Description

This aged elf stands before you quite short for one her kind. Her long
rose blonde hair falls down her back in a voluminous, curling cascade.
Single silvery white strands of hair glint when the light catches them
just right as she moves about the area with fluid grace. Her long,
pointed elven ears poke out of the wavy mane like smooth rocks from
a raging river. Thin, subtle wrinkles can be seen on the outer edges
of her eyes and mouth which become more accentuated when she laughs or
smiles. Her milky smooth skin is otherwise clean and unblemished. She
is slightly pudgy with thin shoulders and full wide hips giving her an
adorable comeliness. Her large round light blue eyes exude an almost
child-like excitement adding a loving playfulness to her already welcoming
countenance.

Jhanderin
shrugged and said, "She is cheery and good student. I fail to see the
problem." "Oh so you aren't annoyed by her at all then? I mean, just look at
the floor in here. You are telling that you do not have any problem with
her?" Just then, Dohri walked back into the guild giving them the same wave
and smile as she had when she left. Jhanderin looked at Dohri and then to
Dorothy and said in a whisper, "Not at all. As I said she is a good student
with a cheerful disposition". Dorothy and Jhanderin stared at each other for
a few seconds. "Now, if there is nothing else, my dear Dorothy, I think that
I will spend some time with my student to..." Jhanderin paused his sentence
as both Dorothy and he looked down to see the fresh deluge of spring water
splash over their shoes as Dohri hummed and chanted on the other side of the
guild. Dorothy looked at looked up at Jhanderin with a smirk. Jhanderin
cleared his throat, straightened his robes and opened the tome again to
resume his studies. He did not bother to dry his shoes.

Chapter 1

Wounded Soul

Lord Danellan had always been someone that she had looked up to. Someone that
she had always wanted to impress and perhaps feelings of love had always been
in the back of her mind since she could remember. What was happening to her
now seemed like a nightmare. She had never dreamed she would see such an
emotion on his face, in his eyes and directed at her.
His eyes seemed to burn
with a fire that she had never seen and his face almost contorted in a snarl
that made him look terrifying and hideous to her. He spoke in a shaking and
yet eerily calm voice to her. "I find myself struggling to contain my
rage. I cannot start to think about what was in you mind when you decided to
aid one so vile. Such an act cannot be forgiven, should not be forgiven. I do
not need to tell you the history of those vile beings nor do I need to tell
you the history of your own people and the relationship we have with them.
You should know better."
She bowed her head and said sheepishly, "I only
sought to aid something in need. I only wanted to help it."
The elven Lord
slammed his fist down on the desk making her start and step back in fear as
he shouted, "And what of us! What of your own kind?! Shall we not be so
blessed as to have you consideration?!"
"I..I did not think it had any effect
on us. I did not know they would do that." she said.
"Any aid you give to them makes them stronger, which in turn, makes us weaker.
Now our blood soaks the ground...and for what?" Danellan said in a restrained
but still trembling voice.


She could not think of any response. Lord Danellan sat at his desk. His face
had turned from the snarl of rage to his usual stoic expression and he looked
at her with cold eyes saying, "There are penalties beyond what we can do, but
I shall pronounce the judgement that we have chosen for you. You are to leave
this place and never come back under pain of death. You have lost the
privilege of carrying the name Vorondil and shall be know by us hence forth
as Huta-Fea." He rose from his desk again," Only one thing comforts me from
this. That your mother and father's death has kept them from knowing what you
have done."


She does not remember that day of leaving Darsylon or of walking the Inn
where she would eventually stay the night. She awoke the next day with weight
of the past days events still fresh in her mind like a wound that had had
time to fester. She felt something different though. Something off, other
worldly. She felt unclean and stricken down and it was to be a feeling that
never went away, a wound in her soul that never healed completely.

