Fjodir Fjodirsson the Broken Claw of a Forgotten Black Cat
DescriptionYou see a man, about 6 feet tall with bright blond hair, cut evenly above the ear tips around his head, so that it barely covers his eyebrows but keeps his only bright blue eye cleared. That bright blue eye burn with cold passion that makes him seem possessed with something. Beneath them a sharp nose protrudes between high almost female cheekbones, even more prominent to his looks are the long scar running from just beneath his right eyebrow down across an empty eye socket, further down his chin. His neck is thick with muscles and where armor cant cover his body, thick muscles bulge out. The large hands are covered with calluses, obviously used to hard work. As you look further you see...

RoleChapter 15 A madman in the cave part 1 Added Sat Dec 3 13:10:58 2011 at level 51:The soft faint light glittered of the walls in the cave, an old one-eyed man could be seen, crouching over a small pool of water with his hand in the pool, barely moving at all. Suddenly the old man chuckled softly. "My old hands, these flowers are far to slippery for me, I wonder if the lady will be satisfied." Suddenly the old-mans voice shifted slightly, and his bright blue eye became cold as ice. "It better! This was your idea! No mine! Just admit it! You crave the souls as much as I do! WE need them, cant you see it? No matter what our intent are we NEED those souls. But you do know, dont you? That your entire life has been a misunderstanding? A mistake?" The cave filled with the sound of a mad cackling, the laughter of a madman. Briefly the old mans eye became somewhat warmer. "Perhaps I am mistaken, with it all... But yes, I need those souls... For the quest..." Slowly the old man lowered his head, shaking his head with a resigned look on his face. "Enough then! Let us summon the godess!" The old man began to rise, his limbs screeching from the strain of age and before he had stood up a beautiful creature arrived, seemingly out of nowhere. "So, what do you have for me Fjodir?" The old man slightly tilted his head in a sign of respect before motioning towards the beautiful flower floating in the pool. "I fear my old hands are not as stable as they used to be, no doubt that is not a trouble for you." A vague smile spread over the creatures face. "So, there is something other beneath that harsh shell of yours then Fjodir. I should have expected as much." The creature took at step closer to the old man, handing over a demon headed mace, covered with purple lotus blossoms before disappearing into thin air. With surprising speed the old man gripped the mace, uttering a few words before swinging the mace back and forth in the air while the hand holding it transformed into a demon-like claw. "Aah! Finally! This is my time! I am in control, you will no longer have power over me!" Throwing his head back the old man cackled with glee, while tears poured down his chin.
Fjodir has lost control over himself, he has abandoned his creed, a dark part of him has always known that this day would come, where he would realize that the dream he once had with a man on a battlefield, was indeed himself, but not with the intent of destroying darkness, but rather with the intent of gaining power. He now believes that the intent with that dream, if it really was a dream of truth, is to fulfill the prophecy of the Scions. He has however, hesitated to making a move towards the Scions due to his poor relations with most of them but the Chancellor, holding the souls of several Scions, including a huge portion of the Advisors he bided his time, hoping for the return of the Chancellor who had been gone from Thera for a long time.

RoleChapter 14 And the "gods" claim their power, again. Added Fri Nov 25 17:00:28 2011 at level 51:Suddenly the one-eyed mans hand pointed towards the dwarf, a low growl could be coming from the one-eyed man, obviously struggling before uttering a single word. The dwarfs eyes widened in surprise before closing, falling to the ground, bound by a magical slumber. Cursing loudly the one-eyed man ran through the city towards the docks, there he passed through a locked door and began mumbling new incantations, summoning the dwarf to him, as soon as the dwarf arrived new incantations took place, the one-eyed man still cursing, this time louder and obviously towards his right hand kept glancing out through the door, sensing the ghost of a powerful invoker, an ally to the dwarf nearby he rushed with his craft and struck the dwarf. Now it was the one-eyed mans turn to be surprised, the dwarf struck hard and fierce, driving him off, and yet, filled with the lust for blood, the man engaged again, just to find himself bashed into a wall, before a pair of swords pierced his body, making his soul leave his body and part with its life...
Once again hubris has caused the fall of Fjodir, and once again one of the immortal creatures holds his precious souls. Or rather, his hands precious souls. Fjodir is not in balance, he cannot entirely control his demonic hands craving for the souls, he can barely keep himself from craving it, that and more souls, more power, more blood. Still denying the fact that he has strayed entirely from his path, Fjodir tries to justify his actions with anything that he can grasp.
However, he was given a task, to either slay five of the village barbarians or both of their leaders. After several fierce battles, with the narrow escape of the commander and drillmaster Fjodir have however, managed to gather five scalps from different villagers and now he seeks Lady Rayihn to reclaim his souls, so that he may gather more, and more... Soon it will consume him, the lust for souls, the only thing controlling him is the risk of losing them again...

