Chapter 3

A Path Set
Added Thu May 31 10:54:11 2018 at level 10:

While a normal man may have walked away from such a childhood with both
emotional and physical scars, Tamhas rarely showed any signs at all that
would separate him from a normal, albeit azure-touched child. Easy to
smile and quick to make a friend, Tamhas was widely considered a joy both
within the Paladin's Guild, and amongst the common people of Voralian
City.

His demeanor changes dramatically though, when confronted by those with
darkness in their hearts. While not an angry man by nature, Tamhas does
not hesitate to take action when he deems it necessary. This intensity
may be surprising to some, but Tamhas simply sees no other way. While
many men might seek to reason with or dissuade a bandit from continuing
their course, Tamhas would be far more quick to resort to decisive, if
violent, action.

It was decisive action, after all, which freed Tamhas and the other boys
from grasp of slavery. And it was all Tamhas would need to see to know
that he must continue to act, and act decisively, to free other innocent
lives from the grasp the corrupt who seek to enslave Thera.

Knowing the path and walking the path, though, are two distinctly
different things. Tamhas, after all, is a boy without a family. A boy who
never knew a mother or father. A boy who never saw a man he might wish to
become. In short, Tamhas had no connection to the good men and women of
Thera, no pure or just soul to model himself of. Instead, Tamhas had what
very few others had. He had the touch of the divine running through his
blood. A connection to the Azure Fields. A connection, in fact, to the
Lords above. It was a connection which Tamhas would continue to
cultivate, continue to evolve. A connection which, above all else, Tamhas
longed to strengthen.

After all, it was this divine gift that Tamhas leaned upon for strength
in his youth. And it was the divine that Tamhas would lean on still. It
was no coincidence that Tamhas's first day of freedom ended at the
Paladin's Guild. Some might call it his destiny, but Tamhas simply called
it his purpose. He was, in a literal sense, touched by the heavens above.
And he would, in an equally literal sense, bring that divine touch to
Thera.
