Description

Bone, obsidian, holy, unholy, finely crafted, crude. These are the words you
would use to describe the various symbols and relics of what seems to be the
spoils of victory over both priests and priestesses of chaos.

So varied and odd is the collection from various lands below and above the
world's surface, thats its only then that you finally study the very dark
figure before you. While all many elves possess and almost feminine
quality, this one moves with such a grace and assured air about her, that she
clearly comes from the dominant sex of the dark-elf population. Her hair
drapes in a glossy ebony that carries a more reflective sheen than the
flawless matte finish of her middle of the night black skin. Her cheekbones
high, her complexion is unblemished below dazzling silver eyes.

Her confidence in her superior race, sex, and place in life is only matched
by the confidence in her poise and slightly veiled weapons, clearly giving
her away as a trained warrior.

Chapter 4

Plans and Pleasures

She sat in a simple triangular room on the top of spire. Ordinary and
devoid of much decoration, Elasia had recently brought a desk into the
Hall of the Vindicator. Made from the most tainted trees of Dark Wood,
she sat there drumming her fingers on it now. It brought a smile to her
face, thinking of the hired workers who had fallen procuring the
materials. The beautiful desk was a fine prize indeed.

Now her mind turned to greater prizes to be had as she poured over
ancient scrolls and tombs of Justice from the Lyceum. So many stories
and captures eluding to the "Stalkers" justice called to hunt criminals
across the lands from afar. Similar to nightgaunts, similar to the
conscription, but more persistent. Yet missing was information on how
they acquired this power or where the workings of calling the "Stalkers"
ran off to. She ran her finger line by line over the next passage. There
had to be something here. She cursed. She had read this passage before. Twice.

Frustrated, she ran her hand through piles of holy symbols of chaotic
priests and the wands of now dead chaotic mages in the half-open drawer
to her right. Usually it brought her the comforting reassurance her
restless soul needed. Now however, it only reminded her of the many
unrealized tools House Nameless should open to her for her most
successful rise in power and training. With a growl, she slammed the
drawer shut in even greater annoyance, but wincing suddenly at the thought
of hurting her prize desk.

She had spoken briefly with the "Worker of Divine Miracles" from this
Menagerie or whatever they were. True miracles, hah! He provided no
help for her original plan. He claimed he had no such power as to
resurrect a member of the Justice cabal from ages past. He claimed his
powers only worked on the living. Unfortunate, she could have unlocked
so many secrets, perhaps even unleashed such a resurrected soul on the
Outlanders themselves. What would the bards say of such a tale?

What would they say? That was it!

Perhaps if she couldnt bring back the dead, she could speak with them!
Could any reach back so far? Could they contact souls from ages past?

Suddenly Elasia was in a splendid mood. She ran her fingers lovingly
along the desk of Dark Wood, savoring its value when considered in terms
of the lives of those lost procuring it. Yes, she should celebrate. She
should treat herself. Perhaps it was time for a pair of nightstands.
Elasia began writing the letters to procure the workers, letting out a
small sigh at the simple pleasures in life.

Racial Hatred Outline: Part 2

Dark-elves should be treated with most extreme caution. There doesn't exist a dark-elf whose
own goals and desires do not supersede your own. In fact, it is not a matter of if the aims
and plans of another dark-elf interferes with your own, but only a question of the TIME those
plans will diverge. One should put as much planning and focus into the moment of that divergence
as they do the very plans they have laid out. For at that moment all should be in play to
assure which dark-elf comes out on top. Those of House Nameless are rare, assume that many
dark-elves will be working within the system of the houses, as chaotic as that will be.
Exceptions will increase as one moves out upon the surface, but take nothing for granted. Many
dark-elves will be pursuing two things: Power and Control. Take advantage of this, but assume
they are doing the same with you.

Racial Hatred Outline: Part 1

Humans: Too great in populace to be ignored, Elasia pities their short lives, but
understands something about their ambitions and legacy driven goals rivals even some
drow. Dangerous or Useful, this should be positioned accordingly.

