Ckath Eaglewing the Scourge of the Arena, Anathema to the Empire

Description

Tall and muscled even for an arial, he resembles an eagle. White and
golden-brown feathers are intertwined in an intricate pattern barely visible
for all the cakes of dried blood. The only variances to this are a patch of
bright yellow on his forehead that looks vaguely like a crown, on each side
of the patch two demonic looking horns protrude giving. His large thick beak
is distorted and skewed, however powerful enough to tear into flesh as the
dried blood that colors it red. Two tiny beady eyes peer out intently from
within the feathery face, glowing with a deep shade of red. From each eye a
crimson streak can be seen. Huge wings move with slow powerful strokes to
keep him airborne. That interesting feather pattern and the speed of his
wings create the feeling of great power, however odd bulges seems to be
moving beneath his skin, as if they were to burst open at any time. He covers
his armor and a pair of blades in a well kept cloak of fine material. Long
and agile fingers do a spiders dance over the pommels of his sheathed blades.

Chapter 11

Throwing the veil?

Once again bubbles left the demonic birds beak as it hissed at the human
swimming towards it. The human swam closer and stopped before him, bowing his
head slightly, almost a nod, but enough to show respect.

"Yes?" The demon glared icily at the human, obviously annoyed with his
presence.

The human swims a bit closer and points at a ruby scarab tattooed into his
flesh. "That is why I have come."

The demons beak contorts into what might be a wry smile as he says "The
father of Devils, I have heard rumours about that one."

The human picks up pace as he begin to talk again "What better place for you
to find home, demonic horns" a sign of strength and power. A good home you
would find among the coven."


The mage presented himself as Isarbin, initiate of the ruby scarab. For a
long time he spoke, making Ckath more and more aware of the truth that he
indeed had found, the life he already had been living ever since he removed
himself from the throne, although he would have been removed anyways Ckath
liked to think of it as his own choice.
He had indeed been living a lie, fooling himself to following desires not his
own, hunting out of habit and not free will. And in a sense he already were
allied with the Father of Devils, theres a reason to why Dispater serves
under the prince of darkness, and the prince then must be serving under the
Father of Devils.

Ckath remembered reading words somewhere in an obscure place, quickly he
moved to the area after the meeting had ended, truly his memory still served
him well. He had found the shrine, or perhaps what once were a shrine. Once
there he quickly penned a missive to the Father, perhaps this meeting would
take place soon? No matter of the outcome, it would be interesting for
certain, and all chances to strengthen his body or sustain his life are worth
taking...

Chapter 2

Ooh brothers, where art thee?

Suddenly Ckath screams in pain as the gods wrath strikes him, around him he
can here his brothers screams and for a brief moment he thinks that maybe his
plans are spoiled, but so are all of theirs and he almost gives up with that
thought when he realizes that he is still not a legend, he is still not
famous at all! So, with his last efforts he throws himself up in the air
towards a cliff a bit higher up and somehow succeeds to grab the only loose
rock on the entire mountainside, and starts sliding down. Muttering about his
misfortune and the rapidly increasing risk of death he doesnt notice that
above him a lighting bolt splits the rock above him, and a dwarf charging
straight into the rock wall, breaking his thunderlance in half.

A few moments, or perhaps a few days later he wakes up in a miserable state
of excruciating pain. He struggles back up the mountain, unable to use his
broken wings for now. He manages to get to the city healer who doesnt
recognize him but do heal his wings. After that he heads straight for the
palace, interested in who is alive and what has happened to his brothers.

As he approaches the palace he gets a feeling that something isnt entirely
right. The usually so very male and masculine guards doesnt look that
masculine anymore, they actually look quite pretty. Shaking his head thinking
he must have knocked a screw lose he takes a step forward only to notice that
a head he used to know quite well is sitting on a pole beside the road, as he
takes a few more steps he realizes that he just walked passed his fathers
head, looking up ahead he see the gates open and his stepmother and mistress
walking towards him with a evil grin on her face.

