Torma the Rainsoaked, Priestess of Jormyr, stood among the Tahril Mountain
ledge from a vantage where she could equally view the open sea and the spices
pouring into Hamsah. She was swaddled in lightning and storms, a now constant
companion, and the energy of typhoons waited on her mere will.

Her power had grown, yet so had her perspective of the world. It was a
blessing and a curse that as her power grew, so did was her awareness of the
forces that opposed and stood in the way of Her rise.

Tribunal. Imperials. And corrupted races. Corrupted races mixed in with every
faction of society. It many ways, it was a similar problem as the Minotaur
Colonies that she had spent her young life raiding: Their enemies grew like
weeds and one could not rid of weeds without going for the roots and seeds.

She frowned, and so the neighboring thunder crashed, as it often did when
mimicking her mood.

They needed a solution. How to attack the imperials at the foundations? The
tribunals? And what of the minotaurs, goblins, duergar, and orcs that just
kept coming in breeding hordes?

Suddenly she had a thought. Poisons were not her way, but they were found in
natural abundance throughout Thera if one looked hard enough. Wasn't there
a young shaman in her warden branch who studied the Revelations of Ergush,
but sought to know more of Venoms? If not him, then perhaps another could
aid.

A race specific venom. It was the perfect solution. The roots and seeds, not
the weeds alone. If they could find the right virulent venom to affect the
corrupted races entire populations, perhaps they could save the world and
bring her Rise after all.

Where to begin? Where to start? Her thoughts swirled and so did the cold wind
around her.

Chapter 1

Raids of Torma the Rainsoaked

Torma the Rainsoaked charged out of the waves and onto the rocky shore
leading her tribe's charge against the minotaur colony. Her helix medallion
in one fist and a weapon in the other, their warcry was drowned out by the
storm that raged upon the shoals ahead of them and waves that beat the newly
constructed seawall of the minotaur settlement. So too did the tempest drown
out the surprised roars of the mino people who had been hastily occupied
against the storm that had formed out of nowhere.

Soon the fight was won, as so many had been up and down the Aryth shores. The
storms and winds and chaos of war favored them, the tempests covered and gave
their strikes initiative, yet no matter how many raids they executed
successfully this season...they could not counter the amount of colonies
that continued to spring up one after another farther and farther north from
Seantryn along the Aryth Ocean. Soon it would reach even the Open Sea.

Torma the Rainsoaked stood upon a corner of the Western Aryth Seas, high
among windswept cliffs, only a step from death if she tread the wrong way.
She was dangerously close to the busy harbor of Seantryn whom likely had
wanted posters out for her many raids. Yet she stood and watched, for a
change of action was needed.

She was a proud storm giant, not regal, but savage. Yet in that savagery and
chaos was a form of regal untouched by the comforts of man. She stood there,
watching ship after ship.. some laden with merchandise, some colonists..
and realized they would never stop coming if more was not done.

She looked to the west imagining the frozen seas and prayed to Jormyr, a God
so rare among her stormkin people but popular among the savage frostkin
enemy, that hed give her the strength to wisdom to move forward. And with
that, she took her step not to the frozen ice seas, but first to the
Outlanders far to the northeast, that they there might have the answers she
so desperately sought.
