She has disrupted a ritual causing her body to be filled with intersecting
multi-colored lines that flare up when she focuses her thoughts on the element
that matches it

* Using that newly acquired talent she leaves her previous behind and now has
an act to please the passing crowd, with some success she is able to pay for
regular lodgings at the Drunken Efreeti

* One day she is greeted by the Galadon Invokers' Guild guildmaster who
convinces her to come with him and be trained as an Invoker. As he mentions,
it is for the best to avoid yet another tragedy

* When she leaves the Guild as a level 1 Invoker, she heads into the Academy,
eager to learn all that she can so that she can continue whatever research
Therlonius Dragonfire was doing. There is much to learn still if she is ever
to understand it all!

* Combining the skills she has gathered during her youth, harsh as it was,
with the training she received at the Guild, she decides that it would be best
for her to join the Heralds of the Eternal Star

* Dedicated to achieving Elemental Purity and eager to learn the knowledge
that requires, she sets out to follow Ishuli