RoleChapter 13 Commentary of previous entry Added Sat Nov 12 07:40:49 2011 at level 47:Fjodir has died against a dark foe for the first time in forty years. Now he stands without anything. All he had gained in his entire life to precede with the quest has been obliterated, and yet, a glimmer of hope remains. His weapon has not been destroyed, an immortal creature named Enlilth holds it, seemingly interested in Fjodir somehow he has given vague hints that perhaps he would be willing to hand it back to him, depending on what value Fjodir might have for him. Spending weeks and months pondering the question, Fjodir has decided that he has but one thing to offer, a single thing that would not harm the light, not stop him in his quest, and yet possibly valuable for the creature letting others call him a god, a sacrifice he in a sense thought he already had made, his soul. He has already sacrificed it as in letting it become tainted, now he will offer it to Enlilth to be his to do as he pleases with after his death.
Fjodir has almost felt something, he thinks, in reality he is feeling something, but he refuses to let himself accept that. Fjodir is feeling something about the Sunwarden Ilianthia, it will cloud his judgment from time to time. It gives him a will to aid her with anything shed ask, and yet again the cold dark side of him will make him do his best to put up distance between them. All this has spread a tremendous chaos in Fjodirs heart and mind, he is preparing to sacrifice his soul to a dark creature ruling the Empire, and at the same time his has grown feelings for its opposite, the light hearted leader of nature, someone who seeks destruction of all things civilized and tainted. This chaos none can foresee the outcome of...

RoleChapter 12 A lifetime to waste Added Sat Nov 12 07:39:57 2011 at level 47:Standing before a giant guardian under a huge gate the one-eyed man focused is will, moments later a gigantic creature wielding two huge swords showed up, panic could be seen in its eyes briefly as it threw itself back behind the guardian. The one-eyed man muttered something and once against focused his will, this time there was no panic in the eyes of the beast as it threw himself at the one-eyed man, his shoulder hitting the one-eyed man right in the chest, knocking the wind out of him and pushing him to the ground. However the mace screaming and howling at the same time tore up big holes in the creatures armors and forced it to retreat.
The battle waged back and forth for half a day before the creature came out again from the Palace, once again knocking the wind out of the one-eyed man, moments later another gigantic creature showed up, wielding two heavy axes that it quickly drove together into the sides of the one eyed man. The one-eyed man cackled with glee and swung his mace around, hitting them both hard and square, tearing through their defenses, pressing them to retreat. This time though the one-eyed man had several cuts and holes in his armors, and blood could be seen trickling out from them, his only eye burned with fever as he laughed into the night and took up pursuit.
Once again he stood under the enormous gates, focusing his will, forcing the magic within him to transport the vile creatures he knew was in there to his location. At the blink of an eye the gigantic creature was there again, this time it threw himself at him without a moment of hesitation, triumph could be seen in his eyes as the other creature moved past the guardian, once again driving his axes into the one-eyed mans body, stunning him long enough for the other to once again bash him to the ground, for the first time in a very long time a shadow of panic drifter through the only eye the man had as he attempted to retreat, as he turned away from the man froze, his jaw wide open, gasping for air as a long blade could be seen, impaling his torso, blood spewing out from the wound. The man fell to the ground, and not far away, a ghost began walking, shocked by his own hubris and stupidity...
In a long dark corridor a gnome sits on the ground, looking quite uninterested in the couple before him that is nabbing at each other with to him pointless arguments about darkness and the light, he raises his hand to cover his mouth as he lets a long drawn out yawn escape his lips. The elven woman, named Ilianthia, seems to prove some point to a one-eyed man, who obviously doesnt agree with her, and yet, for the careful observant, one can see something in his only eye, warmth, a lust, something different from the feverish cold look that usually is found within that eye. The discussion continues about the elf seeking to study the mans abilities to affect souls and life and other less interesting things...

