Cagubrak Adakudan the Master of Weapons, Voice of the Scarab

Description

This robust monolith stands at about twelve feet tall with a crisp posture.
Two crossed swords are sheathed behind his back for quick retrieval and axes
hang below them at his hips. His intense musculature bulges in the areas
where his mighty armaments are not covering, looking almost as if he is pure
sinew wrapped in deep onyx skin. It almost looks to be as rough as the
thickest leather and the creases at his joints are a slightly lighter
darkness than the rest.

His face is jagged like an unweathered boulder and certainly not winning any
beauty contests. Fiery red hair falls around his face, looking to be rubbed
together in thick separate cylindrical locks all over. His eyes are pure
yellow and shine almost as if his irises are lit up with candles behind them.
They're surrounded by dense red eyebrows that look like caterpillars and high
cheek bones with a massive jutting nose right below, nostrils flaring heavily
with each breath. His lips are slate grey and smeared across his face with a
mischievous grin. All in all he certainly strikes you for nothing less than a
battle ready warrior, looking close you also notice that...

Chapter 8

The Voice of the Father

His eyes open slowly as the Coprophagous chants dark phrases. Confused at the
realism of his recent dream, he lays there for a moment. The shadows begin to
gather around him as he lays still.
*blink*
His neck begins to bulge around his throat, like tiny little fists trying to
push their way out. Grasping for air, his knuckles begin to turn white upon
his clinched fists. He begins smashing the stone floor of the Temple.
*blink*
Horrible rasping noises begin to shriek from the darkness.
"My lone voice of Truth..."
SHRIEK............RASP...........
*blink*
He gasps for air as his throat settles to it's normal state. A tingling
sensation overwhelms him as he rises to his feet and adorns his religious
robes.
*blink*
"You, are my Voice. I find pleasure in you."
*blink*
The revenants begin to chant and shriek together with all the same thoughts.
"Heee isss like Braerussss."
"The temple is close to the state of need."
"The blind shall seeeeee, or they shall dieeee!"
*blink*
Throwing his arms to his sides in prayer, Cagubrak begins to praise the
Father for his path into Enlightenment and Truth. "Huh-huh! Cagu not expect
this path, wants will of Father at all time. Let Cagu never tarnish name,
always bring Truth. Your Voice... will be Cagu's voice!"
*blink*
Clashing his blades together, the giant runs away from the dark temple,
chants and rasping still echoing into the night sky of Arkham. He sets out to
find the profane, incessantly performing the Will of the Father.

Chapter 7

Self in the Spirit, his Dream

Tossing and turning in restless sleep, revenants of the past Scarabite's
surround a hulking fire giant, swaying and praising the Father of Devils for
this blessed destroyer of the profane. Snarling in his sleep, your vision
sinks deeper into his mind.
*blink*
He struggles desperately in the immense void of pure darkness. His eyes
reflect the same darkness he is bonded to, just dark orbs, unable to see.
Each limb is bound by different materials, obviously shining blatent
symbolism. His right arm is wrapped in a chain of stone angels interlinked
together, shooting out into the darkness, you cannot discern the source. His
left is bound in the same way by alternating whips and blindfolds knotted
tightly with no slack to give. Grunting, he struggles against them. His feet
look to be imbedded into a melted conglomerate of coins and idols, obviously
tools of sacrifice to foolish God's and Emperors.
*blink*
Unable to withstand the forced bondage, his muscles surge with unholy lust to
be free. He snarls and embraces the defiling flames within his soul until he
bursts into them on the outside as well.
*blink*
The metals at his feet scorch rapidly, almost evaporating before they have a
chance to melt. Kicking wildly, the giant bounces within the void against his
chains. The stone chain of angels snaps into a thousand pieces, trying to
emanate light as a last fight but it is swallowed by the darkness. He growls
and swings his right hand to the whips and blindfolds, ripping it away from
the source, wherever it was.
*blink*
The darkness upon his eyes cracks and flakes away until the burning yellow
irises underneath begin to shine.
*blink*
Floating freely, still embracing the defiling flames of blue and orange, he
roars into the void with his arms extended and starts to praise his Lord.