THAT is when it hits him He has been duped Again he almost gives up, but he
realizes that if he gets captures now and dies Then his chances of fame are
gone I must get back up again he screams as he throws himself down beside
the road, through the clouds, straight towards the ground far below.

Chapter 3

Goals and whatnot

Ckath doesnt require perfection, but it is something that can be used for
his goals, to somehow become the most famous legend of all times. One of his
plans of doing so is the empire, by joining it, advancing in it, ruling it
and of course expanding it to cover all of Thera. If this somehow fails,
Ckath will look at other options to become famous, Scion might also be highly
interesting to Ckath if introduced to him properly.

Ckath hates dwarves, females and especially arial females who remind him of
his step-mother. He will do anything that will either further his goals, or
make him famous. But it is the big deeds that really matters since they will
bring most of the fame. His choice of becoming a warrior is since it is a
craft everyone respects in some way, and it will prove as a good self-defence
from others wanting to end his legend and take his power.
As soon as he in any way hears or reads about Lord Kastellyn he will seek him
out, to become one of his legends.

Chapter 4

Females...

Grovelling in the mud wasnt really Ckaths cup of tea. But being the
twenty-sixth son of a royal family, and alive, does merit him quite the
talent in acting. And grovelling before the high priestess certainly leaves a
bitter taste in his mouth. But he figures that in order to become the next
Emperor, he must push himself to the limits with every talent that he might
have. Once in position, the high priestess certainly will regret being born
female, that is for certain, no female will ever be given the chance to
betray him again!

And then theres the other female, Lamayinn the provincial. That one
certainly is a fool. It seems as if he has managed to twist her mind into
actually liking him. At least she is flirting. If he manages to build up her
trust, or perhaps even gain her affection, he could betray her to get her
unholy weapon to bargain with for the future dreadlord, putting him in a
perfect position to take the Throne.

All this groveling and watching his back has made Ckath somewhat paranoid
and cynical, and if his plans dont pay off with time, he might lose his
patience and seek fame elsewhere. As he believes himself to have the courage
to do whatever it takes to reach the legends.

Chapter 5

Twarted plans, and they say patience is a virtue...

A shower of silvery sparkles flies off the wall as the dark blade hits the
magically enhanced stone wall. At the same time a strong gust of wind blows
out the candles and brings the long silk curtains to life. The large avian
creature sheaths his blades while a low mumbling of curses can be heard under
his breath.

He folds his wings and begins walking in the same fluid motion straight over
to the tied up woman laying on the bed spread eagle, and slaps her with the
backside of his armor-clad gauntlet, spraying her blood all over the wall
above the bed. Something small but hard hits the floor, as the woman opens
her mouth again a tooth is missing.

AM I NOT WORTHY?

The avian creature is standing with his beak only inches from the sobbing
womans face. His beady eyes are black holes of hatred as he stares at the
woman as if expecting an answer.
A deep sigh escapes the beak and the avian moves away from the woman, over
the window while adjusting his armors.

That should have been me The fame, the glory


The naming of Adarmar as Warmaster is straining Ckaths patience. He cannot
tolerate that someone took what he believed to be rightfully his, this was
his fast track towards the legends. His chance of fame and glory. Now, he
would be forced to wait again. Wait, plot and bribe All over again.

Because of this Ckath will get more and more impatient, taking bigger and
bigger risks until he either succeeds or is made Anathema. If made anathema
Ckath will turn against the Empire and do anything to seek his path towards
the legends elsewhere.

He also despises himself for grovelling in the mud for the high priestess, if
he is forced to continue this when and if he is made warmaster, he might lash
out at her. Possibly attempt to kill her prior to being made anathema.

(Once Ckath reaches middle-aged he will start making his path towards
Anathema unless he has found some success.)

Chapter 6

The celebration

A gift for you warmaster.