Half-elves/Half-drow: The first an awkward jumble of the worse qualities of human and elf,
and the latter only able to reflect on falling short of greatness, like a poor
disadvantaged child looking in a festive day window due to blood. These handicapped
races should either make way for more pure beings, or step up and rise above their
inherited autism.

Orcs/Minotaurs: The orcs should be slaves. Those of the dark-elves and duergar cities have
always known. Such is the saying, "Only a shackled orc can reach its greatest potential". Anything
else, such as the clan "experiments" under Tremblefist, is an exercise like letting children
play in a roth field, running in circles and accomplishing less. Minotaurs with their
disgusting births, speech, and unmistakable strength are slightly different. Enslaved
yes, but in such a way their not to be underestimated wisdom lets them think they choose their own
actions. "Enslave a minotaur for a day, rule the day. Let a minotaur's actions enslave him, rule
a lifetime."

Arials/Felars: Falling short of the unique drive of humans, these even shorter lived creatures each
possess only one half of the dark-elves most blessed gifts...cunning and grace.

Fire/Cloud/Storm Giants: Brutes all, better to have them on your side then against. If only
the pompous storm giants didn't aspire to something more then they ever had a right to be. A
good giant ally can leave a dark-elf free to focus on real work of tactic, skill, and planning.

Gnomes: A walking treasure trove, a gnomes desire for valuables goods can be used in so many
useful ways. Often greedy for exploration, one can accomplish their own needs through allying
with such. If the deal turns south, cash in on the trove with a quick dagger. One must take
caution, many gnomes ally themselves with outlanders which makes them unreliable.

Deep Gnomes/Duergar: Long allied races of the dark-elves, both the svirfneblin and duergar
are more predictable allies than such as gnomes, if only for the shared grievances and hardship
suffered at the hands of the surface races. Feed a gnome gems and a duergar dark mithril and
alliances can be forged.

Dwarves/Elves: Dwarves and elves should be assumed enemies. Jealous of the evolution of dark-elves,
it is natural that the majority will seek to hunt and kill out of emotions they can't control.
For all intents and purposes, elves and dwarves should be estimated as one would tactically with
dark-elves and duergar, but accounting for emotional frailties. However, these same frailties can
call for unusual alliances and support from other of morally frail fabric, so be wary.

Chapter 1

House Namless, the Hidden House

In the dark corners of the underdark the war for placement among the
houses of the dark-elf city is legendary. In a society ruled by chaos,
treachery, and devious power few will stop at any means to raise the
position of their family's house.

To overreach and fail in your houses jump in power is to be utterly
destroyed and obliterated by the rest of the houses in the failed
attempt. Such is how failure is rewarded in Teth Azeleth and such
lessons are engraved into every young dark-elf's mind and soul.

Members of such crushed houses have few options... if any survive. Those
few who are lucky enough, or cursed enough, to do so will sometimes join
another house covertly or perhaps even abandon the city to seek their
fortunes elsewhere.

To have no house is to be mentioned with derision and scorn in the City
of Teth Azeleth.

Yet a group has formed, young by dark-elf standards, for it is only a few
centuries old, yet an unmistakable presence no longer ignored among the
world of caverns. Called House Nameless in an attempt to diminish and
mock the members, even the most powerful priests and mages of chaos
deride the name with an edge of barely concealed fear and anger in their
tone.

House Nameless is more than something a dark-elf falls into, but often
referred to as the hidden house, it is actively sought by those who seek
a better way outside the chaos the dark-elves have embraced for millennia.

Easily mistaken due to the trophies they collect from the priests, mages,
and other agents of chaos they hunt... those of House Nameless work their
way up in the ranks by overcoming first apprentices, neophytes, and
someday hoping to match the Chaotic Archmages of the Violet Spider and
Priests of the Chaos Gods they spend their life training to hunt.

Every bit as dark and twisted as the race they come from, their
relentless pursuit of striking against chaos shakes the foundations of
dark-elven society as they stop at nothing to obtain the training,
contacts, and power to accomplish these goals.
