Ackor the Legend of the Battlefield, Dogmatically Misguided

Description

A flurry of green feathers acompany the motions of the large avian
being before you. He stands a little over seven feet, making him a
giant to all other races, save for the giants themselves. Glistening
and twinkling in the light is a golden mask of jewels through which
two solid blue eyes can be seen staring back at you. Various armor
covers his body almost everywhere, hanging loosely in some parts
but does not seem to impede his uncanny movements. A small and
sharp beak sticks out from his face, blood dripping from it constantly.
The armor he wears also bears different hues and shades of blood,
some of it still glowing. Around his waist is a various assortment of
daggers and knives as well as a sword sheathed on each side. His
hands grip two swords in an odd fashion. Each sword is held by its
hilt, but faces downward instead of upward how other swordsmen are
trained to fight. There is something uncanny and sinister about him
but the look on his face shows a calm peace almost as if in a trance.
Dangling from his waist is a silver chalice, the blood dripping from it
and covering it giving it an almost sanguine look.

Future Goals

When Ackor first joined the village long ago he knew that the current
Commander, Salyeris, was getting old. He could see the wrinkles in
her face. She had seen four drillmasters in her time as commander. She
had outlived many villagers. She had seen them come and go. He knew
that one day she would also too be gone and the village would need a
strong, courageous, and competant leader. As Ackor and a good friend
in the village, Abiritha, grew within their guild they would always
joke about being Commander and Drillmaster. This is something he would
like to be, and has taken steps to gain villagers trust and be a "leader"
amongst them. He knew that he would have to first live long enough to
see the Rites. Then he would have to prove himself as capable enough
to be the Commander or Drillmaster. He knows well all the other villagers
could probably see themself as the Commander or Drillmaster. He would
have to step up and stand out amongst them.
Ackor also has a goal of finishing his commandment by the mighty Lord
Akresius in bringing a sacrifice that shows his True Victory. He has
thought long and hard about this and has narrowed it down to what he
he feels would be appropriate. He hopes that he can speak to his Lord
soon, for his health wanes and hopes maybe he can tell him some way
to become as healthy as he used to be.
These two things are on his mind constantly as he travels through Thera.

Chapter 5

Dogmatically Misguided

Many battles have passed and Ackor sits in his hut atop a throne of
skulls he has built for himself. He has fought the best in the land
and has found Victory. Sometimes he has found defeat. He has tried
his best to stay true to how a 'True Bearer' should act. Once though
he forgot himself and lost his way. His most prized weapon,the Skull
Sword was taken by a maran. The maran vowed to not fight him with
honor and he let his rage drive him to breaking into the Fortress to
kill the dwarf, Davnan. With that he turned the beauty of combat into
something ugly as he fought with nothing but rage and in the end only
found defeat.
This was not how a 'True Bearer' should act as reminded by the mighty
Lord Akresius he smited him with lightning. He was commanded to relearn
how a 'True Bearer' should act. He had displeased his Lord and went
to his hut to relearn and refocus.
Awhile has passed since then and Ackor has been, in his mind, walking
the path of a 'True Bearer' once again. He has sought out his Lord
but his words seem to fall short. In his mind he wonders if his Lord
will ever speak to him again. If he can find favor in his eyes once
again.

Chapter 4

Awaken GreenWing

Ackor's eyes open up slowly and as he tries to sit up pain wracks his
entire body. Bandaged from head to claw it is painful for him to move
as he manages to sit up. So many questions ran through his head as he
looked about the room around him. Why was he not dead? Where was he?
As he looked around he noticed he was in a small room that resembled
an office of some sorts. He stood up best he could and began examining
random things he saw. There were scalps, skulls, jars of blood and
other trophies of some sorts everywhere as well as weapons of different
kinds everywhere. The door opens and a large fearsome cloud giant steps
foward to him, Thrym Bloodletter.
"So you have finally awoken?", Thrym says in a deep tone. "I had my
best defender bandage you up best they could. You have been asleep for
a week, I am sure you are hungry. You were brought here it seems after
you were found nearly dead in Hamsah. The orphanage to the south would
not accept you. They only take humans. You are welcome to stay here
until you get back on your feet. Or wings. Whichever you prefer. Now
you must be starving. I am well. You can tell me what happened. You
yelled a couple times in your sleep. Something about a mage it seemed
like one or two times you did. Now tell me your name and your story."
"My name is Ackor Greenwing...", starts off as Ackor begins telling
Thrym the story of all he remembered. He explained that it all seemed
like a bad nightmare and he could hardly believe it was real. As he
told the story he scarfed down venison and water and it felt refreshing
to his aching body.
After he told his story he and Thrym began to talk some more as Thrym
began telling him of his hate for mages and his glorious days of being
a Battlerager. He agreed to teach Ackor the ways of combat and that
once he had healed he could begin his training. A few days passed by
and Thrym comes to Ackor one morning bright and early, a practice sword
in his hands. Inscribed on the side of the hilt says 'Ackor GreenWing'.
Thrym hands him the weapon and says "Your training begins now."

