Description

Hovering before you is an ebony black feathered arial. His powerful
wings provide him with great balance and superior agilty. A well endowed
beak sinisterly bends downward with a barbed hook on the end. Eerie
yellowish eyes like that of a raven fearlessly stare down at you. A strong
muscular body looks to well toned and able to execute rapid movements
forcefully. Light glistens off the razor edged blackened talons attached to

Chapter 1

My Beginnings

Standing over my mother's corpse, looking down at her lifeless eyes brings
back many memories...

"DON"T DO IT!" Came from the man cowering in the corner. Silence fool, your
time will come.

Thinking back I knew this day was inevitable, if only I stepped in sooner.
Hesitation is a mistake I will never make again. A strict upbringing from my
mother empowered me with the knowledge and understanding of the importance
in a society of rules, structure and order. I showed my appreciation and
beliefs by joining the local guard. This of course angered my father
greatly, not that I cared of his opinion. He left my mother and I long ago.
He had other plans for his son but I had no intention to join him and his
undisciplined lawless lifestyle. He blamed my mother for his son's failure
in his eyes and all too often showed this by coming to our home drunk beating
on her.

"I DIDN'T MEAN TO!" Quiet now, you know what I must do ... what I should of
done a long time ago.

Problems at home started to affect my duties and I knew something must be
done about it. That night when I came home ... this night is one I will not
soon forget. Finding my mother, the life drained from her eyes for all time.

Now I deal with you! What a sad sight ... you actually thought I would join
you in your life of disorder, what a pathetic wasteful existence. You are a
failure in life as you are a failure with me. Now that path has led you to
this! Now it all comes to an end, you will pay for what you have done. Any
last words? No... as expected, goodbye Father. Standing over my father's
corpse filled me with pleasure, finally an end to all the pain.

I now had to get away from this place, somewhere I could start a new life.
I travelled far to the east until I reached the city of Hamsah Mutazz.
There I learned of a powerful Empire set out to bring order to Thera through
means of a structured, ordered society where any fools that could not
understand were dealt with. What a place that would be, all of Thera under
one rule ... Imperial rule! This was a place I would one day call home, but
now was not that moment.

I headed south to the city of Seantryn Modan, a place ruled over by the
great Empress and her palace. Here I will stay for now and I joined the
local assassin guild. Here I will learn the art of stealth, concealment
and execution. Developing these abilities will be of the upmost importance
if I am to make a difference in the Empire. I will use my beliefs of the
past and the abilities I learn now in the present to make a difference in
the future. When the time is right I will join the Empire and we will make
Thera a better place to be. It will be a place every man, woman and child
has their place in society and any who do not follow this higher way of life
will be destroyed.