The old nobly dressed woman kneeling in front of Ckath held up a delicately
thin female hand towards him. Ckath let his black beady eyes follow the arm
up, starting through the filmy veil covering the beautiful face of this
human. Waving his left hand in a dismissive manner towards the old woman she
beckoned to the young girl to stand up.

Drop that veil girl and follow me.

The two centurions let the woman move past, her dark brown eyes filled with a
dark hunger as she looked at the broad shoulders of the warmaster moving a
head of her. Finally she had gotten into the palace, the well covered dagger
hidden between her ties would put his life to an end once she had gotten him
out of that heavy armor...

As they moved through the halls of the palace the warmaster motioned for her
to with a chivalry bow to step inside his grand suite. As she heard the door
close behind her she suddenly felt herself lift from the ground while the
nearest bedpost moved in at her with great speed and before she knew it
everything went black...

So... Perhaps not what I had expected but then again, my little fetish seems to
have its advantages... A good thing I keep it a secret as well.

As she heard the words she opened her eyes just to see the end of a thin whip
moving in on her, slashing her straight over her now exposed breasts. She
tried to scream but only muffled sounds came past the silk cloth strapped
over her mouth. The whipping continued for a little while until she had
almost passed out, then the naked war master walked over to her, exposing his
scared body to her before he removed the cloth. She was far to tired to
scream, and she doubted that it would help, deep within the palace surrounded
by enemies.
The war master pressed a small speckled pill into her mouth, forcing her to
swallow and she could feel herself regain a little of her strength, just
enough to be able to stay awake

Now... That was my fun, not its time for your bit of fun.

As he spoke the last words he jumped up on the bed, strapped on the silk
cloth and lowered himself towards her... The muffled screams didnt stop for
days... And neither did Ckaths celebrations of his recent success.


The recent success has boosted Ckaths ego and courage. However he still
seeks the position as Emperor but he knows that he must first prove himself
to the rest of the council. And with the position of Shadow Lord vacant Ckath
sees the opportunity to recruit a Shadow Lord that will fit with his plans.

The only thing that bothers Ckath is his failures in obtaining the lord of
Legends attention. Ckath is not a very religious man but he suspects that he
might be forced to tend a bit more to the shrine and send a few more prayers...


The time for betraying the Provost nears, now he must first engineer a
perfect situation to where he can abuse her in every way that he wants...

Chapter 7

A deal with the devil

As the black fluid splattered on the darkened platemail a hissing sound could
be heard, as if the blood of the demons actually would erode the sturdy
armor. The air was filled with the terrifying screams of dying demons and in
the mist of the carnage a small group of people were standing. Two avians in
similar armors were forming a barrier between the demons and the three others
wearing regular robes and leatherarmors, powerful magic flowing from the
little gnome as he weaved spell after spell, dark energies were flowing from
the drow as some dark deity channelled their powers through her and a drunk
halfblood, obviously drunk singing great songs about battles, inspiring the
two warriors who were just dim figures in a flurry of movements.

Ckath launched a sequence of attacks on a large bony creature who fell into a
heap on the ground.

Thats the last of them.

Panting heavily the other avian sheated his daggers while the drow used her
powers to heal his wounds.

Dispator yells 'My houndsss, my devilsss, you have beaten them back.
Impresssive.'

The by now familiar voice of the Dispator echoes through the now empty
streets, and the five starts moving through them, searching for the
archdevils lair. Forcing their way through door after door they find
something that looks different than the rest.

This doesnt look safe at all, Ill head in. Wait for my word.

Ckath kicks down the door and throws himself threw it his swords already
moving through the air ready to strike whomever might oppose him, just to
meet with... Air.

Twirling around he finds himself trapped among untouchable creatures, pulling
at the very essence of himself. Quickly he gives words to his companions that
hes trapped, but already a plan starts to form in his head when suddenly the
little gnome stumbles in past the shades. Now they were two.

