Description

A young male standing at about six feet in height. His dark skin and slightly
pointed ears mark him of half-drow descent. Long silvery-white hair is pulled
back in a pony tail by a leather cord. Dull-red eyes seem at odds with his
thin silvery-white eyebrows. He looks very much the part of a drow, but has a
much stouter build than the dark race of elves. His face is clean shaven, his
gear well-kept, and he moves with confidence wasting little energy. Various
pouches hang about his person, a few seeming to have herbs stuffed within and
he carries many tools one might find useful in the wilds.

Parents and Background

Orinth is still young to have experienced so much tragedy. Both loving
parents dead in only a weeks time. His father of old age, and his mother
murdered by her own kind.

Darik and Orelia met in an odd way. He was a hunter living a bit north of
Voralia along the river's banks. She was a scout for the dark-elven hoards. A
skirmish had taken place between Voralia's soldiers and the dark-elves. Darik
found her wounded amongst many dead, and took her in to help her heal. For
months he took care of her, despite her protests. Eventually his kindness
ebbed at her inherently cruel nature and she began having feelings for him.
After she recovered, instead of leaving they decided to make a life together.
Knowing the life would be dangerous in both worlds, they lived in hiding just
below the surface.

Orinth's childhood was an odd one, but it was good. His father taught him
strong morals and how to hunt with the bow. His mother taught him the ways of
the caves and how to fight within them. Small dark-elven scouting parties
were not uncommon in the area though, and often times the two had to fight to
protect Orinth.

Eventually his father began to grow old. Orelia grew quite distraught with
the pain of watching her beloved age. Darik grew sick and was forced to stay
on his back in bed until he finally died. The next time scouts happened upon
the stone hut, Orelia could not fight them off alone. Orinth was forced to
hide nearby and watched as his mother was brutally raped and murdered by the
dark-elves. In shock, he made his way to the surface and fled.

Having seen and felt the pain that love can cause Orinth is very cautious of
becoming close to others and he is very aloof. He carries the high morals of
his father and will help others in need, but feels the burning desire to
destroy those of dark heart. Especially the dark-elves, for what they did to
his mother. This being his primary goal.

An Immortal added 1000 exp for: Somewhat short but well-taken background story of his d-elf mother and human father, and their unlikely and doomed love, which is used to explain Orinth's reitcence for close relationships and hatred of the drow.
