Description

The unnatural color of this duergar glows slightly unholy, as it almost
absorbs the light in a small radius around her, allmost like the darkness
envelopes the entire body. Nearly her entire head is covered with short dark
hards, ending underneath the black visor of her helmet.
His body is shrouded in well used armors, and a large shield is held within
her left hand. In her right hand an weapon is held with an firm iron grip.
Its difficult to see the type of weapon she wields, but you see dried blood
on the blade. Her dark brown eyes peers at you from within the safety of the
helmet watching your next move. Her arms and legs looks strong quite strong
and not very feminine, yet she seems to move around with a swiftness of a
gazelle.

Also, my eyes and ears within the black sect told me it would be wise not to be to good
friends with the current Dread Lord, as he was soon to be replaced. According to Jarlduz, Wrexin will be
the new Dread Lord, so perhaps my gamble paid of, if he will be the new Dread Lord.

Distubing news

Jarlduz approached me today, saying he was betrayed by the current council.
Such fools they must be, as Jarlduz are the pillar of the Empire. Only one of
the current council members holds my respect, and that is the High Priest.
Who is being betrayed by the Shadow Lord.
The incompetent Shadow Lord plots against the Emperor, and have called for a
vote. The Shadow Lord is weak, he has knowledge, but he ends up dead every
time. The Dread Lord spends more time trying to gather wands, than actually
lead the sect. The War Master is rarely seen, and only the current High
Priest seems to do allright, but he is betrayed by the Shadow Lord, who wants
the other Priestess, Reegun as his High Priest.

So, Jarlduz asked of me, to speak with the High Priest, not to give away that
he knows about the plans and have told me, but to tell me of the betrayal of
the Shadow Lord. So his vote wont be in the favor of the Shadow Lord.

If Jarlduz is remaining on the Throne, I shall become the new High Priest,
but if he is cast away from the Throne, I will do anything within my power to
have him back there. He is an old Duergar, and im young. I shall have my time
at the Throne as well. No doubt.

A young dark mage Wrexir came to me earlier. He offered knowledge of the black sect in exchange
for a promotion. I valued the offer, and 25 gold for a promotion, when he will bring me 20 gold as well
is cheap for some eyes and ears within the other sects.

However, I have still not found my Lord again.

The meeting with the Emperor.

Sitting at his Throne, in the mighty palace north of Balator, the Emperor
rested, yet an aura of calmness and authority surrounded his very person.
Being one of passion, Miralak was eager to know what the motivations of the
Emperor was, what had driven him this far.
While talking with the Emperor, Miralik learned more of the Emperor, than
perhaps any other of the Empire. The hours passed by, drinks and food where
served while the two continued their talk.

The first meeting with the Lord

ways. What motivates and drive him, what keep him going. Miralik didnt have
to wait long until the first meeting of the Emperor. Shortly after the
meeting with the Lord, Miralik was busy killing children in the orphonage,
when the Emperor came by. When offered the oath by the Emperor, Miralik
gladly accepted.

After that, only once have Miralik seen the Emperor, making it a little hard
to get to know the Emperor.

However, Miralik went on to make her worth in the Empire. Making lots a
allies in the lower ranks of the Empire, so that the upcoming people of the
Empire, knows what she stands for. Thus making it easier, to maybe one day to
raise in the Ranks of the Empire. At least the first step has been
accomplished, by making it to the rank of the Divine.

Chapter 1

Miralik - The shaman

Miralik was born within deep within a forgotten duergar encampment in the
dark sewers of Galadon.

Her father, Gradaa was a warrior devoted fighting with swords and axes and
when Miralik was younger they often practiced with each other, as weapons and
brute force was the way to break your enemies. Gradaa said that any man or
female must be able to handle weapons to survive.

Miralik like the training her father gave, but a true warrior she would never
be. Her mother died giving birth to Miralik, so the mother role within her
childhood was forfilled by the local priestess, a woman of holyness and great
powers. Damas as her name was was a true healer, her prayers would heal even
the deepest wounds or cure the strongst poison. Miralik was facinated by the
fact that even her father, a strong warrior had difficulties from timeto time
that he couldnt handle. At one time a poison nearly killed him, and then
Damas stood forward, mixed a few herbs, and prayed to her Lord and moments
after, Gradaa was within a deep sleep. Miralik looked at Damas, then at her
father again, and moments after Gradaa stood up, and not a single wound was
to be seen upon him. Miralik was shocked, how could a single prayer heal the
deep wounds in just a few hours?!

Miralik began to make up excuses for quitting her fathers training and
visisted Damas within her temple instead, learninga few prayers. It required
all her inteligence and wisdom to just make a simple prayer, but she
continued to study the art of healing and prayers. Shortly after a tournament
was held for the children of the encampment one that her father had arranged
because he wanted to prove to rest of the encampment that Miralik was
hisdaughter, and strong and fierce as any son. Miralik was indeed a true
warrior and not a mere priest. Miralik was a little scared because she had
skipped her weapon training and focused upon the prayers instead.

Her dark heart wanted to win, but there was no way she could defeat the
strongst child, Iaalic, in the village who had practiced with swords and
maces his entire youth. Miralik heard of a dark altar placed within the
sewers somewhere, and went there he stumbled across a few prayers that she
had never heard before, after a few days of hard work she had learned himself
aprayer that would render the victim blind, and another prayer would poison
the veins of them. She was thrilled when the day of the tournament came, the
first battles she could fight and win with just her sword and shield, but in
the final she was rushed by his opponent, and had to flee briefly, uttering
the few prayers she had learned so far, healing his wounds, and when she was
rushed again, she was prepared.

She uttered the prayer she learned and Iaalic was blinded. With a satisfying
look upon her face, she walked around the blind foe, and then uttered another
prayed and Iaalic collapsed in pain upon the ground - poison running within
his veins.