Chapter 6

Eyes of the Storm

Cagubrak can be heard screaming on the Eastern Road. "Nanik!? Where is!? Cagu
need you eyes for Copro! Him out of!". Laughing to himself, he continues
searching as he talks to himself, "Huh-huh! Him say bane of Cagu? Is
strongest giant? We see!"

Slipping into fellowship with the Ugruks, the giant is spotted, and just as
quickly, Cagubrak stands over his body yelling random portions of the Sacraa
he has learned. Ducking down, he only plucks out one eye before running off
to hunt more.
*blink*
Nanik angrily yells for Cagubrak to battle, wanting vindication. Cagubrak
gets excited as he yells back, "Yuh! See!? Cagu helping Nanik, get's so angry
Nanik finally showing, Nanik *wants* be angry! Maranmen say is wrong! Let go,
be angry!"
*blink*
Cagubrak shakes his head over the freshly punctured corpse of Nanik once
more. Cagubrak says to the corpse, "As long as practice profane, Cagu been
sent here to destroy by Father of Devil. Severs from life like Thraxil!"

Chuckling with a sense of accomplishment, he rips the other eye from Nanik
hoping it will make him see like his Lord. Nodding to himself, he clutches
his blades and runs off.
*blink*
Cagubrak yells "Copro! Copro!"

Running up to the Lich with a smirk on his face, he hands him two eyes of the
storm giant.

"Cagu said would resupply, Huh-Huh!"

Chapter 5

Reflections

Cagubrak sits underneath an apple tree basking in the setting suns last rays.
Raising a fist he hits the tree once more as a few more apples fall into his
mouth. Looking over his body, the rippling muscles that have been forming
from good food are very apparent. "Yuh! Cagu knew them priest trying to
starve cause knew how strong would get!" he mutters.

Thinking back on the Adakudan convent, he pauses. Scowling harshly he finds
himself upset in his current place in life. "Lord Scarabaeus, bless Cagu,
lead more Truth. But, Cagu only end priest life three time? Is unaccept."

Standing up, he rubs some dirt on his hands and looks out over the horizon as
nightfall comes. It's almost as if you can hear his thoughts as his gaze
seems to retract into his soul for a moment.

"The Destructive shall seek the profane,
Seek out the weak of spirit,
Seek out the weak of mind.
These shall be cut
From the body of mankind,
Lest their taint spread like cancer,
And defile the Pure.
Destroy they shall, in the fulfillment
Of their own Will, but not
By the will of others,
Lest they too fall prey
To the fog of illusion."

Remember so clear, Voice say. Cagu not seeking enough. Cagu need seek more,
or Therablood continue produce blind. Need keep understanding ways of Lord,
need more enlighten, Cagu.. just need more.

Clutching his swords until his knuckles almost turn white. He sheds his
disappointment and turns it into more enlightenment. "Cagu keep eyes clear,
not lose self. Not fight in Thera because disappoint, not fight because
angry, not fight because revenge or fear. Fights because Lord worthy of
reflection in Cagu and Truth Sacraa bring! Fights because CAGU want fight!"

Nodding to himself as if he has thought of the most intelligent things his
mind has ever conjured, he runs into the darkness, yelling about something
involving storm giants and the lack of their eyes in a Liches pouch.

Chapter 4

Overview

* Overview *

-Cagubrak is as dumb as a jolted iceneedled kobold, and sometimes doesn't
even realize he's being led into traps or foolish situations. He does trust
in his training though, and his emotions and purpose strengthen it just as
much as his brawn.

-Somehow through all that pain and torture, his spirit was strengthened
rather than broken. He is thankful for his new life, and tends to be quite
humorous at times.

-His greatest purpose above all things is to slay every priest that does not
bow their knee to the Father of Devils. For no religion remotely synchronizes
with the Truth of the Father, and they must be cut away from their faith
until they see that blackness around their own eyes.

-He gets overly excited about nice foods. Years of eating vomit, rats, and
insects have led him to treating himself to "kingfeast" when he performs
worthy events.

-Slavery, be it by outright force or by fear through politics, is to be dealt
with. His time in the convent has driven him to desire the loosed chains of
every soul, for it is only then a man can decide to be free or blinded.

-He always finds random minstrels and willing heralds to transcript copies of
the Sacraa for him. Slowly he is memorizing it, and wanting it's truth to
spread.