What can only be interpreted as a wide grin twists Ckaths beak as his beady
eyes peer at the little gnome.

You wanted corpses and carcasses? Here you have one!

And as he yells his swords quickly swing through and before the gnome knows
it, his head rolls on the ground.
Everything is quiet for a moment before a soft crackle is heard from the
shadows...

Ckath can feel it, the powerful archdevil is near, and Ckath will do anything
to gain his favour and some of his powers, anything to gain power and fame.
Leaving the inferno without his soul is a small prize to pay...

Chapter 8

Man or demon?

Nnage glanced through the bushes towards the macabre scene displayed before
him. A horned creature resembling an arial were standing hunched over the
lifeless bodies of two elves, tearing at them with his taloned hands showing
the gore and blood into its bloodied beak while his powerful wings keeps it
hovering over the ground.
Nnage had witnessed the battle, he had been certain that the two elves would
make a quick corpse of this demon-like creature but the fury it had unleashed
had been breath taking, cold iron swords only became a blur as they had
seared the skin of the elves. He could still hear the sound as the iron had
burned them and their screams as the thing had severed their limbs one by one
after subduing them. Now he knew who he had seen in action, the legend of
Ckath was pale compared to the reality. The imperial warmaster was indeed a
feathered demon of war.

Ckaths hatred towards females has increased to the point where he can barely
be around them. From time to time he forces himself to make use of them but
it will always end up with him betraying their trust before they get a chance
to betray his. If another female were to be elected into the council, Ckaths
chances of becoming emperor would diminish greatly as he most likely couldnt
keep his hatred to himself.

As for the throne, Ckath still bides his time. As soon as another council
member is elected he will set his plans to action to take the throne from
Adarmar. He has however contemplated to find a potion that accelerates ones
age with incredible speed and somehow lure Adarmar to drink it. Either that
or get him to wear some of the powerful magical artifacts in Thera that
increases ones age. But the risks of trying that would be too great.

However, Ckath might have learned some patience over the years, but he is
still an impatient man (If one can still call him a man.) and if things
doesnt go where he wants them, he will eventually betray the empire if he
sees a better path to make his name immortal.

The changes to his body were at first terrifying to Ckath, he has however
slowly learned to live with it and come to embrace it as a powerful weapon to
use, fear. He actually looks forward to see if his body will transform even
more as he moves closer to the goals he has set up with Dispater.

Recently a female bard approached him, asking him to let her write his
biography. A bold move for a female to do, especially one that knows how much
he hates her, and someone that has already taken her life once before.
Appealing to Ckaths thirst for fame she was successful in convincing him to
share his secrets and life story.

Chapter 9

Emperor

The forever bleeding eyes glowed with a red light as the demonic bird flicked
the whip upon the naked woman. The loud screams almost drowns the cackling
sound coming from the demonic creature.

FINALLY! THE THRONE OF THERA IS MINE!

The creature didnt even notice the servants who replaced the now quiet and
lifeless body with a new fresh woman, kicking and screaming Ckath the Demon
Emperor continued his celebrations long into the night

Ckath has finally succeeded with his plots and become the Emperor of Thera.
He realizes that his title only holds limited power outside of the Imperial
ranks, but he intends to change that as his ego has increased to tremendous
heights. To make his name immortal as even more than just a fearsome murderer
he wants to rebuild the ruins of the Empire. Bring in merchants to get more
citizens to move into the lands.

To get aid with this he has allied the Empire with the heir of Seantryn
Modan, Charlee. A thief of the Eternal Star who provides an endless supply of
gold and powerful artefacts. Hopefully with all this gold in the coffers the
empire can soon put more gold into rebuilding the ruins as not all of it will
go to the war effort.

The new council members have all sworn their souls to Dispater and Ckath in
an attempt to keep them from revolting. This also binds them closer to him
and strengthens his powers as well as Dispater. He has instructed them to
never let any females rise above the status of a basic sect member. When the
empire has enough strong males all those females will be demoted to
bloodoaths and kept as breeding slaves.

