Description

Standing before you is a human of about 6 feet. His read hair pokes out from
underneath a floppy hat. The clothes you see are mostly mismatched but well
cared for, the only thing that appears to be new is a large instrument case
strapped across his shoulder. A slight smile graces his face leading all the
way up to his pale blue eyes. brightly shinned and well worn boots cover this
man's feet, and away from that nothing is noteworthy.

Chapter 13

She will not be forgotten.

Even the the Godess Iunna has left most of us mortal to fend for ourselves I
still walk the path that I set out upon. I still believe that knowledge can
equal power in Warfare. Even more now that I am older and I would hope a bit
wiser. Not all my battle have gone my way and sometimes...most times even I
stay a bit to long thinking one more song, one more attack will finish them
even though sometimes it does not.

I do not intend for the godess of fire to float away into the distant memory
of those that are still around. I will write and epic poem that shows her
might, and will help keep Iunna in the minds and hearts of her followers, and
hopefully being some with us.

Chapter 12

Another day in the life of an Imperial Bard

My life is getting better all the time...

Now that I have earned the right to call myself an Elite Blade of the Empire
things have finally started to go a bit in my direction, I am learning the
Land and my skills more and more every day.

The life that I live has become one of almost constant battle, either with my
mind and words, or with blade and horn. Most of all I believe the Emperor and
Warmaster find me as a true ally. And to the Blades I help govern with
promotions and demotions it appears they look up to me as sort of a mentor.
Soon I believe the rest of Thera will fall into line, if I keep putting on
the good show and spreading darkness and order when and where I can.

Chapter 11

To Hell and Back again, story and poem.

My trip to the Inferno was not planned and I fell upon it by accident. The
Balance Walker Massok asked me if I wished to make the trip and I agreed, I
do love to explore, and knowledge never hurt anyone.Fokzopxowboq as a
hummingbird was there to help taking the blows.Saffi or the Many Teeth as she
liked to call herself was there to help strike down the foes.Bremenal was
there as our guide and with his archons to help take the brunt of the force
from the Front.

Many Days and nights we traveled through the Inferno and many things we saw I
am not sure that I can ever forget. We traveled to the 4th circle and there
ran into some problems in the Jail cells. As member after member of our party
fell. It was only Me, Masok and Many Teeth left as we arrived at the 5th
level we could go no further and that is where our trip ended.

But not before some good learning, exploring and even found a fiddle made of
bone.

A trip to Hell and Back again.
They said find us a Bard and we can begin.

I said sure I will go how bad could it be.
If I had known I would have ran up a tree.

Devils and Devils and Devils some more.
Getting trapped and chased behind a Cell Door.

Many things to be found for the brave and bold.
It also seems Devils don't like to carry gold.

Many things did I see and my Guild Master was pleased.
I am glad no devil got me but was Many Teeth.

The Meter turned flat and decided to go on.
Though it appears the being flat is not safe from harm.

In the end it was a fun and good times.
And to rember I have written this Ryhme.

Chapter 10

A poem to Recruit Citizens

This Poem I decided to write on my own, to help bring in more Citizens
because the Empire can always use a few more before the entire land is coated
in Darkness and Order.

Darnkness and Order is in your very soul
You know no boundaries when reaching your goal
You are ready to learn to do what your told
You know the Empire runs on blood and gold

When Thera comes under threat
What are you going to do
Are you just going to sit there and let
The Marans slaughter you

Are you bored of the dark, damp days
Are you sick of the same, old scene
So come and learn the Empires ways
And tell you're children to Inferno you've been

Don't be worried about the many foes
The Emperor can slay them all with a few blows
Don't be scared everything is all right
The War Master can tell you how to fight

I joined up and look at me now
I'm head and shoulders above the rest
And now I can take a bow
As I fought my very best

When you are ready and think you can
Find a Recruiter or walk to the Lands
Stand tall, be ready, and then you can boast

Chapter 9

The Emperor's Poem

After reading the Poem written for the War Master the Emperor asked me to
write a poem about him. I took me awhile to decide what kind to write and in
the end I decided a poem that brought fear into the Citizens of Thera would
serve the Emperor Best.