-He has taken the last name of Adakudan to provide identity to his life. He
wants to know that the foolish God that drives him is behind him, right
after... Cagubrak.

It is time for life to truly begin.

Chapter 3

Truth, Teachings, and Tenacity

Time passes, a man and woman named Habib and Keiiah get Cagubrak on his feet
with some work. He spends all of the coin on food, reveling in the different
tastes and tenderness of all the meats. The warrior guildmaster got ahold of
him early, "You needs a me to train you Cagubrak, I has been... training...
young one like you for long time. You has tha potential, and I has the key.
Now ahhhh, letsa just get some meat onna them bones, right?"

A priest named Throm runs the city streets... but there is something special
about this one, what is it?

"The Father who was forever damned with the vision of sight now guides us in
truth! The pure shall seek truth, unblinded by illusions or lies! They shall
defy the profane who seek to quell the needs and desires of all men! The
destructive shall seek out the profane! They shall be cut away from Thera
before their cancer spreads! They enslave the world!"

"He speak about Adakudan shaman! There more out there!? Cagu feel drawing to
this... Father. There truth in this, Father sound like real God. Cagu pledge
allegiance, listen to lie all life, knows Truth inside Throm."

Cagubrak sits in the Lyceum as a Herald shivers, reading him the Sacraa.
"Cagu want copy, can't read, but can hold."

Cagubrak can be seen chasing Kakaru, a hopeful fortressite, around Galadon
before finally breaking his head open.

"Huh-huh, time to cut cancer."

Chapter 2

Freedom and Strength

Years pass by Cagubrak like people in a market. Night after night, he howls
in pain, swiping at rats and insects for nourishment. The shaman guards give
him just enough food to make him feel satisfied before they famish him and
make him vomit and be forced to eat it again.

"Bow to Lord Adakudan! He is your only hope!" they cry, every night. But
Cagubrak is unshaken. He begins to learn how to phase the diseases and
poisons away, he slowly realizes... this is not where he is called, it is not
truth, and he is not a slave. He didn't know what else was beyond that cell
window, but he knew there was moonlight, open space, and freedom to do what
he wanted. That was enough for him...

He acts overly weak by todays plague and famishing, wobbling with his head
bowed, he takes his routine escort to the Adakudan Altar.

Hours of prayer pass, everyone cries out with their eyes closed. No one dares
defy the plaguebringers and prayerwarriors.

Cagubrak musters every bit of strength he can find within his soul and runs
for the massive double doors.
*blink*
He is removing splinters from his face as he is stumbling through the Oryx
Steppes, shamans chasing him with fear he had never seen in them before.
*blink*
He is face down in the Araile, realizing his life is on the hinge of death,
he crawls.. not knowing where, just fighting.
*blink*
Water touches his lips, and a human speaks. He can't make out any words other
than... Ham-sah.

Chapter 1

The Convent

Thunder crashes in bellows through the sky as the rain picks up and starts
pouring through the bars of Cagubrak's cell. He can barely see the lightning
that previously streaked before it, the film of his inflicted blindness still
healing. Clutching his burning, famished stomach he hunches over and dry
heaves once again. Clenching his large fists with anger he falls over from
the pain, only to pass out yet another night in this forsaken place.

The Adakudan Convent of the Oryx Steppes. Cagubrak doesn't remember coming
here, where he came from, or what the outside world looks like besides the
view from behind his bars.

He does remember the tormet of the religious zealots... vividly. His drive,
his being, his... purpose evolves from them...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His first memory...
*blink*
"Time for prayer giant", as the cell door opens. Plague erupts through him
and poison scalds his veins, he feels his strength leave him as the shamans
guide him to the altar.
*blink*
"You foolish giant, keep your shoulders down, and hold your hands like this
when you pray!... Lord Adakudan will never stop the torment until you realize
how much you need him to even breathe!"
*blink*
"All praise to Lord Adakudan! May our pain and afflictions bring us to
eternal servitude! May he let us live and one day grace us with his
presence!"
*blink*
"You are never going to be strong giant! You are to pray! You are hereby
banished from food, you will eat the rats in your cell if you wish to praise
Lord Adakudan!", the shaman narrows his eyes at Cagubrak and afflicts him
with famishes once again.
*blink*
"Ugh, Cagu.. Cagu not want give in. Feel like not will make it...."
