A slight adolescent, he stands a hand shorter than six feet tall. His
Limbs appear almost mismatched, all knees and elbows, clearly still growing
Out to his full size. Similarly, his hands and feet seem disproportionate to
His slender frame. His fingers, while large, seem deft even as they are
Capped by ragged and torn fingernails. His expression seems pained, the skin
Drawn too close across his skull, and the tightness at the corners of his eye
And mouth all too apparent on such a young face. His eyes, however, remain
Bright and shine gold with his extra planar essence. Hair that gleams of a
Vibrant golden glow cascades around his shoulders. This golden glows seem to
Flow, from the ends of his voluminous crown, into slight strands that
Transform into a magnificent tattoo. The ribbons of gold form ritualistic
Bands that wrap the circumference of his neck before sweeping down his chest
Into his collar and disappearing from view.

Chapter 1

I was born

Searing, tearing, piercing horrendous pain and agony. Flashes of pure white
light and raging darkness. Pulling, tugging, pinching, yanking, savage winds
of change. Loss, no control, sadness. What in the abyss is happening!!


Eyes open only a hair's breadth through massive fatigue. He can see two
figures from what seems to be a concrete slab upon which he lay. He doesn't
dare move in the slightest for fear of the unknown. A terrible sense of loss
fills his mind, heart and soul.He does all he can to keep from crying as a
single tear runs from the corner of his eye, down his cheek and past a small
ear lobe.


Dammit! Not another failure you moron! Thats the thirteenth one in a
row! You are supposed to be able to bring them in from the abyss not the
azure planes! I need a demon, not a damned prissy little lightborn
mongrel! said the gravelly voiced necromancer to the conjurer he hired for
his experiments. I need DEMONS for the children of a darkened army. I
didnt kill all the kids around here for them to be wasted on the light!
Kill it and bring me the next one. We will get this right by the end of the
night.


The conjurer sobbed softly and removed the child from view. He quickly
glanced over his shoulder and leaned over the softly glowing boy. He
whispered I know you can hear me and I am so sorry for taking you from an
eternity of nirvana. I cannot do much but give you a small chance to
survive. He leaned over the child as he grabbed the dagger from the stone
slab. He inched closer to a chute in the wall while feigning cutting the
childs throat. He slid the child into the opening and whispered once more
Survive and I am sorry.


*THUMP* Landing roughly on what feels like fleshy stones Ricen rolls down the
small hill to a cold stone floor. He takes a moment to survey his
surroundings without making much movement. Where am I? He thought.
What the hell just happened to me!? He listens and hears no movement or
voices. He opens his eyes and finds he is staring directly into the eyes of a
small child. This child lies at the bottom of a pile of 12 others that have
had their throats cut and all seem to be around the age of 5 to 7 years old.
With a start of horror he bolts upright. What in the abyss! He screams
hoarsely barely over a whisper. He hears his voice and is confused. Its
the voice of a small child. He looks himself up and down slowly and finds
hes just like the other children, close in age and has a slight glow.
Oh no, what happened? He said with horrified wonder.

Chapter 2

The Streets

Crawling through a small sewer filled with refuse rats and spiders, Ricen
emerged upon some cobblestone back alley. Thinking quickly he found some
rags to cover and hide his naked glowing body. He walked to the edge of the
alley and peered around the corner.


I have no idea where I am, how I got here and why I am a child again. I
have got to get some shelter and think all this over. He thought to
himself.


What Ricen will discover over the next couple years of living on the streets
is that he was part of an experiment that had him ripped from the azure
fields and planted into the body of a child. These children were to be raised
and trained to be a powerful army of darkness. Apparently the very night he
was born again the Necromancer got what he wanted and the conjurer was
successful in bringing for an entity from the abyss. He over shot...he
brought a huge devil that immediately eviscerated the necromancer upon being
violently yanked from the abyss and not summoned. He slew the conjurer out of
spite and played around like a kitten with a mouse for a bit before doing so.


Over the years growing up on the streets Ricen found himself in many a fight
with local bullys. Not because he was being picked on but because he could
not stand the thought of someone being picked on for being smaller, or nicer
or even just for standing in the wrong place at the wrong time.Ricen was
not a good fighter but he was fairly proficient at talking bullys down or
even taking a beating so someone else didnt have to. He found he was
pretty good at healing up after a good beating due to his lightborn nature
from the azure plane.


When he was about 15 or so he came upon a small crested shield just laying in
the middle of the road through Hamsah MuTazz. He went to pick it up and
was stopped by two feet within his gaze, appearing next to the shield, as he
bent over. Do you like it? he heard a confident voice say. Ricen looked
up to find the local guildmaster standing over him with a dignified air.
Aye, that I do but I also like a good pint of ale and strong woman. I
thought if I sold it, I might get both. He said with a wink. The
guildmaster grinned ear to ear and said Why not come with me. Ill show
you how to use it to protect those who cant protect themselves. And I have
ale to spare. As for the women. We will talk about that after some training
and discipline.

Chapter 3

The Tribunal and A God?

Training amongst the other paladins within the guild was a great boon
Ricens soul and mind. He found that through prayer and discipline that
anything is possible. He even found out how to make a damned fine ale. (He
lost the recipe a while ago) He also learned of many gods and their roles in
the world of Thera, though he found some of them to be less than likeable.
He also ventured the lands learning with travelers he would come across along
the road. He eventually came across a few tribunals that were seeking some
aid with learning. He took them along his venture and found they were very
amenable and had many MANY of the same beliefs and ideas he did about the
defense of others. After a couple more years of venture with the tribunals he
sought to become one of them and did so upon his 30th title and 18th year!


When speaking with the provincial magistrate they spoke of a god known as
Whiysdan. He is highly spoken of and comes with great reviews and is always
in for a good story. At least that is what Ricen is told.
