Standing here is a half-drow with an extremely rugged look to him. He is
dressed very warmly, furs and thick skins making up most of his clothing.

I've been living in this mortal body for a while now, and I have come to
like the world around me for the most part. The way the animals play,
the chirping of singing birds, the way the sun rises each new morning, a
mark of dawn, and new beginnings. Although my fight against the taint
shall ever be foremost in my mind, I cannot allow the beauty of this
world to be marred.

Among a more serious note, I can also feel my soul is less tainted as
when I was first turned. As each tainted soul fall before me, my own
becomes purer. Perhaps I can find a way back to my home, to ascend as an
angel once again. I can feel myself becoming stronger. I can feel my
old senses returning as I find myself purer than before.

Chapter 2

Purity of the soul

I find myself trapped, no...changed into this mortal body. How could I,
an angel of the heavens, have been so easily changed into a mortal. My
once radiant body has been replaced with this half-drow body. Along with
the mortal body, I can also feel it's needs. I have become mortal in
whole, except my memories and senses. I can sense the taint attempting
to creep within my body, to take root, and grow. I must not allow it.

I must keep my soul purified, that I can return to the heavens. Of
course, if many of my enemies discover me, they may try and kill me
before I can ascend back into the heavens. They would not suspect one of
my kind to be a dweller in the wilds. Second, to ensure purity of my
soul, I must continue the work I did in the heavens, the fight against
evil. With each kill, I work to purify their soul. With each soul I
purify, the taint within mine is held at bay. Perhaps with enough, I can
make my body truly pure once again. Lady Baerinika may be able to aid me
in my goal to purify my spirit, perhaps I should speak to her of it.

Arch-Angel to Mortal

The lecture hall fell eerily silent as the guildmaster begun creating his
circle of protection. Once completed with his circle, he immediately
began the process of casting. He closed his mind to all outside
distractions, and after a few agonizingly long minutes, he opened his
eyes, to view an Arch-Angel within his circle, it's feet above the
ground, a great gust escaping with each beat of it's wings. The
guildmaster, tired from his exertion, sat down to rest before it's
binding. He took a quick glance around, and noticed someone he did not
recognize heading towards the circle. He yelled out a warning to them,
but they did not heed it. The strange person, a dark-elf, it seemed,
walk straight into the circle, and immediately pulled out a wand, using
it on the Arch-Angel. The reaction was immediate.

The sound of cracking bones was heard as the Angel began to...change.
It's wings retracted, the holy aura it gave off disappeared. Within
moments, the figure of the Angel had become the image of a naked
half-drow. The half-drow wimpered a bit, and looked up around at
everyone. It held it's hands up, looking at it's own skin. Disgusted,
the former angel ran from the room, and was lost within the crowds of
people in the city.
