Description

The massive fire giant before you stands taller than most even of his own
kin. His coal black skin clings tightly to his muscled body, and upon it
several small blue tattoos can be seen. Dominating his face his a
surprisingly heavy jaw with yellow teeth propounding from it. Bushy orange
eyebrows hang over dark eyes and is sometimes joined with his long red hair
that hangs in tufts down his face. The rest of the giants body is covered
with a layer of short orange hair making him look to be on fire. Muscled arms
end up in stubby fingers.

Thoughts on war

Ajeagre finds himself ones again at the library of Magistrates. The
lady Iunna gave him a question to think about. To be exact it was three
questions. What do wars mean to him? How do does he see himself in
them? And finally what is it that fires him up?

The first one is easy. The war on chaos. Without order we will be
nothing better than creatures slithering around in the muck of swamps.

As to the second, that one too can be answered with ease. He is a
warrior standing at the front line of the war and smashing his enemies
is what he has done all his life. In fact he knows of little else. He
is not a big thinker but he does try and learn all he can in the arts
of war, fighting styles and warfare. Ones he has perfected his moves
with the blades he is hoping to convince the guildmaster to teach him
more.

The third is the one that is hard to pin point. He has always been
aroused by power. If you are powerful your enemies fear you. If you
are powerful others respect you. If you are powerful people remembers
you. So if he had to say just one thing that fires him up it would have
to be his thirst of power.

Even though he could feel the blood pumping after just a insult or
seeing the Nexus fellas that give him the fetish to safe guard one
day and then strikes him the next. Of all the people he has meet in
Thera, the ones that has this double nature are the worst. He does try
and judge them individually though.

Chapter 7

Meeting with Gods

He finally did it and manange to talk to the god Iunna. From what he
can recall of the talk, he was strangely nervus during the meeting, it
went well.

She confirmed what he had suspected about Enlilth, that the duergar
mostly looks to himself. So the offer that was made was not just in
kind.

They also discussed more loosely about his future. He was asked to
think about what war he was fighting. What was the goal of his
endeavour? And for what is he fighting? All questions that he will
need time to think about. To find the true answer.

The Provost seems yet to be impressed by anything he does. All talks
between them have been short and he can't feel any praise in the
provost words. Next time he finds him he will ask for a more ordered
list of what need to be done to secure the place as Provincial.

Sitting in the Magistrate Library Ajeagre is working hard with quill
and paper. Writing has never been his strong side. The quill is to
small and the movements to distinct for his liking. But it has to be
done.

He has reached the pinacle of his guild, he has slewn criminal after
criminal, he has stoped attackes on the Spire and he has taken the
Scales of Justice back when it was needed. But still he goes unnoticed.
So here he is. Writing to the Provost to make his intentions clear.
There is a Provincial place open and he intends to take it.

He has also started to form a plan (if you could ever call what a giant
thinks up plans). He will become more active with his quill making his
voice heared through the messages posted to each magistrate. His campain
starts now and the message is simple. Aje for Provincial!

He also has taken time to send a message to the Lady Iunna but has not
gotten any reply. He will try with another as there are a lot of forest
to pass through to get there and the messenger could have gotten
intercepted by the Outlanders.

A different path?

It was the day of the moon. And Ajeagre was just about to head for the
village of the barbarians to teach the Commander and one of his
subjects to obey the law when there was a sound from the shadows.

The voice spoke to him and the singer. Asking them if they were done
with chasing criminals and offering them a place among the ranks of
the blades of the Empire.

This was of course spoke about with big words and with some length. The
giant didn't get it all. So he sought the Lord out again. As he had
first believe the Lord was asking him to take the Spire for him. But
the Lord had mercy and explained it to the giant.

He now finds himself in a dilemma. His structured life has been cast
into chaos of what has been said. And thinking out how it all lay
isn't something he can do for himself. He wishes help. But do not know
who to turn to.

Is the Duergar Lord just telling lies? Or is it the truth he is
giving him?

Life at the Spire beguins

The first hard trial in life, writing with a quill, is over. Ajeagre
managed to put down his words and got the attention of the Spire. He is
now one of them and a Guardian over Hamsah. The order of the Spire is
something that helps him understand it. But he sometimes finds it hard for
himself to stand in the lines. The chaos that ruled back home is still
fresh in his mind. And sometimes he finds himself pondering if he has done
the right thing.

As he is a giant the moments of pondering are often bref and usally ends
with him breaking something with his fist.

He has yet to find the God called Iunna but he has found out that she is
offen seen outside Seantryn Modan, so he will travell there and ask around
for more clues as to where her shrine is.

His training goes one but he finds himself to be have beaten three times.
And it wasn't something he was liking. And even though he didn't like it.
He found himself looking for protection. So he went to the Captain of the
guards and pledged himself. Then fought for two hours with the quill
trying to get a message togeather telling the members of the Tribunals
that they could count on his aid should they need it.

Background

The mountain rumbles. There is a giant bang and the sky is first dakened
by all the ash and then the lower parts of the ash cloud is turned red
when the lava starts getting spewned around. The war between the hot lava
with in and the cold mountain outside is an on going battle.

Benith the open crator. In one of the tunnels a fire giant is in labour.
As the volcano explodes, the final push is made and the baby is bourn.
He is big even for a giant. His coal black skin is in sharp contrast to
his tuff of red hair.

Ajeagre quickly learns that the strongest one gets what he wants. And
when he doesn't he kills the ones that oppose. At the age of 20 he has
already killed two clan members and is progressing well with in the
fighting accadamy. At the age of 100 he desides to leave the volcano and
see what Thera can bring him. He has a note from his trainer and is let
into the guild of Warriors in Hamsah.
