Description

A frightening and imposing figure towers here, clad in thick black plates.
His features are obscured buy a full helm, with the likeness of a demon
painted across the front. Oddly, wisps of smoke seem to be rising from the
joints in his armour and the smell of sulphur surrounds him. He carries
several huge weapons, themselves nearly the size of a man. As you keep
looking, you think you hear a raspy voice whispering, but you can't be sure..

Chapter 1

Background

Nabor was born in mount Kiadanah Rah. His parents were of the warrior caste.
He was fifteen years old when his father was killed by invading storm giants,
and his mother given away to another warrior. As an act of mercy, he was sold
into slavery rather than killed. As a captive he was often cold, unused to
being away from the fires, and often hungry. For several years he was made to
fight with men and wild animals for the entertainment of a crowd. His life at
this time was governed by fear and anger.

Soon after, before he perished, his salvation came in the form of an
eccentric old wizard who had come to town to purchase reagents. He purchased
young Nabor to serve him in his isolated dwelling deep in the woods. The
firghtened giant was difficult to control, but the wizard was patient. When
he tried to run away, he would get lost and the wizard would find him, feed
him, and set fires to keep him warm. Eventually, Nabor began to learn to keep
his bursts of frightened anger in check, aided by an enchantment cast by the

Eventually, Nabor came to appreciate his old master, and vice versa. He never
forgot his early years at the volcano however, and still feels a kinship with
other fire giants. The wizard, who wrote magical scrolls as a profession,
taught him the rudiments of spellcasting, and to read and write, something
Nabor found much easier than speaking in the language of humans. However, the
wizard passed away before Nabor could learn how to imbue his own writings
with magic.

Hoping to continue the study of magic, the one thing that gave him solace
from he dark memories of his past, he enlisted in the only guild that would
teach him magic - the anti-paladins. Hoping to learn the secrets to the
manufacture of magical scrolls, he sought the company of those known delve in
the lore of the unkown, the Scions of Eternal night.
