Description

A pair of cold grey eyes like two chips of ice meet your gaze with a deep
intelligence and fiery passion...all hidden beneath the guise of a
simple-minded friendly giant. Heavy eyebrows and the jolly smile of a grown
child, the adventurer before you doesn't seem to have a care in the world.
Definitely lacking in the cleansing regiment of most adults, his body and
mixed armament seems caked in whatever mess he's been in as of late - bits of
snow and grass mixed with blood and earth, this cloud giant is constantly in
the thick and dirty world of Thera. Tugging around a gigantic arsenal of
weapons taller than most humans, their size and weight don't seem much as he
lifts them like children's toys. Agile and limber as he races around the
world in a dizzying curious fashion, his massive size and bulging muscles
hamper him little as he squats, climbs, skips, cartwheels, tip-toes and moves
like any small boy would. You're not fooled by the disguise though as you
notice an excessive amount of blood stains, scars and bone trophies that he
is indeed a blood-thirsty killer. Looking in further detail, you notice...

Chapter 5

Mountain Man

Mubloch hiked up the mountains while ignoring the stares of countless
dwarves he passed along the trail - they whispered in awe of his size and
then muttered at his failures. Mubloch never knew really how to handle
the fame that had come with becoming Drillmaster. All the eyes were on
him and with it came news of every flaw and every win. Luckily Nutty
never let him down, never gave him too much of a hard time - he'd lose
some flesh to some savage nibbling for an obvious mistake but it was
loving...in a psychotic squirrel kind of way. The mistakes had taken
their toll and death wasn't that far off....until he met Braegha the Wind
Rider, Sapper of the Black Canyon.

After some gathering of roots, without even help from his pet squirrel,
Mubloch took this strange concoction and under the instruction of Braegha
rubbed it into his wounds - a passed down secret from defenders long ago,
it repaired his body! Revitalized to his strong youth, Mubloch was
restored! Even Nutty took a taste (it nearly killed him as well) but it
did something deeper than just repaired his aching husk..... it repaired
his soul. Over the years, the anger of the primeval howl had become a
buzz in his ear....a deafening tone that grew with every day of silence
and pushed against his child-like soul. He wanted to know why he had been
ignored, why he had been left with this, why the woods never responded,
why he felt his rage would burn out.... a child hates to be ignored.

Braegha the Wind Rider, Sapper of the Black Canyon yelled 'Yes, perhaps
you are more than just a BattleRager...Two Sappers in the Village? Long
has it been...'

To refuel the soul, anger has to be refined and up this mountain was his
answer - the ringing of an anvil...

Chapter 4

My Nutty and Me

Mubloch walked into his hut in the village with another sigh of relief -
his heavy breathing slowly stopping after a long day of the Siege. He
hung his Drillmaster spear near the door and slumped onto the edge of his
makeshift bed. Nutty quickly scampered out of the large saddle bag,
stealing a hickory nut as he escaped. "Is ok, jus dun go outsides. Bad
stuffs Nutty!" The squirrel absently chipped away at the nut - Nutty was
always immune to fear and the horrible nightmares. Mubloch had always
admired that in his little friend, that despite every gruesome end
Mubloch came to over the several years of fighting, that he would still
cheer up his lifelong buddy. Mubs patted Nutty on the head with a soft
smile. "Das a good Nutty.."

Sliding his boots off quickly, Mubloch meticulously placed them just off
the side of the bed. He generally slept in his armor since you never knew
when the alarm would sound but always kept his boots off. Something about
how they felt freaked Mubloch out and the inability to wiggle his toes at
the edge of the bed was a crime. Sometimes the joy of putting on his
boots was the only smile he'd have that day....something was changing in
Mubloch. Over the years, his autistic nature hadn't changed too much but
inside he felt hardened. Perhaps it had to do with the war or maybe just
the endless nightmares that plagued his night and day. Mubloch was
beginning to hate anything that even resembled scary and would lash out
angrily and uncontrollably when he knew sometimes it was pointless....

But now as Drillmaster, he couldn't cave. He couldn't give in. The little
ones (they were all little to Mubloch) would come to rely on him. No
matter the cost or what scary thing was coming at him, Mubloch had to
continue on. He fought on for himself, the village and especially his pet
squirrel. If no one would stop the genocide of squirrels and cute furry
animals, who would? The Outlanders? Mubloch saw nothing but weakness and
magic goat-lovers in that neck of the woods. No, it was up to Mubloch!

That and Nutty would never let him quit. The little ragged beast had a
strong sense of resilience to him....and anger. Mubloch drifted into
dreamland as he watched Nutty savagely devour a nut...or was it a bone?
Nutty would never forget....and neither would Mubloch.

Chapter 3

Growth

Times had passed. Mubloch was now a villager (and Nutty too, but he
didn't know it). Change was coming...

Being an autistic berserker had given rise to very different view points
from many. The dichotomy between being lovable and yet murderous was
troubling to most people that met him. His actions were usually singular
in thought - making sure Nutty was happy, slaughtering mages, stopping to
be playful. In the eyes of most he was a child or a simpleton but there
was intelligence behind the mask - what was important to him was all that
mattered. Mubloch was also growing more impatient and easily frustrated.
Death was no fun at all and he didn't like to be tricked. It was deeper
than that though...he was just growing older and his true roots were
showing. At his core, Mubloch was fueled by anger and this came with a
deeper understanding of the world around him.

