Description

Standing at an estimated six feet, this half-drow before you
looks intensely vigilant. His face is riddled by small
scratches and scars, but this to not blemish the
obviously radiating personality. He has glowing red eyes,
his hair is long and is tied on the back of his head with a
plain cord. He has long ears of an elf, but the pale color of
skin fits a drow more. His small mouth constantly as a
crooked smile across it, but it seems strained as if it is forced.

The Oath

Shalic, now recognised as Master of Words in the guild he was becoming
noticed, people began to enquire about his politics, his alliances.
Shalic was not afraid to take the oath because of choice of alliance.
There was no other choice but the empire. He was afraid of the
commitment. Would he be quickly promoted to blade and have to
perform? Would his voice be good enough for the ears of Council
members? Could he mess up and end up a anathema, which would be
be devastating to Shalic.
But he woke up one day and decided to take the oath today.

Chapter 1

The Introduction

Shalic is a dreamer, he watches great wizards, warriors and artists achieve
amazing feats. But he does not believe he can do so as well.
He grew up with a flute and sang songs around campfires with others.
The others were those that were not sent off to war or to train
or to practice. Shalic and his friends spent years sitting around talking,
thinking and singing, instead of living.
As time went on, Shalic learnt that his music could be quite powerful
It could provide protecting, healing and even harm.
Shalic with nothing else to do, decided he would pursue studies in the minstrel
Guild. He did not have much passion for politics, but there was one thing
he was impressed by, others of great status. And the top of that list
were the Empire. The Emperor and the War Master at the top of the top.
So Shalic thought, maybe follow darkness and order and perhaps he could be good
enough for a junior position in the empire one day.
Shalic was terribly afraid to take the oath though, because then he might
need to perform and he felt he was not ready.
