Twin of Woes

I sat for long upon a rock,
To nurse a twin of woes,
I was their only mother,
And you know how nursing goes,

They stole the pleasures of the day,
My best friends passed me by,
But even so I loved my twins,
And could not let them die.

Let me sleep... let me be,
Blanketed... with thoughts of thee.

I cannot blame them on a man,
For never was I sworn,
But just imagine I one woe,
And duplicates were born.

The old and young, the bold of tongue,
They sing of Rarywey,
And when their final song is sung,
The twins have naught to say.
