Description

A hulking giant stands before you covered with black hair covering his
ebony hewed flesh. Out of his head grow two massive black horns, each coming
a sharp point. His suit of missmatched armor is covered all about it in dried
blood. About his body hang various weapons each in good repair and well
sharpened. His blood red eyes glare about with malice as he surveys all
around him as a mist bellows out of his bovine nostrils. About his neck
on a chain forged of dwarvish mithril are the runes and emblems of
the legendary dwarves known as "The Sapper Brigade".

Chapter 5

The Rites and a Sapper.

Blarg awakens to the call of Lord Thror, challenging all the warriors to
Thera to bond together in A Rites like never before, one that includes all of
Thera's greatest warriors not just those of the village. Blarg answers the
call, fighting fiercely and gaining momentum as the Rites go on. As he fights
each round he starts to learn the strategies and tactics of the other
combatants involved and begins to devise ways to counter them. He manages to
fight his way into the final three with a brutal display of cunning and force
in the final round. With his fights in the arena he faces his own Commander,
and while not defeating him because of a few errors, which in the arena only
cost a victory, in war would cost him and potentially those around him his
life, he defeats his greatest enemy, the dwarf from the Island. In these
rites Blarg learns and grows as a warrior, has weaknesses exposed and finds
ways to overcome them and turn them into advantages. He finds that they have
put him between the hammer and the anvil, and forged him into a stronger
warrior. Blarg is Visited by a legend of his own kind, who has been honored
and trained as a Sapper himself and takes Blarg under his horns, teaching him
the ways of the Sapper and training him to become one as well. Through this
Blarg has learned much, and has come out with a new respect and belief
in the teachings of the Lord Hammersong. Blarg has decided that the time has
come for him to seek out Lord Hammersong, and seek out his training, to
become a Smith, and to better shape the world to come, to put them through
trials as his life has been, to shape them better for the future.

Chapter 4

War Is Not Just Blood

After recieving a bounty for a sum of gold which had never thought possible
combined with many gold from killing dragons for thier treasure, Blarg
realizes it is more than he could ever need in his simple life of a villager.
Blarg begins to formulate a plan. Blarg has seen Thrym running his warrior
school, teaching young men and women of any background to live thier lives
free of the magic, and also teaching them how to use thier natural abilities
to work to eliminate the threat of it from Thera. Blarg decides that the
padded armor and low quality practice weapons they use could use an upgrade,
that warriors as important as this should have the best supplies possible.
Blarg decides to become a silent benefactor of the academy, and gather what
he can to donate it to thier cause. He has spoken with Lord Hammersong and
the Lord has worked out an agreement with the Noldarian smiths to provive the
best weapons possible with the coins that Blarg has provided. Blarg
understands that by aiding in training others to work at his side, he can
Multiply the size of the force fighting this righteous cause, and that by
doing so he will be ensuring that the fight continues even after his death.

Chapter 3

War Begins

In his travels Blarg has heard of a society of warriors with beliefs very
similar to his own, those known simply as the Battle Ragers. With a
rudimentary knowledge of how to use his axes, Blarg tells the smith Tahren of
how he slew his overseer and is allowed to seek out the Commander for a hut
in the village, where he may train to better fight for the freedom of his
world, to ensure that others do not have to live through what he has. Blarg
is quickly brought into the village to begin his training and his strength
makes him a natural with the axes he has come to love. As he continues his
studies Blarg is also trained to use long bladed weapons known as swords
which he also becomes a natural with, not as a fencer, but with the sheer
brutality afforded him by his size.

Blarg's natural position within the village is clear and obvious, with all of
the anger he has within him from what he has lived through and observed
others living through, Blarg is trained as a berserker within the village, he
is taught to channel his anger into his strikes with his weapons so that
sometimes when he swings, he can feel the anger and pain of all of those he
has seen, and channel thier strength through him, striking his foes with
amazing force, at time churning such a frenzy that he desires nothing more
than to see the sprays of blood flying in all directions from whoever may be
near him, until he exausts all his strength to look about him and see the
destruction that has been wraught.

With the monks of the Macalla Blarg learns of two things, both of which are
quickly learned because of his his anger and belief in what he does is right.
Blarg learns to fight harder and harder as a situation becomes more and more
desperate, knowing that he may just be the last line of defense for some poor
child about to be places into the shackles of the slaving magi, and he learns
that as he shouts at his foes, letting them know that he will not relent he
strikes fear into thier very souls inspiring himself with this knowledge.
Yes, war has begun.

Chapter 2

Freedom

Blarg wanders off into the wilderness, looking to hide himself from attempts
to find him and after a week of travel away from the area finds a band of
lumberjacks in the woods, they marvel at the size and strength of Blarg and
quickly put him to work felling trees, Blarg quickly becomes comfortable with
the heft and feel of an axe in his hand as many of his kind have in the past,
as in the woods a minotaur is judged by thier strength and work, and not
thier appearance. After earning enough coins from the meager pay his foreman
gives him, Blarg decides it is time he sees more of the world than just the
woods and fields he has known all of his life. Blarg lumbers into Seantryn
Modan and purchases some basic supplies for his journies, as well as a pair
of plain, though very servicable battle axes to protect himself.

During his adventures Blarg becomes more and more livid as he sees slavery
and the attempts at it throughout the world he now journeys throughout. He
sees it in the wastes to the south as the dark magi Brensen and Graghok war
with the felar, trying to bring them back into the bondage of thier history.
He sees it in Udguard as Loke attempts to place the proud cloud giants into
captivity, all for his own purposes. As he sees more and more of such
wickedness Blarg comes to learn that in almost every instance has something
in common, the person behind it is a Magi. Blarg comes to believe that the
use of magic is unsafe and has no place in the world. It is meant for the
gods and is too powerfull and uncontrollable in mortal hands. Magic while
maybe even initially used for good purposes will eventually overpower and
corrupt the minds of it's users, changing them into tyrants as they lust for
more and more power. The worst of those being the ones that will not give up
thier power even when thier slaves die, the necromancer and the anti-paladins
who will entrap the very soul. Blarg decides it is time for this to end and
there is only one way to end it...

Chapter 1

Beast of Burden

Blarg as most minotaurs was thrust into the world without strong family ties
to fend for himself, as most male minotaurs have little care for thier
offspring, and little time for them even if they did. Blarg was quickly
captured by a band of rogues by south of seantryn and sold into slavery in
the fields of Hardan woods south of Seantryn Modan.

Blarg finds himself treated no differently than a beast of burden by his
owner, a wealthy transmuter who runs a grain bussiness supplying grain for
the production of spirits in Seantryn Modan's breweries and distilleries.
Constantly pulling a plow through the fields for most of his young life he
becomes very strong. As he toils in the fields for his captors he constantly
finds himself hating more and more his captors for the life that has been
thrust upon him.

One day out working the fields with under an overseer's watchfull eye Blarg
decides it is time to execute a half thought out plan to try to escape his
captivity and make a life for himself. Blarg forces himself to collapse upon
the ground and appears to be unconscious from exhaustion. His overseer
notices quickly and snaps his whip across Blarg's hide repeatedly to rouse
him and get him back to work, Blarg steels himself and endures the pain of
the lashes without flinching even as blood pours down his back. The overseer
bends down to check if the beast is still alive and Blarg quickly springs to
action when he feels the breath of the slavemaster upon his shoulder, jerking
his head at the overseer impaling him upon his two sharp horns, quickly
giving them a shake to insure the overseer does not recover. Blarg reaches
down from the corpse and uses the keys to free himself from his bonds. Blarg
is free.