Chapter 2

The Elf and the Orc (part 1)

She had found the temple in the mountains, having gone up the river and found
the steps. She now sat in silent meditation, listening to the breeze and
sounds of the mountain around her. Every once in a while she could make out
the sounds and lower voices of the twins in the garden which gave her comfort
and alleviated some of the intense loneliness that she had felt since her
exile. Though she tried not to think about it, she would always find herself
thinking about that horrible day.

walking in the forest hoping that I would run into Lord Danellan. I heard
that he had gone out on patrol to investigate whispers of orcs in the area.
Walking the forest trail, a guttural roar broken the silence followed by a
high-pitched squeal as if something in pain. I pause for a few
seconds...nothing, nothing..silence. Then stomping and the cracks of branches
in just ahead in the trail behind me. I move quietly to the clearing where I
heard the ruckus and see a huge beast of an orc on the ground, covered in
blood. I smell the stench of his blood and body already and the closer I get,
the more repulsive his is. His iron armor is hideously adorned with half
rotted skulls and fur with blood caked on it. As if the iron were not enough
there is something in me that is crying out about him. "Wrong. Twisted.
Vile". But there came a whimper from him. Through his heavy breathing almost
to faint to hear. A whimper of something that is helpless and scared and
alone. I am moved by something beyond my repulsion. I begin to dress his
wounds without regard to my repulsion or reason even burning myself on his
armor but I keep going. And I begin to pray, calling on the gods of Light.
The bleeding stops, the breathing slows and the whimpering in silenced.
"Ha!, looks like you did our work for us!", I hear in a familiar elven voice
behind me. Lord Danellan is behind me just emerging from the woods into the
clearing. He has a smile on his face, but as he walks closer, his cheerful
expression changes, first to inquisitive then to confused then to angry.
"What have you done", he says. I am looking at him. I am at a loss for words.
"What have I done?" I hear a soft chuckle behind me and turn to face a the
wide toothy grin of the beast that I had aided as his rose from the ground.

Chapter 3

The Elf and the Orc (part 2)

The beast rose above me with that horrible smile on his face. With a quick
jerk of his head he looked at Lord Danellan who was had already drawn his
sword. The beast lunged at the Danellan and torn the elf's sword from his
hand with his teeth and, picking the elf lord off his feet with ease, brought
him down across his knee. Danellan lay on the ground and did not move. Just
then, two more guards come through the brush and attack. I feel a crack to my
head and see stars. I think I remember hearing the crash of sword and when I
come to, I am on the ground. The beast is standing over the corpses of the
guards. Oh, gods..He has skinned one of them. Is..is he putting the guards
blood into his water skin? He drinks from the skin and I see his skin color
deepen and his muscles seem to grow and surge. The beast throughs the skin on
the ground and licks his lips. He smiles again and speaks pointing to
Danellan, "Imma guess that one's a Lord or somethin". "Hmph, him imma keep.
Maybe them elves'll pay something fur him!" he says, "Bu'for you, I got
somethin sweeter on mah'mind. Bu'ah got somethin tah do first. Jus wait right
here. Ah'll be back mah savior!". He hits me again. I wake in my home. I can
only one one eye from the wounds that I took. The healer that attends me will
not look me in the eye or answer my questions...

The beast had continued to my beloved Darsylon. The temple was defiled, the
priests there in were killed including my mother and without Danellan there,
many guards, my father being in their ranks fell to the beast as well.


I am lost these days. I should seek forgiveness. I do not know how. There is
a power to mercy that I had never know of before that day. I shall never
again us it without considering the weight of it's actions. I do not think
that is enough..

Chapter 4

Moving Day

She had felt odd all morning. Her day had started out routine enough. She
woke in the healer's guild in Voralian City and practiced her supplications a
little bit longer than she usually did. She realized that she was putting off
her plan today. Today she moving to Voralian City. Her plan that she did not
want to go through but she needed to do. She spoke with Cardinal of the
Fortress, a beautiful elven man she had always thought, about a loan. She met
him at the temple in Hamsah to borrow enough gold and set out to register at
Galadon for her new home. She could feel a knot in her throat getting worse
as she walked into the Registry and paid the fee. Walking out of build she
had to step aside out of the roadway to gather herself as emotion overcame
her momentarily. She gathered herself and wiped the tears from eyes and
continued down the road. There was work to be down, after all.

