Description

An ever present cowl wraps this massive form's face from
direct sight. Your light source cannot seem to pierce
the darkness this cowl creates around this being's visage.
Jutting from the cowl is a massive, warty nose. It looks
disgusting, and one can only guess what it is attached
to and its level of revoltedness. Glints of the brightness
of its eyes are witnessable through the cowl itself. Tiny
pinpricks of azure light. His body is heavily muscled
and carries the horrible warting and wrinkled skin his
nose so distinctly showed. His size is that of a giant
and the flesh's hue itself is a bluish haze, as if
his flesh was quickly frozen and no heat exists to melt
it leaving tiny snowflake speckles across his body.
As you stare closer at his physical appearance, more
detail comes to light.

Chapter 4

Dark Vivimancy, the search and research

Iaio's insatisable desire to learn more about it has
created what one would call a poor frost giant
scientist. He seeks knowledge in the best way possible
with the natural tools provided to him, you know,
being a frost giant. His goal is to learn as much about
Vivimancy, especially those who are dark hearted and
how they harness it. His first line of research is
murder and disect. He will scour through the corpses
of those with this power looking for clues. He has
spent time coming up with a list of those to hunt
first.

First and formost, in order of importance:
Trolls, of any kind
Shapeshifters, any which have regeneration forms
Otherworldly creatures (Archons, angels, demons, devils)
Anything with scales (dragons, reptiles)

Second, Iaio seeks to find any and all pieces of
equipment which helps or assists in health regeneration
and to find the best pieces as part of his experiments.

Third, warrior trainings of all kinds. Finding ways
to increase his own body's ability to recover through
the various available trainings within the land of
Thera. This includes seeking out any he discovers along
the way who may have teachings for him. He will ALMOST
sell himself for such things. His one line is he will
never cross the wilds and the home it gave him.

Last, service to Thar Eris he hopes to unlock this power
through the natural cycle, coupled with all his other
beliefs he feels he could do such and change himself
to what possibly would be already part of his bloodline.

All of this obession is driven by something deep. Within
him, in a region of his mind accessed by high-level
thought and so inaccessible to him, he senses
a forign heritage. This place is so hard for him to
access that only faint whispers of it are expressed
outward in this obsession, for he knows nothing of his
past. This whole process, for which he follows without
waver, is some kind of force within him driving him
to discover that he is possibly not all frost giant,
but instead some kind of evolution of his species
with ice troll blood.

Chapter 3

The New Life of Iaio

The outside world from the Goblin Outpost was just
as harsh as it was within, just in different ways.
Iaio's ugly-ness was an easy target for almost
every single humanoid. His strength kept most from
directly confronting him about it, but there were
always those whose numbers outweighed his singular
strength and had no fear. This forced Iaio to hide
his face almost always behind a cowl. To keep his
visage from gracing and fearing other humanoids.
This lessened the impact of their hate. This is
how Iaio's hate of civilization grew and grew.
For the wilds didn't care about this, what mattered
was the true aspects of the beast for survial, not
some vague idea of pretty-ness.

He took to warrioring with a gusto although, and
impressed the guildmasters enough with his strength
and ability to continue to train. Soon he found
himself simply drifting back out into the wilds
for sometimes weeks at a time, and avoiding the
civilized areas completely. The harshness of the
wilds did not bother him. His cuts and scraps,
even major wounds, healed quickly. During this time
Iaio began taking notice of it.

Sometimes Iaio would sit in the woods, cut his
finger and watch it heal over time. The cut, the
bleed, the knit, the mend. Over and over. He started
believing that he was special somehow. And heard
whispers in the darkness of a thing called
"Vivimancy". He learned through others of the wilds,
mostly rangers and druids like him who spent time
out there, that it was a power harnessed by the
light only.


But some rangers told stories of trolls, creatures
with very dark hearts, that somehow have found their
way to be beings of "Vivimancy". This felt like something
Iaio wanted to learn more of. And from that point on
he is questing to learn everything possible about
how to harness and embrace "Dark Vivimancy".