37886, Fjodir's Role Chapter 11

RoleChapter 11 A sudden change of heart. Added Tue Nov 1 17:26:16 2011 at level 45:A granite rod swooped through the air with tendrils of pure darkness drifting behind it and made a crunching sound as it crushed the headhunters leg, crippling him for the rest of his now so brief life, at the same moment a enormous vulture swooped down, pecking with its gigantic beak at the one-eyed mans only eye. With sharp reflexes the one-eyed man retreated from battle, only to quickly reengage, aiming his heavy blows at the huge bird. The bones of bird cracked as it transformed itself into an even bigger creature, a grizzly bear, powerful shields could be seen formed around it as it raked with its sharp claws at the one-eyed man.
The battle raged back and forth, at first with the bear seemingly with the upper hand, but as the hours passed the bear seemed to tire, and the one-eyed man just kept swinging his granite rod effortlessly, with a resounding thud the bears skull was crushed, bits of brain-matter and blood splattered all over the heavy canopy in the jungle as the now dead bear transformed into a mage. A strong howling could be heard from the granite rod as tendrils of darkness connected it with the corpse of the mage, a wide grin spread over the face of the one-eyed man and his only eye burned with fever.
Fjodir has come to the conclusion that he does not need the powers of the Scepter, deep down it is his soul rebelling against the dark acts its forced to perform over and over again. His long talks with the Sunwarden and Marshall has left some traces, somewhat bringing him back from the darkest of roads he had yet traveled. This is nothing he is conscious about, however he will be stricter in adhering to his old code again, he will still hunt those gray of heart if they pursue him, such as outlanders and villagers.
He has tricked his own mind into believing that his prior urge to join the Scions was only a trick to get closer to them, to get a good chance to harness the power of the Chancellor and his Advisors soul, so that is what he now aims to do. Either by joining them and then betraying them quickly, or by betraying them as being a pledge. But he can feel the weight of the pledge, and it is so easy just abide by its promises of power and the obligations that came with it.

37876, Fjodir's Role Chapter 1
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 1 The first battle Added Fri Jun 17 14:57:12 2011 at level 3:The air was dense with the smell of sulfur, ash and blood. Screams of the injured could be heard through the night and the sound of metal striking metal echoed through the city. Whimpering sounds could be heard from behind the tightly locked doors and hatched windows, commands were yelled as magistrates ordered guards around.
Hjalmar Fjodirsson glared into the shadows through his visor, carefully circling around on the spot with his huge two-handed blade pointed towards the shadows, shadows filled with claws and muscles, two guards and a magistrate lay on the ground next to him, eyeless corpses with their armors ripped to threads. He lunged his blade forward as he yelled a prayer and bright light pierced the shadows as he summoned the wrath of the jaguar upon the darkness before he disappeared into a whirling chaos of steel, darkness, blood and screams.
The battle in Hamsah MuTazz did not last long in comparison to the ancient struggle between light and darkness, order and chaos, but to its citizens it felt like a lifetime, for some, it was a lifetime.
As Hjalmar walked from corpse to corpse to cleanse them with prayers and to mend the wounds of the survivors he heard a scream, a childs scream, barely hearable over the moans and screams of the wounded. He followed the sound, and beneath the remains of two nightwalkers and a female mage of the chasm he found it, a baby, tucked away inside the robes of the woman, a woman he knew went by the name Shadra FelTara. He knew much about his enemies but he had never heard of any of them being pregnant, he hesitated only for a moment. How easy would it not be to let this spawn of evil be, let nature have its course. The thought only quickly touched his mind before he shrug it of, decided he had to do amends to his lady about such thoughts before he picked up the child.
Orphanage, thats was were Hjalmar thought the child belonged, but as he reached the orphanage in Balator he was forced to retreat, a roadblock of centurions were seen further down the road and the Imperial Army was on its toes. He quickly decided that the Balator orphanage wasnt a good place for a child to grow up, and so Hjalmar became a father.