He also seeks to learn more about his demonic nature and perhaps manage to
transform entirely into a demon.

Chapter 10

Preparing for a journey

A few bubbles left the demonic looking birds beak as it hissed at the elf
swimming towards him. The elves calmly looked at the demon with his blazing
eyes.
Why have you summoned me here demon? With all this secrecy?
The creature opened his beak and began to talk, as it talked the elves eyes
widened and after a while he shut his dropped jaw with what would have been a
sounding clasp if they hadnt been beneath water.

Ckath is very pleased with himself, he has forged the possibility to lure a
party of Marans, Squires and possibly even acolytes and scribes to venture to
Dispater with him and his army. He managed to convince the elven Marshall
that some obscure artefact that would destroy the world resided deep within
the inferno, thus forcing them all to cooperate to reach it before the
Scions. Soon he will serve the greatest gift ever on a silver platter to
Dispater, surely this must force the demon to remember the deal and promises.
Promises of great power, the true names of the devils. Perhaps he might even
grant him free passage to meet with the Prince of Darkness himself should
this succeed. Because as Ckath grows older, he is not satisfied with only
being remembered as a legend, a great emperor and a restorer of the Empire.
He wants his soul to forever be one of the tormenters in the inferno, an
everlasting shadow of his former mortal self, one of the demons in the
depths.

The years have also made Ckath somewhat more cautious when it comes to
trusting others as well as charging into battles. He now usually takes a
second or two to plan even further ahead than just the mere battle affront,
he wishes his legend to grow, rumours of his perceived immortality to spread
and fear of him and his Empire to grow in Thera.

Chapter 1

The forgotten one.

Being the twenty-sixth son in the royal family just isnt a good place to be.
Well, it can be if your only ambition is to live. Unfortunately for Ckath
this wasnt the case. His goal was to take over the rule of arial city after
his father, and from that conquer the world. Of course, these things would
just be means to accomplish his real goal To become world famous, forever!
His name etched in stone for building a great empire. Though he knew that the
road was long, lots of brothers to pluck before hed be the heir.

So, he started out by seducing his fathers new queen, his stepmother, witch
wasnt that hard considering her being the proud carrier of a peanut sized
brain. Through her he managed to secretly get the guard captain to teach him
in the use of swords, Ckath realized that this wasnt just about manoeuvring
through the thick politics of the court, but also by actually performing
dangerous tasks, such as cutting your little brothers head of in his sleep
and framing your older brother for it, hopefully getting a third brother
involved and it ending up with all three of the dying somehow.

Things were going great for Ckath, in the matter of months after executing
his plans he had already managed to double his chances to become the next
hair, never before had the royal family been so unlucky, losing thirteen sons
in a few months. Ckath was still working in the dark, not even the slightest
suspicion drawn upon him, but this somehow was unsettling for Ckath. This was
beautiful work, and there was none to witness it. All those things and he was
still just the youngest son in the family, a nobody.

So, he started scheming again. Working out a new plan, something much quicker
and less tedious. A plan that if successful would make him legendary, not
only for being emperor and possible world conqueror, but for being the most
cunning mass-murderer ever, and untouchable in lack of actual proof. He knew
that his brothers and his father werent that good with weapons, since they
had been far to busy working the court to get ahead. He used his stepmother
to get all of the brothers and the emperor gathered for a hunting trip, witch
they all despised but it was said that an extremely wealthy human would
accompany them and he enjoyed hunting. So in hopes of striking the best deal
with this human they all went for the bait.

Now everything seemed to go according to the plans, and they were stalking
their pray in the mountains when suddenly they hear someone yell Here they
are! Just as she said. The party was obviously surprised to see that someone
was hunting them, but most of all Ckath was surprised. This was not a part of
his plans. Charging up the mountain they see two dwarves and a gnome, all
surrounded by a white aura.
