Chapter 7

Lord of the Twin Honors Destuvius

Lord Destuvius and the Offer
Saphina was within good spirits this eve.
Her isle thrived with new faces and fresh souls.
Each relying on her as their leader to hold balance still.
They set out against the palace, the inner-throne room ripe with items of the
light.
Like a ferocious herd they set Qintaris to lay in the dust before moving
within the bloodied halls.
With their claws, teeth, and trampling feet they bent the imperials to the
whim of balance.
And it was then and only then Lord Destuvius revealed himself.
Challenging their motives.
Most importantly Saphina's.
As balance was maintained from Qintaris' death he was baffled by why they
still pressed.
But he unlike Saphina did not know how fickle balance could truly be.
And that without the freeing of the items as soon as he was whole it would
return to its previous state.
Whereas everyone fell back Saphina held her ground. Freeing the items and
sacrificing the Codex of Darkness and Order before the Lord Destuvius
himself.
And so the conversation ensued.
After a debate of ideologies-
It was made clear to Saphina that he was intrigued by her.
And the Zealous flame that blossomed within her chest.
Stating that if she so wished it...
She could find her place within the Palace itself.
An offer that, although came off as a great compliment coming from the Lord
of Twin Honors-
Was not what Saphina wished for her life.
But even so when a Dark Lord brings his figure before you.
Thoughts can begin to creep within your mind.
Those of which, if not rebuked may grow into something far more sinister...

Dreams

Dreams
Vivid, paintings of various scenes slowly began to creep their way into
Saphina's subconscious.
Often leaving her in a frightened stupor.
Animals of various shapes danced, fought, in a bloody fury.
All centered around her figure.
She could neither scream, nor call out.
For her own sounds only enlivened them that much more.
They called to her, beckoned to her inner soul.
To become not simply one who shifted into them, but one of them all the same.

As much as it scared her it excited her.
And so she succumbed to their whim-

Saphina has come to realize her purpose upon the lands, as it solidifies
before her more and more with each passing day.
She was a beacon for others aspirations.
Enacting their will as she could. For those who unfortunately would never be
able to live them out their selves.
Through intuition and empathy she was capable of nurturing and loving.
She was able to move and be moved as a pebble would through a stream.
Many years had passed since her loves last words to her.
And from the day she vowed to keep alive his aspirations.
But from her past loves aspirations formed those of her own..
To lead the Isle.
To protect, to nurture, to defend, and to love all those who inhabit it.
As a mother would her child, as a sister would her brother.
Quite a colorful aspiration she would enact what was deemed necessary for it
to come to be so.
For in her eyes she already saw herself as a leader within it's own rights of
the word.

Understanding

The Closed fist vs the Open hand
Her duty since the day she graced the isle with her presence has been to
preserve balance.
By balance she met both the equilibrium of those of factions, and that of
ones self.
As the keepers fought for an ultimate "zen" if you will.
Through younger years shown a more savage Saphina, calmity has over time
shown her that she can enact a difference through various means.
But even so, she finds herself to clash with the Elder Rhyme.
A man who's hands seem to nearly always be open.
He a pacifist, and she a realist.
The clash not for control, but mere understanding.
Acceptance is all she wishes. As she continues to strive to be a better than
the day before.
And to do so, she recognizes that she must somewhat humble herself to the
understanding of the different keepers that may walk the isle.
Especially with her aspiration of leading them one day.
Even as she fought day to day for preservation and healing.
She kept the question within the back of her mind.
Can this situation be handled with an open hand.
Or must I end this quickly with a closed fist?

Chapter 1

Humble Beginnings

Bred upon the land with humble beginnings she set about the lands with a
curious soul.
Often going with the winds and change as it came.
Her sprightly spirit and child-like mannerisms and takes on life have caused
many to misjudge and categorize her.
As nothing more than a dreamer, someone who is unwilling to grow up and make
the tough decisions that fate is willing to cast upon you.
It was within Galadon, the place her ponderous soul choose to settle for a
time.
That this would all change.
That this would all change.
See love has a mystique and odd way of blossoming within a young soul.
Bringing about change in its puriest form.
It was within the guide of changelings, a place where she discovered her
innate magic inheritance.
That she fell for a young wizard himself.
His flirtatious bouts of courting, and effortless fits of chivalry.
Swept a young Saphina well off her feet.
Things seemed at their best for her, time flew by as she studied both magic
(which brought her great happiness) and spent her days
prodding at a young and new love.
It was so until this was ripped from her.
When her love, a young one himself fell gravely ill.
Magic no longer heeded his call.
And ironically so no matter the amount of healing both through prayer and
magical means...could he be restored.
Tears fled her eyes, enough to fill the Voralian Tears.
For she knew with his death a piece of her would be lost all the same.
She had a choice to make.
As she sought to grant his dying wish.
To leave an imprint of their shared love upon these lands.
To never leave off for tomorrow what could be done within todays time.
And as a personal wish, she sought to protect the very balance that drove
him.
As a keeper of the Isle he taught her so well of.
An island built on the eternal love of the first bondmates.
And entities of sudden change that where kin to her unpredictable soul.
It was upon these days.
That Saphina would blossom, from curious child to passionate keeper.
And so it twas' that the story unfolded-