The anger could arise from being attacked or someone threatening his
dearest friend Nutty...or even moving towards him. It could show from
lack of hunger, complete boredom or nothing at all - the world may not
understand Mubloch in his behavior but the cause was easily seen when the
anger came. Some call it the Primal Howl, others call it accepting the
"beast within", or even reverting to our instincts. However you labeled
it, it defined Mubloch and grew every passing day as the anger inside
progressed. For the time being, Mubloch Osla had a target - magic....would
it last? Or would his anger becoming blinding someday...

Controlling a beast is one thing....asking the beast to control itself is
entirely different.

Chapter 2

How Mages Burned Down Ostalagiah

Seeing his life flash before his eyes, the student comically tipped his
hat and ran for his life. Mubloch snatched Nutty in his hand, quickly
pocketed him for safety and barreled through the woods after the defiler.
Driven by an uncontrollable meltdown, Mubloch surged faster than the
small student and almost had him until he reached the gray mists where he
was told not to go by his father - but it did not stop him. Almost
psychotically crying and cursing at the same time he screamed "SQUIRREL
KILLA, YOU GONNA DIE!" The Void echoed his chant louder and louder and
something began to happen as the scream became deafening loud.
Unknowingly to Mubloch, the Primal Howl was changing him - altering his
body as the mists coalesced around him like a snake. His muscles bulged
and ached as they grew unnaturally, his eyes struggling to stay open as
his blood raged and pulsed through his enlarging body - the once
small-framed cloud giant was growing enormous!

Mubloch just barely glanced the student through the fog, trying to exit
through a tunnel he'd never seen before. Following like a ravaging wolf,
Mubloch plowed through the tunnel and snatched the invoker's robes just
as he reached the surface to trip him. Squeezing tightly with his now
adult-sized fist, the frail human's ankle exploded with a SNAP and he
screamed out. Mubloch grabbed the first thing in reach, a felled tree
trunk and lifted it over his head to shadow his prey. Unable even to
coherently form words, Mubloch slammed the trunk into the begging student
over and over....blood sprayed in his face to the macabre orchestra of
bones snapping and flesh ripping, but he didn't care. After several
minutes, Mubloch relinquished his weapon and stared at the unrecognizable
mass that sat a few feet indented into the earth - nearby a dryad fainted
in horror. Drenched in blood, Mubloch whispered with his newly awkward
deep voice, "YOU....No....Hurt....Nutty no more..." That's when he
noticed the dwarf barbarian staring silently in awe next to him, his
mouth agape in amazement.

"HOLY HELLS, that was amazin!" the dwarf exclaimed as he jumped up with
excitement. Quickly checking on his squirrel friend Nutty, Mubloch turned
to the dwarf without an answer. Looking at his huge hands, he wondered
out loud as he flexed them "Dwarf do this?". Not really knowing what that
meant, the dwarf looked him over at what he thought was a simple-minded
giant in clothes from the past and saw opportunity.

"No kid, I aien' do it but can tells ya who did. Its dem bastid
mages...them burned The Village!" Mubloch reached into his pocket and
pulled out a visibly shaken squirrel. "Mages burn Nutty village too!"
Not knowing if this was an insult or not, the dwarf quickly shuffled
Mubloch out of the woods and began to explain what mages had done to his
home of Ostalagiah (a total lie) as they walked through the ruins he once
knew as his home.

Chapter 1

"YOU NO HURT MY NUTTY!"

The black-skinned slaver yelled "Slaves fa sale! Dwarf, Giant, Felar,
Human en Elf! 90 cop-....damn't Mubs, get outta here!"
The young cloud shouted back "Nutty be ok, Mubs not let him hurt."

The gargantuan black-skinned slaver watched in frustration as the meekly
cloud giant teenager nicknamed Mubs scampered off his auction block. The
brat had interrupted his entire business speech....AGAIN....but he knew
it was impossible to stop the slow whelp. He'd randomly stumble in
chasing his damnable squirrel, interrupt anything that was going on with
his childish questions and went rabid and borderline insane if you even
thought of touching his strange animal companion. It also didn't help
that his father was in charge of the Arena either... the slaver could
only nurse the idea of turning Mubs' head into a fine red mist. Rubbing
the stub of what remained of his left ring finger after their last
encounter, the slaver watched as Mubs wandered off into the streets of
Ostalagiah before continuing his marketing proposal.

Wandering aimlessly after his squirrel aptly named Nutty, Mubloch exited
through the massive gate of Ostalagiah and made his way to the
moss-covered woods nearby. Mubloch was intelligent despite his impairment
but he acted outwardly as young boys do....like little drug addicts -
laughing one minute, crying the next, trying to kill themselves with
death-defying acts for no good reason, being mean and also adorably
lovable...all while breaking everything they pass by like tiny tornadoes.
In the path nearby an elf screamed "OH GOD HELP THIS ORC IS EATING
MAGGGGAaa..." but Mubloch only talked louder to drown out the noise. He
enjoyed the numbness that came from over stimulation but it did prove
problematic as he was not noticing what was transpiring ahead in the
squirrel nest.

An invoker student was mindlessly mumbling the words of magic, his
tiresome practice and droning voice was only sprinkled with the death
whimpers of squirrels. Just like fish and other innocent animals that
mages practice upon, fire burned through helpless squirrels like it was a
firing line-up. Mubloch skipped to the edge of the clearing and stopped
abruptly, dumbfounded as he watched his little friends burn and scamper
off. The student snapped out of his trance as he noticed another and
smiled as he stuck his hand out in greeting but paused before fully
extending his arm. He sensed something was wrong. Mubloch was twitching -
not your small quirk or absent-minded ritual of movement....no, he was
seething with rage, his mouth beginning to foam. Muscles rippled and his
jaw dropped as he began to breathe from his mouth, his nose flaring. "YOU
NO HURT MY NUTTY!"