RoleChapter 2 The training Added Fri Jun 17 14:58:30 2011 at level 3:From the very first day Fjodir was fed with the doctrine of lady Baerinika, the jaguar. About the ways of the light, the war between light and darkness, the way of the Maran. Hjalmar was set to make his newly found son a warrior-priest of the light, the greatest the world had ever seen. As soon as Fjodir could walk his physical training began, not long after when he could talk his lessons in religion started as well.
Hjalmar loved his son, but the war against the darkness came first, at all times. Nothing was of more importance than that, and Fjodir quickly learned that it was the way it had to be. One can say that if it was one thing that Fjodir learned, it was that nothing was more important than the vanquishing of the darkness.
The years went by and Fjodir grew to become a fine boy, strong both mentally and physically. It was only his social skill that was lacking, his training kept him from a regular childhood and he never got a single friend. He kept to himself and to his father, spending countless of hours honing his body and mind for the day he would be old enough to seek out the Paladins guild.
His father, a man of honesty had early told Fjodir of his heritage and his firm belief that none was doomed for darkness, it was all about ones choices and actions in life. This knowledge only made Fjodir even more determined to make his father proud and prove him right.
When Fjodir was twelve years old his father started to let Fjodir join him in the easier quests he set out to do as a squire. It was here things started to change...

Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 3 The first quests Added Fri Jun 17 14:59:45 2011 at level 3:The first quest Fjodir accompanied his father to was hunt down a released murderer, a man filled with the taint, but weak from his imprisonment and thus not much of a threat to Hjalmar and Fjodir, the man had been released from the city of Hamsah MuTaz after serving his sentence, but carrying the taint he of course still warranted by the light. Hjalmar and Fjodir caught up with him near Seantryn Modan, where the man took shelter. As they entered the city an elven magistrate showed up, carefully keeping an eye on Hjalmar and Fjodir. The man stood just across the square, laughing at them. Fjodir fuming with anger asked his father why he did nothing and was even more infuriated by the answer he got. The fugitive was protected by the Spire laws, and the magistrate was of the light, he could not risk hurting the elf in an attempt to kill the fugitive, or the possibility to accidentally hurt an innocent guard in the process, so they left the city, leaving the fugitive alive.
After numerous quests like this, were the prey they seeked to vanquish used the Maran code against Hjalmar to protect themselves from the light it became clear to Fjodir that the Maran code were flawed. The years went past and Hjalmar and Fjodir had numerous discussions in the subject, all ending up with Hjalmar saying: "We must not become what we seek to destroy."

RoleChapter 4 The quest ends and the dreams begin Added Fri Jun 17 15:01:35 2011 at level 3:When Fjodir was but weeks from his sixteenth birthday he was with Hjalmar on a more dangerous assignment, they were pursuing a group of orcs when they suddenly turned and came back at them, an easy fight but moments before Hjalmar had uttered his first prayer a falcon came crashing down from the sky striking Hjalmar hard before turning into a powerful lion, out from the woods a dwarven warrior came running swinging his axes in a blood frenzy, Fjodir at first thought it was help coming their way when he found himself facing the dwarf in a battle for life or death, he recognized the dwarf as a nexun, and he could see his fathers prayers being useless against the lion fighting side by side with the orcs, an excruciating pain exploded in his skull and things went black.
A long line of slaves walked between two wagons, the sound of whips could be heard in the air as the slavemasters pushed the caravan forward through the barren lands. The smell of ash and sulfur lay heavy in the air and as far as the eye could see the land was barren, save for a few fires in what may have been forests and cities. Orcs roaming through the lands, armies of duergar, drows and dark mages controlling slaves, building huge fortresses, castles and erecting cities. Darkness... And Fjodir knew that this would be the truth as the dream faded...
Paladins, elves, dwarves, humans, arials, storm giants, they were all there. Warriors of the light, carrying the standards of the Fortress and the gods of the light, a mighty army, facing an even mightier army of the dark... Looking at it Fjodir knew it was a lost cause, the darkness had the numbers, and the strength, and from his elevated position he could see the arial army on the flank turning their heads towards the army of light, they would turn on the light, as would the human army on the other flank... Suddenly, a man appears in the middle of the battlefield, a man in plain robes, except for a seal in the middle of the robe and on his shield, a seal resembling the Maran seal he knew so well. The man is wielding a huge sword, somehow enveloped in darkness, a sound can be heard from it, emerging over the sound of the armies, a wailing sound. The weapon, black as the night screams in agony and Fjodir knows. A soulstealer! The man drops his shield and pulls something out from within his robes, he raises his hands and points at the army of darkness and everything goes black. Fjodir knew what must be done...