And here is his poem.

Penned in honor of the Emperor

Upon a guard tower the Emperor stands
Looking out upon what will soon be his lands

Black eyes glance over a beak of red
He smiles as he can taste their dread

Feathers the color of midnight cover his skin
With splashes of red like the blood in which he swims

People scream and run cowering in fear
Help Me! The Emperor is near

Twin daggers he slides into his foes
Bare knuckles deliver punishing blows

They fall like trees in a mighty wind
Run! They scream, he has come again

Bodies stacked high, left in his path
Theran's tremble in their sleep for fear of his wrath

Darkness and Order he wears like a cloak
This would all be better if you just take the Oath

Chapter 8

The War Masters Poem

Now the true Tale weaving has begun, I have been writing enough to make a
scribe jealous....

A poem for the War Master that he liked well enough to Promote me for it. So
here I will leave the words I have written in honor of the War Master.

Here is the Poem for the War Master

The War Master

Standing tall his cloak floating in the breeze
His Blades Salute then stand at ease
The War Master watches over the Codex
He stands first amongst the Blades because he is the best

Twin swords grasped in his hands
His eyes look across what will soon be our lands
The eyes never stop looking for foes
Bodies left waist deep wherever he goes

The Inferno holds no secrets from the man
Many deaths he has left in the arena sand
His wrath is great his fury knows no bounds
But also in his mind the knowledge of battle can be found

He leads the Sect and to Power and Might
He leads from the front never scared to Fight
His eagle wings spread wide all stand under his hands
Not scared to spread Darkness and Order through the lands

Chapter 7

A Battle of Words, A Great Group defeated by my Poem.

Well the Heralds had called a contest at the Inn, I asked permission to
attend and was granted by the Emperor himself.

I arrived to a Inn that was full of Patrons and even the Warrior Goddess
herself Iunna was in attendance.

I spoke with Uial who was in charge of the concert and took my place as the
opening act after the Uial started the ceremony.

I took the stage and recited the poem I had composed and been practicing for
quite some time. The patrons hung on my every word, they smile at the voices
I cast and seemed sucked into the battlefield as I spoke in voices that where
not my own. I finished to great applause and cheering. Once the contest ended
I was declared a winner and my mind staggered under the learning the Gods
themselves guided me.

In His infinite wisdom the Emperor told me to post my poem to the Empire to
grant wisdom and inspire them to be better Citizens.

Sometimes it appears a battle can be won with words alone.

Chapter 6

Time begins again, A mistake learned from and corrected.

Back within the comfort of the Empire once again.

After proving myself to the Emperor and the War Master by defending and doing
my job correctly they saw fit to bring me back as a sheathed blade ready to
perform and continue the fight.

I have shown I am prepared to do what needs to be done, and shown I can also
do what needs to be done without throwing my life or others lives away.
Multiple defenses and even a few solo retrievals they saw my worth once
again, and that I had learned and gained from my mistakes.

I will keep striving to be the best Citizen I can be, and I will also keep
from making any stupid mistakes.

Chapter 5

Time stops and begins Again.

On again Off again seems to be a good statement to describe my life.

Raised as a Citizen in a short time for my quick donations and stunning
defense of the Vanquisher and also my quick retrieval from the Maran. My life
was good, I killed a few, died a few times but I was on the way up.

Then on the day the War Master was promoted he had a contest to see who could
bring him the most gold in thirty six hours. I was in the mountain of Morton
at the time with no potion of return and only a scroll left, the scroll
failed so I ran as fast as I could. As I was running I kept drinking my ale
so I could sing for my legs, alas when I ran the gambit that was Eastern
road from the three fetish folk attacking me, I arrived at the palace just in
time. I staggered up to the Blade Sect Guardian so drunk I could barely stand
and he in turn could not understand any of my answers..... I slept, I drank
water, I ate until I thought my Stomach would burst... to no avail I was half
a day late to the meeting. Sitting outside the room listening to the
bereavement I was taking from the War Master for being late.