Why had I been so sad that day? I guess it was the act of moving put a
permeance to my exile. It was a sign that I had begun to accept it and was
changing my life because of it. You see, I realized that my redemption was
not to come. At least not in the way that I thought. I had spent so much time
thinking, planning, scheming about how it was going to make it up my people
for the thing that I had done. How I was to do a deed that would make them
accept me again so that I could go home. This was flawed thinking though, I
think. My presence, I realized made them think of the flaw in their own kind.
I represent what can happen when someone does not understand the implication
of their actions. I make them doubt themselves. I remind them of that
horrible day. Worst of all, I bring anger and hate to their hearts. I cannot
fix the effect that I have on them...not really. There are some things that
you cannot make up for and all a person can do is accept that they made a
mistake and try not to repeat it. I made a horrible mistake. My heart is
broken, and I will shoulder the burden of that failure for my entire life. To
make things right with my people, I will respect their wishes, and simply
stay away. I am in exile and shall stay that way. I will use my heartbreak to
always remind me of the mistakes that I am capable of and to not repeat them.


I will never return to Darsylon for the remainder of my days. So that I will
never inspire darkness in the hearts of my people with my presence. Azorinne
guild me and keep me..

Chapter 5

You do not like Dohri? pt one

It was morning in Voralian City. The air was just cool enough for Dorothy to
see her exhaled breath as she walked toward the Healer's guild to deliver
some fresh bread and assorted goods she had just finished with her special
ingredients. Walking through the breezeway and past the guard, she saw
Jhanderin leaning forward against a podium, his chin resting lazily in his
palm as he looked through an ancient-looking tome, slowly turning its yellow,
rigid pages. Dorothy felt the usual excited flutter in her chest as she
walked up to Jhanderin. "Such a handsome man", she thought. The flutter sank
when she heard the chanting and humming of the familiar elven maiden that had
been in the guild more and more lately and much to much, Dorothy thought.
Jhanderin looked up from his study and gave Dorothy a slight smile. "Hello,
Dorothy." he said closing his book. "Hello, Jhanderin", Dorothy said as she
looked him over and noticed that his robes looked damp at the bottom along
with the floor around him. She noticed that the entire in the guild was wet
in varying degrees around the room. "What happened here..why are your robes
wet?" Dorothy asked as she unconsciously grabbed her shirt and apron to
pulled them up slightly off the floor. "Oh that is just one of my
students..She has been practicing one of her communes." Jhanderin in a flat
tone with subtle tone of annoyance. Dohri passed by them on her way out of
the guild. She waved at them both and gave them a large smile as she bounced
past the guard. Dorothy's gaze followed the elf out then she gave Jhanderin
at flat look and cut her eyes up and stuck her tongue out of the side of her
mouth lightly. Jhanderin chuckled, "You do not like Dohri?" Dorothy looked at
him for a couple of seconds with a blank expression and backed up a few
steps. Dorothy bent down with her knees together with her hands clasped on
her cheeks, batted her eyelashes and exclaimed, "Oh my, it is so wonderful to
meet you!" Dorothy the straightened her posture and walked up to Jhanderin
grabbing his arm and again exclaimed using the same exagerated tone, "Oh, you
have a splinter in you thumb. Oh, I am sooo happy for you! That is truly
wonderful! Azorinne bless us all!" Jhanderin furrowed his brow with a crooked
smile of mild amusement. "Tell me that girl does not irritate you." Dorothy
said. She continued "What does she even do here so much? Practice her
communes? I mean does she have anywhere else to go or anything else to do?"
"I do not think that I should complain about one my students being to
dedicated to learning what I have taught them." Jhanderin said. Dorothy went
on, "And why is she so bloody cheery all the time. Have you ever seen her
without that silly smile on her face. What, she is never in a bad mood?" "You
mark my words, Jhanderin. The girl is hiding something..or there's simply no
much up there." Dorothy mused as she pointed to her temple. Jhanderin

Chapter 7

Dohri's To-Do List

Dohri finished writing and looked over her list as she
hummed quietly to herself.

1) Make sure you talk to Ulvaera and the Leaders to make
sure she is on the path to atonement.
2) Stop being so sad and moody around Lady Azorinne!
Try to show her how much you love her and how much
strength she gives you and that the effort she puts
into you is not in vain.
3) Try to get Shakiniel to stop hating Divinity so much
and try to see if you can find women attractive enough
to accept her proposal and make her happy.
4) Make Atrissa know how much you apprectiate her and
speak with Gwen to see about a 'Thank you' event.
*surprise event of course!*
5) See about reaching out to Danellan to end exile and
heal the painful wound on your soul. Pray to
Lady Azorinne about this. (Don't be so moody!)
Pray often for Darsylon's safety while you remain in
exile.
6) Uncover deepest most profound knowledge of Lady Azorinne's
philosophy to be a good priestess for her.
(this may take awhile)
7) Vanquish all darkness in the world OR be a beacon of
hope for the Light and an agent of warning and abeyance
for the Darkness. (this may take even longer)
8) Keep an eye on Ithy.
9) Hunt down and destroy all seeds of Despair in the hearts
of the Light. (watch the squires closely!)

