Description

Towering over six feet eight inches in hight, this burly man
seems to be doing everything he can to diminish his height.
Stooped shoulders, a bit of a bow to his neck, his knees
seemingly bent perpetually to let him seem shorter than
he truly is. His young face is covered with a stout beard
hanging well down into his chest. In several places it is
braided with what seem to be dwarven rune stones at the
ends, Thirteen of them to be exact. His hair and beard are
a bright, thick, burning red. His piercing blue eyes gaze
out on the world with interest, and an inquisitiveness of
youth. His hands are strong and appear to have a great
many callouses of one used to swinging heavy things. As
you gaze more closely, you are able to see that....

The Days beh long, the works hard. We got Squires and Scribe
comin in force. Some o them be greener then the grass in a
field full o bulls. But it be on us, as the elders o the Fortres
ter impart bits o wisdom. I been tryin, bits an pieces as I kin,
but a more concerted effort needs ter happen. I'm tryin ter git
folks intrested inta the Collegium. Teachers ter volunteer. So
far, ain't got a one. Kinda disappointin dat. Part o me wonders
if its that they don't want ta, or dont think they kin. Somethin
I'm gonna have ter work on wit them I guess.

Lost the Drinkin contest nah long ago. Weren't surprised really.
Had ter drink a couple buckets full o that frufy elfy wine. Damned
if meh head weren't splitten the next day. One o these days, I see
that little thief agin, I'm gonna challenge him. Kint have me name
go down as the second best drinker in the lands.

Chapter 5

Roleplay summary

Risgran has the exact opposite of Small Mans Syndrome. Totally
uncomfortable with his size, it leads him to come across as
meek to those who don't know his true self. Deep down he knows
that his body is that of a human, but his heart, raised true and
strong belongs to the mountain. He has dwarven mannerisms and
even their bad habits. He is truly a dwarf stuck in a Humans
body.

Risgran is kind, and in most cases the gentle giant. However,
when it comes to the Wicked, he has little patience for their
ways.

Risgran follows the path of Passion, among his lords tenets.
He is true to this in that when he chooses to do a thing, he
gives all that he has to it. Never giving less than his best.
He intertwines Courage and Wisdom in this by knowing that some
things are difficult and he must keep the Courage to see them
through, and that only in this can Wisdom be gained.

He has no true path in Life yet, but he has heard inklings
of the Fortress and likes what they stand for. he will seek
to learn more.

Chapter 4

Finding himself

Risgran knew in his heart that it was time. Towering over
any two of his kin standing on each others shoulders, he
knew that it was time for him to take his walk about. His
father had told him he would know when. He never believed
it. Always thinking himself a part of the mountain in which
he grew. The young dwarves of his clan had, in fact, given
him that Moniker. The Mountain.

Rogran knew there was something else tugging at him. something
more. He traveled down through the foothills into the city
of Akan. Tales had been told of the man who thought himself
a dwarf, all over Akan. Met with scorn and disdain, Risgran
spent most of his time with the only one who did not shun him.
Warshova.

After months with the guildmaster, she sent him to Voralia
to Study with Nicolette, hoping that in a place where he
wasn't so notorius, he could find the peace he needed to
learn.

Things with Nicolette went well enough, but there was still
more. It was then that he felt the tug. West out the
Fortitude gate, west of the crossroads he went. Never
stumbling, his feet sure and true took him to a path south.
Counting his steps, thirteen to be exact, Risgran walked
with confidence into his Lords shrine, and into the rest
of his life.

Chapter 3

A mountain of a dwarf

Risgran, now almost into his maturity, had grown at an alarming
rate for a dwarf. A fact which his parents could no longer hide.
He stood well over six and a half feet in height, weighing more
than two of his kin combined. Strong as five oxen, he made his
way under the mountain moving large boulders to help the miners.
Not long after his fifteenth birthday, his father took him topside
to show him a new hut he'd build for his son. No longer able to
spend long hours cramped under the ground, Risgran would have the
room his parents new he needed. It was at this time as well that
his father took him to that old burnt out village where he was found.

Explaining what happened, Trogan told Risgran of his true heritage.
Longing to have the secret aired, Trogan was still fearful of the
boys reaction. Risgran, looking upon the rubble, looked back at
his father and with kindness in his eyes said "Yer the only kin
I know, ain't no disrepect fer the one who gived her life up fer
meh, but I ain't got no feelin in me beared other than the ones
yer put there. Me heart is always gonna be un'er the mountain."

Trogan smiled as they walked back, knowing that his boy would
be all right.

Chapter 2

Tall for his Age.

Risgran ran through the tunnels, fleet of foot, he did well
keeping up with the other children. No beard yet, but his
father assured him that some just came to their beards later
in life than others. At ten, he towered over the other dwarven
children. Again, his parents comforted him, saying that some
children were just born... Bigger.

But Risgran, a dwarf at heart, knew that he was his parents
child. Already adept at moving around the forge, he worked
hard with his father learning the ways of his Kin. But his
true love was found in the small chapel his father had carved
in the back of their home. Faceted with thirteen walls, the
cave was decorated with the pillars of his fathers faith,
Courage, Passion, and Wisdom. Risgran loved to spend time
there, often sneaking sips from the holy chalice that was
perpetually filled with whiskey.

Chapter 1

A babe among the rubble.

Trogan and his band of dwarven warriors were spent. Having battled
long days and nights along the sides of the mountains against the
horde of duergar sent from below. The duerg had ransacked a small
human settlement. Traders mostly, who helped take goods from
the mines of Mortorn. The place was in ruins, most of the houses
were rubble, many of them burning. It was here, as the fog of war
was lifting that the cry was heard. It was the cry of a babe,
strong, and yet healthy.

"By the Thirteen, let meh find this youngin, that in this tragedy
some little bit o' the Light can be brought forth." said Trogan
as he marched off towards the screaming child.

There, under the rubble of a fallen home, cradled in his dying
mothers arms, Trogan found a babe, wrapped in a blanket. Still
young, yet, larger than most human babes that Trogan had heard
of. He took up the young child, and its screams stopped almost
immediately.

"Oww, ya little bugger, let yer go o' the beard." he cried as the
babe held on for dear life to it's savior.

"Guessin yer gonna have ter come wit meh. Ain't got no youngins
o' me own ya know, maybe the wife'll take ya in." Said Trogar in
an uncomfortably cute voice.
