The Story of Varnon's Hut

In these lean times where more are sticking to farming and mining
then going to war, Varnon found few mages to hunt and the ones
that were around cloaked themselves from his sight. Finally after
a couple years of trying, Varnon claimed his first skull in his personal
wars. After collecting the skull, Varnon visited Tahren and discussed
and swore his oath by Bolthrowers Axe. Then Varnon sat in his guild
and wrote a missive on some of the histories that had been passed down
to him. He mentioned such village legends as Throc, Thrym, Guerric and
The commander, Ahjevil, read this missive and immediately
called him to the village.

The commander immediately grilled Varnon on the names he mentioned
and asked for detailed story of what these legends had done as mortals
in the village. Stumbling for words, it became apparent that Varnon knew
of these legends but did not know about these legends. The commander
gave Varnon two choices. One, he could wait for his hut and write three
average stories about three of these legends, or two, he could get his hut
now and write one epic story. Varnon would not want to settle for mediocrity
so he chose the latter. It took Varnon a few months, as he read the
lores in the hut of remembrance, in the lyceum, and talked to the elder dwarves
in Akan. When ready he submitted the missive and waited for the commander.
When the commander read it he asked if he was satisfied that this was an epic story.
While Varnon did not believe it was, he said yes with conviction. The commander
smirked and told him to send the story of Geurrics courage to the entire village.