Chapter 2

Life in the Goblin Outpost, If you can call it that

Iaio was from a very early age taught his place in Thera,
specifically with the goblins of the Goblin Outpost. He
was instilled with the fear and knowledge that he is a
tool for them to use as they see fit. He was taught that
through many, many whippings and beatings. They would
use barbed whips as their most enjoyed teaching tools.
The barbs would tear at the flesh of Iaio, leaving long,
jagged rips in his skin. Just not deep enough to cause
fatal damage, but enough to teach as well as put on an
enjoyable show for the goblins. The spray of blood and
the quiet grunt from Iaio was an every day passtime.
What was interesting was that the rips caused by this
damage always seemed to heal much quicker than what
the goblins expected. The flesh mended and knit at
a quicker pace. The goblins loved this about Iaio,
because it meant he could be beaten more often and
rough conditions were not as brutal upon him.

Iaio never knew of his heritage, his mother, or even
what he was. He simply knew he was a slave, a frost
giant, and condemned.

The days rolled on into years, until Iaio had grown
into a massive, and very ugly, frost giant. His
strength from years of conditioning in slave labor
was almost unfathomable. At the age nearing adulthood
Iaio was being whipped by goblins to build a new
longhouse for the outpost. Iaio was lifting massive
logs the length of ten goblins. During one of these
lifts Iaio stumbled over a child goblin he didn't
want to squish, and instead, dropped the giant
wooden beam directly down on the goblin quartermaster.

A satisfying "squish" was heard as he was ended
so quickly that he was just a puddle of muck. This
event defined Iaio's life from this point forward.
First, the ground greedily slurped up the blood
and almost spoke to Iaio for more. The goblins
furiously lashed Iaio, but the pain was distant
and in its place, rage. This event broke the fog
Iaio was in, and he felt rage, power, strength,
and most of all vengeance.

The massive log became a weapon. Wielding it like
a scythe, he cut down goblins in the dozens. Their
blood scattered to the wind and the ground, and with
each strike, Iaio felt the lands calling for more.
Iaio felt his calling, felt his desire, to murder
the truly unnatural and feed the ground.

Empowered by this event, Iaio fled the Outpost
and started a new life, much like his mother.
Except he was unburdened now and mad.

Chapter 1

The Sell Off, Frost Giant Mothers Want Coin More Than Baby

The birth of Iaio was an unwanted one. His mother chose his name
specifically because it contained only vowels in the common
language. A common insult in the frost giant culture to denote
that you are empty and without substance. It was just one of
many insults Iaio suffered, both small and large.

The most curious is why such a desire to get rid of Iaio.
Her mother has known her heritage for a very long time.
It has been rumored in her family that there was some ice troll
blood that was bred into her line. It has haunted her
and her family for generations. It was something she hid
from her mate for the longest time. When he discovered
this "taint" she was immediately banished with the child
to the point that most of the frost giant clan from the
Frozen Gorge sought them to be murdered. The desire to live
outweighed the persuing frost giants of the mother and
child. She lived, but what she was left with in her hands
was a child of the most ugly-ness.

His face was pimpled and warted, and his flesh was blasted
with a breath of frozen crystals, all possible traits of
an ice troll. She could not raise this monster in her eyes
and sought to find a fresh start. This is when she left
in her exile to go to the Goblin Outpost to start her life
off with a few gold coins. It is well known Goblins need
hard laborers, and judging by this baby's size and girth,
his strength would be unmatched. They would buy him regardless
of his looks or supposed heritage, and put him to slave
labor. She did just that, sold the child Iaio off to the
goblin quartermaster and left with her pieces of gold.

She was off to start her new life unburdened by the living
haunt of her past heritage, but the haunt of leaving her
child and her past would not leave her be. Iaio on the
other hand started life harshly, and it continued harshly
as he grew up into the slave labor of the Goblin Outpost.
