Description

The creature you see here resembles the corpse of a woman, although not
quite. It is not yet ridden with decay, but the skin is held tight across the
bones, with little in the way of flesh to intervene. Grey, brittle hair is
covered in dead leaves beneath an iron tiara. Her clothes are ceremonial, and
coloured the same grey as her flesh. She moves fitfully and awkwardly, her
voice a rasping hollow whisper.

Things I have tried to be more evil: Attacking Tonta after I took them
exploring with me (didn't seal the kill but it's the thought that counts),
unrestrained war on imperials (had some results here), getting myself wanted
(did kill a couple of tribs but it turns out they're not all nooby after
all). Some halfhearted attacks on nexus, but for the most part I still need
them on side to down the bloody head because the orcs have dried up. Still
haven't brought myself to kill heralds much, but I'll take a shot at Renize
next time the opportunity arises.

PK wise killing Torzen was another big coup. Gwildaththea, Golthazar and
Lathlaeril come to mind as leaders of enemy cabals I haven't taken down yet
and I'm not sure I'll be able to, at least not without a cabal of my own, but
goals.

Also having hit 5 con makes me nervous. I'm going to miss her.

Well first of all I think I'm definitely getting better at PKing, dismal
showing against Lhotki aside. More RBW kills, including two on Grimghal who
is an absoloute monster, the first of those he was fresh from a kill on
Gaspare. I could probably take Gaspare too if the phylactery/hell gear voodoo
or whatever it is didn't make that impossible. A kill on a full Maran (Lexxi)
I would usually think would count toward getting into scarab, but the radio
silence from Jeede (didn't speak to me after having discussed my application
with scarabaeus, shared another login after that and again no communication)
makes me think that's not going to happen. The problem could be that I'm not
perceived as being evil enough - it's sad that I was made aware of this
during a trip to RoTD and not IC but even so it was nice to have feedback,
even for the wrong reasons.

So I'm not really sure how to proceed. In character the last thing Jeede said
to Melissa was 'time is something you have', so it looks to be a trial of
patience even if it isn't a mute rejection. But with nearly 300 hours on the
character and maybe 100 or so since I pledged, still being uncaballed is
frustrating. Doubly so as the next interaction with Emnon is set to take
place after being inducted. In the meantime I'm enjoying leaving heaps of
gold/treasure items in his shrine for its own sake.

So for now I'm going to keep using orcs as a surrogate cabal as much as
possible so I don't have to go back to handing enemy cabal items to other
enemy cabals when I want to draw people into a fight. It's not ideal but it's
better than nothing.

Oh right this is a role entry.. Roleplay wise I'm going to start making an
effort to try and be more evil. I'm going to stop with the gear handouts
other than Somot who I'm grooming to be my also-Emnon-worshipping bash buddy,
maybe kill more imperials, possibly become wanted and pad my PK count with
nooby tribs like everyone else does. Killing orderly folks will also be a
good opportunity to drop scarab-y RP. Even if walking down Eastern will be
really tedious when I can't even flee past the guards for fear of losing
zombies.

In conclusion I'm having a lot of fun but feeling vaguely frustrated. I must
be playing CF.

The more I play her the less of an abstract concept Melissa is and the more
of a real character with her own relationships she's becoming. Still no real
allies in hero range. Betrayed Adenir in the vain hope of getting caballed,
Suustus is fine to share questy info with but pretty useless as a ganging
partner and following the slap on the wrists probably won't be seeing much of
him any more anyway (I swear I don't even have AIM). Tanzer is a lot of fun
to banter with but ultimately still trying to kill her. IC she's sort of
upset that Ondahyr stopped logging on after her becoming, but it adds a nice
little tragic twist to the story. She's slowly becoming more and more feral
and alien (even though she started out spooky and wierd). I consider
Shravthar calling her insane to be an RP success.

PK wise I think I'm finally getting to grips with it, after burning through a
lot of con and game hours trying to find places that still give exploration
exp at hero to get the edge I needed. Proud of the kills on Shravthar (who's
an absoloute beast and I'm glad he hasn't figured out that axe specs have
more than one move) and Jorje, as well as surviving the
Tanzer/Lunakai/Gwildaththea insects/decomposition/air form onslaught. Having
nowhere to down cabal items is still pretty rough but if I keep gearing up
orcs eventually one of them might stick it out long enough to have that
covered for me.

8 con IS pretty low and I need to stop eating stupid deaths, there's really
no excuse for it with 1500hp and undeadliness. I'm starting to enjoy Melissa
a lot and I don't want her to go the way of previous characters who con die
just as everything comes together.

Had two stillborn sisters who share her body. Made this up on the fly to
explain the whole second person thing, only revealed in character to Ondahyr.
It's a little clumsy and I regret it, probably won't mention it again. The
speech pattern is mostly just intended to give a vague air of otherwordly
creepiness. People she likes: Ondahyr, Suustus. People she doesn't like:
Saboor (talk smack and get killed. Talk smack again, get killed again, etc
etc). Was hoping for more nuanced interactions with Gaspare both IC
(idolising liches) and OOC but nothing has come of it. No real reason to
oppose the Empire other than individuals within it insisting on it. Decent
banter with Tanzer, hoping for more of that since he enjoys eating and
Melissa is basically an allegory for anorexia (I'm allowed to have poor taste
it's CF), so it could be interesting. No allies at all in hero range. Would
dearly like a cabal so I can take people's cabal items and such, but no
Empire because Wight, no Tribunal because Wight, etc etc. Scarab is the only
possibility but a no RP murder by the level sitting muter has soured her on
the idea IC. Salvaged to some extent by a conversation with Jeede, but wrong
sphere for Scarabaeus worship (although obviously the whole 'personification
of anorexia'-lite thing ties in strongly with purity). Getting attention from
Emnon was cool and I definitely want to develop that further since the
character is otherwise stuck in a dead end with no allies and no cabal.
