Trench Digging to Squireship

Garzolaf Olafson is the red-bearded, eldest son of Olaf Garzoson. He's
gruff, brusque, and direct, although not without a sense of humor at
times. His fuse can be short and while he ultimately means well, he is
not known for his finesse.

He comes from a family of trench diggers in Mortorn. And the hard,
grueling work his family does to protect their home every day- Ma, Pa,
brothers and sisters alike toiling away, was not lost on Garzolaf. He
left when he was old enough to ease the burden of the war-time rations on
his family. They had a large family, and eight dwarves on a single
family's rations made things tight.

He was expecting to find honest work out in Thera, planning to send gold
back to his family to provide their base needs. However it soon became
apparent that the situation in Thera was as bad, if not worse, than
Mortorn. Unwilling to go back to Mortorn to burden his family, and
sensing there was work to do here, Garzolaf grabbed a spear and began to
train. He favors the spears and staves because they handle similarly to
shovels that he used to dig trenches with. The maces he chose, as they
remind him of the hammers they used to set up the support beams in the
trenches as well.

As he continued to train, he set his site upon the Fortress. A
like-minded group, intent on beating back the darkness. Their interests
lie with his own. Now he is intent on doing the Olafson Garzoson clan
proud and leaving his legacy among the fabled Holy Brigade.