Unconditional Love and Altruism

"...and thank the Gods there is not such thing as a selfless act." Dohri, said to him.
"Well..you know.. outside some sort of horrible nightmare, you know?" she continued.
She could see by the look on his face that she had confused him.
"What? You think that because I am an Acolyte that actual altruism is something
in which we dabble?"
"I thought that is what you people did." he said
"What? Selfless acts?", she asked as she leaned forward in her chair.
He nodded slowly
"Actual, true Altruism is one the worst things in the entire world. At its core
it is an act that has no benefit to the people doing the act. Everthing we do has
some sort of benefit to us. When I run into battle to defend
the innocent and protect my brethren, yes there are risks and even horrid consequences
but there is always a benefit to me. When I endure pain and injury to protect others, it
makes me feel good to know that I protected someone that I loved. I have purpose
in doing what I do. When I forgive someone that has wronged me, I am doing it because
the act of forgiveness..you know, relieving the person of guilt makes me feel good..
because seeing someone that I love in pain makes me feel pain." Dohri paused.
He smiled as he thought of what she had just said and asked, "So unconditional love.."
Dohri sat back in her chair, "Unconditional love?...Dangerous and immoral".
"What do you think? That I just go around loving people without a reason?
There are always conditions attached to love...love is actually very selfish now
that I am thinking about it. And loving someone without conditions..without reciprocation
is insanity. Does one deserve love if they do not give it? Should one continue
to love if the object of that love returns with abuse or hate?"

The Raging River

She woke with the weight still on her. Dohri sighed and willed
herself up and standing. She had hoped that her mood would have
changed when she woke but she was still down. Her moods had
started to get more erratic. When once she could control
them with certain activities and thoughts, she found that they
would swing on an whim leaving her struggling to maintain
herself. It had always been there - the mood swings, but she
had gotten worse since her time in the Fortress. One day she
would be excited, optimistic and full of light as if she were
on a dizzying ride down a raging river. She would take in
the sights, sounds and the love from all of her friends to her
heart and feel almost unable to bear it only to then spew all
that love and energy back out to the world. Then, like a gust
of wind that stops abruptly, she would change to the dark
sadness that would overtake and dominate her. Her glorious
chaotic raging river would change into a cold, muddy streambed
where she was alone and shivering, and every step in the mud was
an exercise in will. She was plagued with nightmares of her
friends in pain and anguish with her feeling impotent and she
would wake crying with feelings of crushing guilt. She loved
her friends With the river she found their presence exhilarating
with feelings of surging love, but her thoughts would turn and fester
leaving her wondering if they really loved her at all and she
found herself wanting to isolate herself from them both ashamed
at her thoughts but unable to shake the possibility that they were
true. There used to be long times of controlled calm when she felt
steady, but those had since vanished leaving her
with no peace..no calm. She had been very good at hiding it -
when she was down, but even that had become difficult.
"Another day...just one more day..", she said wearily.

Dohri's Vow

She raced back to the mountains to pray. She was excited.
Not in the out-of-control, tense almost painful euphoria
that she had been suffering from, but this time in a
state of actual happiness. She had just spoken with Danellaran
who had granted her mercy and gave her permission to return
home to be with her people.
She had left them and stayed in exile - ashamed and lost.
Dohri had learned important lessons about herself from those
blessed souls that had cared for her and given her counsel
in her time of need. Remembering the lessons given to her,
she would not make the same mistake again.She had told him
that she would not be praying anymore for the protection of
Darsylon anymore. She said that she would be seeing to
Darsylon's protection herself and she meant to do just that.