37881, Fjodir's Role Chapter 6
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 6 Summary Added Fri Jun 17 15:02:39 2011 at level 3:Fjodir believes that the light must prevail and darkness but be destroy, at any cost. The cost is already set, and it will be his soul and countless of others souls as well. He aim is to find a way to destroy the darkness and he knows that to find that way he must shape himself into the perfect weapon, a weapon to use against the darkness, powerful enough to find and wield the ultimate weapon.
Fjodir sees himself as a courageous man, making the ultimate sacrifice for his cause, and he knows that he must stand alone with his choices.
He also knows that the gods have no real power, sure, they can kill you if you are not careful or make your life miserable, but in the long term struggle between the light and dark, they are also just pawns. So he will have nothing of them, he will be his own, a champion of man, a pinnacle of what a man can achieve to reach his goals, no matter of the means to achieve them.
He despises the Maran for not being brave enough to take the final step in the war against the darkness, he despises the Nexuns for the inability to pick a side and he hates the Spire and the Outlanders for ignoring the ongoing war.
Fjodir will do what he can to avoid killing a good-hearted being, but if theyre in his way, he will not hesitate, a weapon has no feelings.

37882, Fjodir's Role Chapter 7
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 7 Time for despair Added Fri Sep 9 12:53:09 2011 at level 29:The dwarven paladin glanced at him, gripping his sword harder. Fjodir knew from the start that the discussion was a lost cause. He chuckled loudly but stop quickly, he hadnt mean for that to come out loud.
Yer mockin me yeh fargin dark-spawn?
With a loud sigh Fjodir gripped his sword and prepared a teleportation spell just as the paladin mumbled a prayer glaring at him.
The peace of the forest was overwhelming compared to all the curses he had endured from the dwarf. Just in time it seemed, he rubbed the wounds he had suffered from the wrath of the "good" gods. Fjodir shook his head in dismay as he walked away, talking quietly to his father...
Depression and insanity is lurking in Fjodirs mind, inches away from taking hold. The constant mistrust of the others fighting his war is wearing him down, elves running at his sight, paladins striking out in ignorance, angels throwing themselves at him at the very sight of him. All this is wearing on him, as well as making him harder, harsher and by all means, more evil. He knows that he must steel himself, and he will keep his plans and intentions more to himself. Less inclined to give away his plans and goals to allies or enemies.
There are two ways for Fjodir to go, depending on how the world continues to treat him. Either he loses his mind and becomes insane, losing sight of his goals and plans. Or it hardens him, forges him in steel. Making him more determined to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Maybe even killing the innocent for the greater good. (Which he will eventually no matter what, but the way there might be slow.)

