A childlike grin splits a small weather-browned face, topped by a tussled mop
of blond hair the colour and consistency of wintered plains-grass. Clear blue
eyes blink rapidly, watching everything with intense interest he scans the
surroundings, small green-stained hands fidget with bulging seed pouches tied
around his waist, looking for a spot of earth in need of growth. A small
wooden adder slithers by his side tasting the air with a flick of it's
tongue, and a mischievious looking pixie hefting an acorn, peeks from behind
his robes, sizing you up as a possible target.
Choranek's childlike appearance is dispelled by the look of profound wisdom
which is reflected in his eyes, and the rather large red and bulbous nose
which dominates the features of his face.

the druid travelled. Always learning, sometimes painful lessons
and sometimes wonderous. He has found his calling in the
arms of the Maiden, whom he has served faithfully for many
years of his little life.

Choranek takes a deep breath and with as much restraint as he can muster
repeats his request "I..want..you...to stopthe fellingof the trees on the
easternmountain"
"You are mad young druid, where else would we get the lumber to provide
trusses for the mine, or joists for our houses?" Virag retorts.
Youaredestroyingthebalanceoftheland!! Choranek blurts
Thetreesareallthatkeepthesoilfromsliding! his words tumble out.
Ifyouclearallthetreesthenthenexstormwillcausethefaceofthemountaintogiveway
Breathing deep he ennunciates the words THE VILLAGE WILL BE DESTROYED!
Nonsense! How dare you come in and bark at me like a rabid warg! a
pronounced vein throbs in Virags forehead. "You were asked to investigate the
loss of fertility in the fields."
Thefieldsareoverusedyouarekillinsthesoil Choranek waves his small hands in
agitation buttherewillbeNOFIELDS...NO VILLAGE IF YOU FELL THE THOSE TREES!!

The argument continues and finally the guards are called and the young druid
is tossed out the village gates still crying pronouncements of doom. The
trees were felled, and during the next season of rain the village was wiped
out by a rather large mudslide. Some villagers survived, councillor Virag was
not one of them.
When the cold had hardened the earth and the season of growing returned, so
did the young druid, and on his hands and knees for many moonlit nights he
planted seed and saplings, scrub bushes and flowers, that the earth might
again grown and gain it's balance.