Just as her friends had helped her so much when she was lost,
sick, hopeless and in need of wisdom, she would in turn make
sure that her people would have the same from her. Their sick
and wounded would be in need of healing. The demoralized would
need hope. Those that went astray would need guidance. Their
lives would need to be protected. Those that went astray, the
ones that could be saved would be in need of Mercy. She would
be with them for the rest of her days and she went to the
mountains to pray to her Lady for she finally knew what her
vow was to be. A lifetime of purpose. A lifetime in pursuit
of justice. Both giving her people wisdom, judgment and mercy
and receiving it so that she could take her lessons and strength
to the rest of the world. A blessed cycle of love, learning
and support. Walking hand in hand towards a brighter future.

Mother Lover Sister

The first to go was dear Ithy. That had been such a shock that
Dohri was truly unable to fully process it in her mind. She felt
angry and abandoned. "Am I so easy to leave?", she had asked
Atrissa while they were speaking about it. Dohri had always looked
at Ithy as a mother figure, though she had never told Ithy that.
Dohri would miss her terribly when she was gone for too long. She
would send Ithy letters telling how much she missed her or asking
her opinion when Dohri was unsure of herself. Ithy would always
tell Dohri to be more sure of herself and Dohri always tried to do
as Ithy suggested, wanting to make her proud. Dohri had tried to
prepare herself for the deaths of Atrissa and Shakiniel, thinking
to herself, "Well, my heart will be broken, but at least I shall
have my dear Ithy."

The second was her lover Shakiniel. The Azure had inspired feelings
both emotional and physical in Dohri that she had never felt from
anyone else. After that wonderful time in Aturi, Dohri had not been
able to see Shakiniel since for her lover was hunted mercilessly,
it seemed by the entire world. That infuriating, wonderful woman,
who would have rather died then to accept prayers from Dohri. The
azure's passing was very difficult for her, but at least Dohri
had prepared herself for it.

Atrissa's passing was the worst for Dohri. Dohri could not think
of anyone that she loved more, save for her Lady Azorinne. Dohri
would speak with her about anything that was on her mind and she
loved to listen to Atrissa's stories and to hear her sing. It was
Atrissa that Dohri had confided in when Dohri had needed to speak
with someone about her relationship with Shakiniel. It was Atrissa
that she had run to for a shoulder to cry on when Dohri had first
seen the atrocities of the war that the Fortress waged. It was
Atrissa that Dohri always counted on to be there for her, to bring
her to calm down. Atrissa could always make her feel better no
matter what was happening in her life.

No more tears

Dohri woke from a restless sleep in a start. She had been dreaming
that she had been running to meet Ithy, Shakiniel and Atrissa at
the Inn, but she could not get to them. The door the Inn had been
barred but she could hear them inside..the voices of the people that
she had lost. She had been crying so much lately that her throat
hurt and she could feel a pain in her chest. She did not want to be
around anyone since she found out about Atrissa. She knew that it
only make her feel worse to do such. "The worst I have ever felt is
when I isolated myself", she had told Atrissa. There was no one that
she could speak to now though about her pain. Everyone that she
would have gone to was dead.

With a weary sigh she stood and lightly straightened her robes and
began to walk. The morning air in Hamsah was already warm and full
of smells from the market. Dohri closed her eyes and concentrated
a moment, willing herself to walk. The Caravan road south of the
city was empty and Dohri was thankful for that. She wanted to be
alone today. She trudged up the mountains and through the windy pass
to the cliffs overlooking the Aryth Ocean. She looked out at the
blue ocean. Somewhere in her thoughts she knew why she had come.
It was such a beautiful place. A wonderful view with a promise of
sweet mercy. She peered over the side briefly before closing her
eyes. She stood there for a time, trying to see if she was brave
accept the solution that she had given herself. "Just two steps
forward, silly, and then you can fly and hurt no more. Simple.
Just..step forward." Dohri breathed in deeply and leaned forward.

She was startled out of her trance however with the sound of child's
terrified wail on the wind just behind her. She stepped back from
the cliff's edge turned to where she thought she heard the scream.
Nothing.. turning back to the cliff edge, her eye caught her wrist.
She looked at the aureole, then lightly ran her fingertips over it.
She blushed and then sighed deeply. Shame and then anger overcame
her. "What would they think..horrid. People need you. You are a
priestess of Azorinne. You do not give up. If not you then who?"
"No more tears."

Dohri turned and walked, making her way back down the mountain.