RoleChapter 8 A weapon has no feelings Added Sat Oct 1 14:06:11 2011 at level 40:Here my friend, I found this deep in the ocean. Neither of us can use it for quite some time but I want you to have it.
The thin man in dark robes hands over a white ribbon to a one-eyed man wearing some heavy armor, a cruel laughter can be heard from enormous orc standing over a sleeping young man whom obviously is in pain, a number of rotting zombies are lumbering around the scene. The one eye blinks a few times and the look is cold, cold as the depths of the aryth ocean as he excuses himself and moves up the alley into the shadows. Quietly he mumbles a few words and a barrier of magical power surrounds him before he steps back to the horrid scene where the robed man and the orc tortures the young man.
A weapon has no feelings, the words seems misplaced on the scene and the orc looks up just as the one-eyed man throws himself at the robed man bashing him to the ground and assaulting him with a spear crackling with electricity. The simple minded orcs naturally instinct takes over before he can think but the gods have seen fit for him to stay out of the battle. Moments later it is over, a shilling cry can be heard from the spear as it drains a piece of the robed mans soul.
Betrayal... No, I may not call it that. We have no friends, none at all, we have no feelings! A weapon does not have feelings!
The one-eyed man laughs in to the night, his one eye gleaming with insanity. Besides him the orc backs away, trembling with fear, anger and lust for blood.
Fjodir is doing his best to harden himself, to remove all feelings to better focus on the task ahead. His decisions are more and more affected by the growing taint of using his unholy weapons, he believes that he must venture into the inferno to gather "The Artifact" and to do so he needs power, a lot of power. At the same time he is repulsed by his own choices of late, using others dark of heart to advance has at the same time strengthened others of the dark. He has not yet forged himself into the kind of weapon his wishes himself to be, and he is struggling to accept the pain, cold and darkness that will follow from it, he realizes the magnitude of such a change but firmly believes that it is the way.
However he has gained a single friend, a brother in arms, a brother in blood. Tolmir a ranger that for some reason brings hope to Fjodir, he cant put his finger on it but for some reason he feels a kinship with him. And for the time being he considers him a brother. Will that last while he transforms into a weapon? Only time will tell.

RoleChapter 9 A moment of darkness, a moment of clarity Added Tue Oct 4 14:06:52 2011 at level 40:Just before the one-eyed man walked into the dark corridor leading to the brotherhoods meeting chamber, the man stopped and glanced up towards the sky, a golden eagle was seen high up in the sky, their eyes locked for a moment before it flew away.
The one-eyed man wiped the tip of the spear on his mantle before he continued into the meeting chamber, this time it was a foolish drow who had helped him get one step closer to the powers needed for his tasks.
He looked back down the corridor and wondered who that eagle was...
Fjodir has been approached by the Chancellor of Scions in an attempt to get Fjodir recruited for their dark purposes. After a long discussion about the Chasm, Fjodirs plans, at least the part of the plans that Fjodir could reveal to a dark hearted foe like Obregon. Fjodir actually considered tapping into the dark powers of the Scepter and make use of the vast knowledge amongst its members.
But in a moment of clarity he realized his error, and what he had almost done. He had almost agreed to kill light hearted creatures on a regular basis just to keep the Scepter with the archmage, of course the Chancellor had agreed to Fjodirs terms of refusing to assault anything lighthearted except in self-defense, but that was not enough.
Fjodir will become more and more tainted over time, and some day he will be killing anyone to obtain more power to do what he think needs to be done, for example, joining the Scions, but this day has not come. For now he feels a slight glimmer of hope that he managed to detect "a bad choice".

RoleChapter 10 The becoming of a weapon Added Fri Oct 14 18:56:15 2011 at level 40:The one-eyed man leaned back in his chair, seemingly relaxed. The room was silent, even though there were plenty of people, most of them students of the guild, dining after a hard day of practice. Most of them were standing, leaning against the walls, or even just standing up straight next to a table, eating. The scene looked odd, as there were plenty of empty chairs around the one-eyed man. Every now and then a few of the students glanced up from their meal, throwing nervous and sometimes jealously glancing at the pitch-black horn the man was gripping tightly with his demon clawed hand. A few words could be heard circulating as whispers around the room, the name Fjodir, Broken Claw, dark hunter and legend were some of them. The fear could almost be cut with a knife from the air.
Suddenly the one-eyed man stood up, obviously not noticing the rest of the room he started to talk to himself, out loud.
You are IT Fjodir, you are a weapon now, you have no feelings. You must do what know is right! The way you are hunting now will not take you were you need to go, you know what you must do...
All motion froze in the room as the one-eyed man uttered a few words and a barrier emerged around him as he left the guild...
Fjodir can feel the age taking its toll, he has almost reached his middle-age and yet he is far from the power he needs to gather the artifact, and at the rate things are going, he will be dead by age long before he is powerful enough. So, with this reasoning Fjodir changes his moral code. He will now begin to hunt those that are undecided where to stand in the war, something he knew all along that he might be forced too. Deep down inside he already know that he will be bending his moral codex even further, eventually he will start hunting those light of heart in the name of the light. He has finally taken a big step towards becoming a true weapon, he has almost isolated all of his feelings, just focusing on the one goal. With this, insanity will grow in his mind.
