Description

The tiny gnome before you looks at the world with large, inquisitive brown
eyes. He is short, even for his gnomish heritage, standing only 1 and a half
feet tall. He has a wild and unkept appearance. His brown hair is long and
wind-tousled, dirt with twigs and leaves, grass, and other debris of the
forest. He scurries when he walks, his two feet pump quickly as he tries to
keep up with the fast pace of the world. His clothing also marks him as a bit
wild, as he wears a hodge-podge of various equipment and tools as if
haphazardly thrown together without any thought.

Chapter 5

As Seasons Change

Nublenop has grown very quickly. He is an angry and quirky little gnome who
follows simple laws. He does not like seeing others subjugated and burdened
by rules of those that oppress them. He wants others to be free, and he wants
the subjugators and defilers of the world dead.

He is learning more about himself and his place in the world on a day to day
basis. He has sought the council of Ergush, the Ancient of Storms. He was
told by one close to Ergush to prove he is a capable hunter and seeks to do
so at this time.

He has spent a greater amount of time in the ruins of Maethin and has
determined that to fix this blight on the world will take a lot of effort and
determination. He is focusing these efforts via a magical portal into Thera's
past. He has wandered Maethin proper and seeks to unlock its secrets that he
might prevent their foolishness of the past from coming to fruition.

He very much wishes to see the Refuge grow. He speaks to any pledge that he
can and eagerly seeks to cull the weak and promote the strong.

The dome of blackness was cold and impenetrable. Every time Nublenop got
close to the wall he began to get frigidly cold and hurt. The darkness
enveloped him and he knew if he continued dropping into it he would never
resurface. Yet he was a curious gnome and his curiosity drove him. He glided
down into the mountains of Udgaard, near the darkness. He focused his will
and his form shifted fluidly from a lightning fast Shikra to a stubby badger.
He sniffed around a shrouded mist, getting thoroughly lost even while marking
the plants as he passed them. He continued huffing to himself and wandering
the mists until he saw an elf. Oddly enough as he attempted to quickly pass
by the elf thrust a polearm in front of him and warned him about the darkness
ahead. Agitated, he snapped at the polearm and gave it a hard bite. The elf
frowned and Nublenop snorted and focused his will, shifting back into a swift
Shikra. He flew around the wall of darkness, agitating several elves who were
working various magics to keep the darkness contained. He gazed at various
notes on a table and a desk. He flew past the wall of darkness and into the
ruins only briefly before several extra-planar creatures had launched
themselves at him. He dodged their attacks with practiced easy, shrieking his
rage at them, but it was not enough and he was not strong. He retreated out
of the wall of darkness, and flew up, up, up. He vowed to himself to discover
more about this place and do what he can to see it destroyed.

Thar-Eris

He flew higher and higher. Every day he became stronger, he flew further, he
flew higher. His favorite place to be is in the sky, over the clouds,
observing. Some of the things he has seen has made him feel hopeless. He sees
beautiful rivers flowing from mountains all the way into cities and becoming
poisoned. He sees populations swelling in the cities, all wearing invisible
shackles of their own devising. He has attempted to speak with many but none
seem to want to embrace life away from the box. What he sees angers him. Deep
gouges in the ground, mountains and plains alike where the world is raped of
its metals and gems.


Yet there is hope. He does not hesitate to plant seeds, he does not hesitate
to attack those that defile. As he grows he will be more and more effective
at this. He continues to seek like minded individuals to grow and has taken
up residence in the Outlander tree. He learns more about the Mother, or Her,
or however you wish to call Thar-Eris. He will see Her revived or die trying.

Chapter 2

An Update on Visions: NO TV INTRO THEME. LOUD AND CLEAR.

Three specific visions led him as he embarked on his quest away from the
temple. His temple life was brief. He knew he didn't make much of a servant,
and for certain didn't make much of a priest.


1. The storm. He stretched out his long wings and pushed quickly,
frantically. To have delayed even another second would have spelled his
death. Yet his was a controlled chaos, and as he felt himself lift away he
heard screams of anger and fear. Blood dripped down from his black talons.
Suddenly he felt, before he heard, a dull thud directly beside him as a
flames exploded and grazed his wing. He screeched in pain as feathers melted
off his wing. But still he rose, into the heart of a wild storm. As soon as
he was above the swirling black cloud he knew he had found his haven. He
looked below and admired the colors of the fireballs exploding beneath and
inside the cloud. Blessed was he to be a part of the storm.


2. Clouds parted and revealed the branches of a great tree. Nublenop was
confused because he had thought he had gained much more altitude than this.
Realization struck and he recognized that he had indeed gained altitude
enough, it was just the largest tree he had ever seen. A tree grown from a
seed from the Tree of Life of Ancient Histories, he would later find out. As
he circled the tree and gazed down over it a sense of longing washed over
him. He observed a community at work, many families happily living their day
to day lives in the wide open space. Simple living, free living. He felt much
different than he did as he flew over Galadon, which in its current state
felt more like people living in a crypt than in a typical cage. He nodded to
himself as he glided lazy circles and observed. He had found home.


3. A large clearing in a pristine forest. A great burning tree recently
struck by lightning and set aflame. Before the tree sitting on a log is a
felar. The felar gives off a sense of pure life, of verdant earth, of
renewal. He has a mischievous grin as his eyes glint with amusement. On his
lap rests an old leather sack with untied string. On his paws bounce three
ancient gnome bones. Nublenop knows when those bones are cast his fate is
sealed, yet he is not afraid, he eagerly anticipates.


All of these visions led him to where he is today. He is finally there, the
fresh gnome of the air.

Now this is a story all about how my magic came and I'm a shifter now so I'd
like to take a minute just read right here I'll tell you how I became the
servant of a one-heart seer.


In a gnome apartment I was born and raised, with my parents is where I
learned my gnomish ways. Just inventing and repairing and selling our tools
and haggling and trading and following all the rules.


When my dad looked around and he had a nice thought, we could go to
Udgaardand our wares could be bought. He packed up a wagon and ignored common
sense and said we are traveling merchants from this day hence!


He-Didnt-Even make a sell before we got robbed and our wares got scattered as
I sat and sobbed. I hid in a bush then ran fast and faster until I ran right
into a one-heart beastmaster.


I woke up in a temple sitting in a bed I had tears in my eyes and visions in
my head. A tree and a storm and clouds in the sky and a felar rollin bones
and I didn't ask why. I'll never forget what that old seer said, she looked
me in the eye and said your parents are dead.


So-I learned about the spirits of nature and Thar-Eris and how these days
Outlanders are rarest. I served for a bit and I learned one-heart magic, and
that is my story hope it doesn't stay tragic.
