Miakoda the Agent of Evermoon, Performer of the Inn

Description

Miakoda is a wood-elf who stands with an air of carefree confidence. She has
a thin oval shaped face with naturally blushed cheeks, a proportionally slim
nose, soft pouty lips, and a petite chin. Her face is usually complimented
with an easy, charming smile. Her large doe eyes are two different colors.
The right is an intricately patterned silver and the left is a wild, vibrant
amber. Her chestnut hair hangs in short loose curls, looking wind dried yet
clean. This wood-elf has a soft neck and narrow shoulders that form into
equally lithe arms and hands. Her legs are long and trim with slim ankles and
high arched feet. Standing at 5'7", she sports a toned hourglass figure and
seems to be no stranger to physical activity. Her creamy tan skin is even and
smooth and looks to be very soft. Miakoda seems very dexterous and moves with
an unrestrained energy akin to youthful jubilance. Those with a keen sense of
smell may notice a fragrance of peony and plum blossoms surrounding her.

Moon Child

The moon is always full. When we see and mark waxing and waning cycles, it's
not the moon that is changing. It's us. Our position. Our perspective. It's
the world that shadows the moon from the brazen light of the sun. Taken as a
metaphor, the moon symbolizes the subconscious, and what is illuminated and
made known at that level is not an indication of shifting outer conditions.
We are what cast the shadows or reveal what is there, bubbling beneath the
surface of our reactions. When we get out of the way, we can see it all. But
that process of self awareness happens, like all great things, in phases. Not
suddenly or chaotically. Those phases, the small steps toward and away from
the light, are what give dimension and nuance and beauty to the process. If
you can know the crescent, you will have deeper appreciation for the dark of
the new moon. And if you can develop your ability to see patterns with the
new moon, you will notice a lot more during the full moon's light. Miakoda
had spent a fair amount of time training with reavers, and sometimes even
with imperials. She spent her time with them feeling nervous, uneasy and
unsure whether or not they would attack her. This strengthened her love of
her new friends, the Heralds of the Eternal Star, whom she had joined.

Of all these friends, Miakoda was fondest of a Herald named Arden Kethridge.
The elder Heralds were all terribly kind to her, but she and Arden had
joined the Heralds at similar times, she had hunted with him, he was kind,
noble, and competent in nature and combat. Both sides of her liked him.
Miakoda had also met Lord Raltevio at the Eternal Star. However brief, his
presence brought to her a sort of exciting comfort and like a stray dog
who had just been fed, she followed his scent back to his villa and joined
the ranks of the Fool's Troupe. Life was exciting, in prospect and in
occurrence. Word came of a vampire named Davarrah, the Torch of Shadows,
the Sphinx comet from the fabled story the Tailed Star, the Horn of Fate,
and agents of Zurcon, even Zurcon's terrible Death Knights. Miakoda had
learned all this through a special unit organized by Daphedee, the High
Herald, to pursue these occurrences while hiding the knowledge from those
who might seek to aid in the Demon God or others seeking harm to the Theran
way of life. Arden seemed particularly focused on these matters, the archon
in her spirit wanted to help him save Thera, the wolf wanted to blow the
Horn of Fate as a proud howl proclaiming she was the meanest wolf around.

Chapter 1

Lilting Howl of the Poetess

On a moonlit night a spirit left the Azure Fields, it searched from the sky
for a soul which to join. On the ground a hunter worked for Sutton the Reeve,
he pierced a poor wolf cub right through her loins. The wolf cub lived but
was left to die, the spirit saw and cried. It begged the moon to join the
two, and the moon she did abide.

To grant the wish, the moon weaved her magic, she twisted the creature to
gain human frame. The wild inside it fought tooth and nail, it wouldn't
consent to be a creature so tame. But the moon is clever and crafty and
quick and quite stubborn herself. She turned the wolf into a more fitting
form, and the wolf became a wood-elf.

The moon took the two and joined them together, their memories erased by this
odd unioning. The child sat up and looked at the moonlight and the first
thing she did was she started to sing. The moon then blessed this newly
formed child with the spark of a poetess, so the yearning desire of a wolf's
lonely howl could be expressed with much more finesse.

The child grew up in the nearby holy grove, named Miakoda by the druids and
friends. But natural blessings were not her forte, the spirit inside her had
returned to contend. So she left the grove and she made her way to the
academy. Watching a sword fight in the warriors guild, enthralled by the
artistry.

Now Miakoda walks through the lands, completely unknown by her Azure-Touched
kin. Her skin does not glow and the spirit's noble stern soul has been balanced
by the wolf's hungry, wild whims. Inspired by music, revelation, and beauty,
and of course by poetry. Miakoda thinks she's just an orphaned child,
oblivious to her strange story.

Her right eye views Thera with a loving protection, searching for friends
with whom to share laughter. Her left views Thera with wild ambition,
seeking that which makes the heart beat faster. Now she steps out into
the world and into history. What will the world hold for her? She revels
at the thought of the mystery.