Chapter 3

The Nightmare (Final)

Out of the sword spews acid and lightning at the same time straight
towards Daiko. It happened so fast and Daiko was in such a blind fury
that he could not avoid them. The reflection on Ackors eyeballs show
his father going down. It all seemed like slow motion to him as he
thought his father to be invincible and the best avian warrior alive.
Daiko's head is cut completely off and rolls near the mortally wounded
Ackor. He looks into Ackor's eyes and lets out his last words....
"Avenge.....me....". His eyes roll into the back of his head and he is
no more. The sword of Darkness shrieks eight times as it feeds on the
soul of Daiko. Its unholy power growing tremendously.
Out of nowhere another avian pops back into existence and glares at
Yuzilo. "Why did you not use that from the beginning, you waste too
much time playing with your prey.", scoffs the other avian. "I was
about to just kill him myself...". An evil glare can be seen on the
face of Yuzilo as he says "And I would have fed your corpse to the
nightwalkers. Do not test me.", Yuzilo barks back angrily. He walks
over to the fallen body of Daiko and kicks it. "Thank you fool, your
offering is appreciated."
"What shall we do about this little one, he seems to still have some
life in him...", says the avian transmuter to Yuzilo.
Yuzilo walks over to Ackor and stands over him. He looks down at Ackor
and says with a slightly evil laugh "This moment will always haunt you
boy if you manage to survive. You will be consumed by your hatred for
me. Challenge me, when you are ready to fight a demi-god."
Yuzilo lets out an evil laugh that continues to get louder as he walks
back towards the other avian. Ackor's vision slowly begins to fade
to black as Yuzilo motions towards the transmuter and they disappear
before his eyes.

Hearing the screams of his wife, Ackor's father, immediately grabbed
for his sword and rushed the avian anti-paladin. "Remember me Daiko?",
the anti-paladin said with a grin as lightning shot towards the fast
approaching arial. Dodging it barely and thrusting his sword at the
dark knights face Ackor's father replies "It cant be...you are dead."
His sword scratches the face of the dark knight as he also dodges the
initial attack. He flaps his wings with great force as he lands a few
feet back. "Or so you thought...but you were wrong. And now I shall
have my revenge.", says the avian. Ackor lies in a lump next to his
bleeding mother. He reaches out for her hand, his vision blurry and
slowly fading to black. As he does the dark knight utters some words
as lightning arcs from his hands towards Ackor's mother. Daiko leaps
into the air to block the incoming lightning, taking the full force of
it. It knocks him back some and at the same moment the anti-paladin
rushes towards Ackor's fallen mother dealing brutal lashes across her
body. She slumps over to the ground...DEAD. Her blood splatters all
over the place and covers the surprised face of Ackor, even into his
mouth. His first taste of blood. The anti-paladins whip shrieks with
unholy power as it feeds on the soul of the fallen avian woman. Seeing
what just happened Daiko rushes the anti-paladin in a blind fury. He
swings wildly and crazily, missing as he does blood and sweat covering
his face. As Ackor looks in horror as the corpse of his mother, her
blood everywhere, he begins to feel a hatred for the anti-paladin. The
sounds of combat still erupt near him as Daiko and the anti-paladin
fight.
Suddenly the corpse of his mother stands up and looks around before
toppling into a pile of dust before Ackor. He turns slightly to see
his father and the anti-paladin still engaged in combat. Daiko seems
to have gained the upper hand. "Let me show you something Daiko...
the last thing you will ever see...", says the dark paladin with an
evil chuckle. From across his back he pulls out a sword of Darkness,
its unholy power almost seemingly crushing the air around him. "I will
KILL YOU Yuzilo! You will PAY!", Daiko says as he rushes him. A wide
grin can be seen on his face as he swings his sword in a sweeping arc.

Chapter 1

The Nightmare

When Ackor was young he and his parents were out visiting Hamsah Mu'Tazz
shopping in the stores in the market. Only about thirteen in age he was
still a child at heart and his soul neither good nor evil. He loved his
parents and they were a happy family. His father had served in the avian
royal guard for many years and he had finally been allowed some time for
a vacation with his family. His mother was a seamstress and had made a
very good living selling her exclusive avian clothing. As they stood at
the center of the marketplace deciding which store to go to next suddenly
an unseen force approached bumped past Ackor nearly knocking him over. He
was holding his mothers hand and she nearly fell over with him. Looking
around he saw nothing, but then out of what seemed to be thin air a bolt
of lightning strikes his mother down to the ground. Lightning arcs to
the young Ackor nearly killing him. As he screams in pain he looks up
just in time to see a large avian popping out of thin air, a large whip
in his hand, an evil look in his eyes...