The next day I was made a Blood Oath again, since then I have striven to be a
even better Citizen than I was before, Defending the Vanquisher valiantly
striking fear into those that believe the Codex belongs to them. I was even
Gifted some Items by the High Priestess for my multiple defense efforts.
So now I drink only what I need to soothe my voice, If I do become drunk I
quit drinking until I am back to barely tipsy and I try to keep it that way.
Time to live life for the Empire not for myself.

Chapter 4

I have become a Citizen.

During my Many adventures across Thera I had a chance to speak with many
people. I had ale with a Drillmater, coffee with a Poveincal magistrate, went
learning with two wildlings and even walked awhile with a shadowed man from
the chasm. But the one that mattered was when I finally spoke with a bard
that was a Citizen of the Empire. Through his words and my readings i knew
what was in my heart for sure.

I wanted to give my mind, heart, soul and even my life to the Empire. The
order and laws Thera needs calls to my dark heart and now I have a path that
I want to travel, that I know needs traveled.

I took the oath from the Warmaster himself after speaking with the Divine
Voice. I went and made my Donation because before this i really no no use for
coin other than ale, and maybe a few potions. A few hours later on of the
Elite Blades themselves raised me as a Citizen.

After a long time of trying to find where and what needed done, many books
ready and many people that I have spoken to. I am now glad I have found my
place, I will try to do the best that I can, As a matter of fact I will be
the best Citizen I can no matter the cost.

Chapter 3

It's time for war.

Days go by, and battles are won and lost....

The road I follow has lost it's twists and turns and become a path that is
easy to find, even if it is a Hard road to walk. As I gain in skill and
knowledge I find my self analyzing things more and more. Every battle I am in
afterwards I go over it to find what could have been done better, by both
sides. This is helping me learn not just about myself but others.

I have found that most times the smarter of the two people win, sometimes
being the biggest and the strongest has nothing to do with it at all. I have
also found that even if people have a advantage on you there is ways to
counter that advantage to make it a even field, quite possibly in your own
favor. I would much rather have a smart group of people who know each others
skills and can use them to the most benefit than merely the biggest strongest
group. I have written a small poem to speak my thoughts better than writing
it out on paper.

THE BATTLE

The field is ready.
The battle plan has been thought.
The two sides face each other.
Now all that is left is for the battle to be fought.

A giant of a man with huge axes runs straight at his foes.
A magus cast spells on any he can see.
A thief stands back to see where everyone goes.
A bard tries to make everyone as good as they can be.

The giant storms ahead and kills many foes.
But falls among the blades before he knows.

The magus walks clearing himself a path with bright and flashy spells.
Blinded by the brightness of his work he never hears his death knell.

The thief watching from the side takes a bit of blood.
But he runs as soon as the enemy crest the hill in a flood.

The Bard keeps singing trying to help all.
And wishes he had pick a smarter group to fight with before he falls.

Chapter 2

A Path Well Travelled

Well much has happened since I last had a moment to sit down and put my
thoughts to words.
I am starting to find a way of life I never new existed...In my village
once in a great while would someone get into a fight, and then it would only
be brief. Now I see the land is almost awash in bloodshed people fight every
day, for survival, for food, for the knowledge it brings, and even for just
the joy of battle. I believe I fall into the last group.
The feel of battle, of pitting your wits against an enemy either by
yourself or with a group of others is a feeling that is hard to find
elsewhere. It is almost as if you get to declare War a hundred times a day...
you pick your enemy, pick your battles and do the best you cant to win, if
you loose you still learn hopefully enough to win the next time.
I think that this is what I was truly missing at home, and why I needed
to come and find my true path in the world.

Chapter 1

A New Path

Normal everyday life... that is what I lived for the first few years in my
village. Until a travel Bard came and sung to us in the square. From that day
forward singing and traveling was all i could think of, day or night my mind
wandered to new songs and new places. My family did not agree, being the
oldest son I was expected to tend the farm, but it was something I could not
stomach. As soon as I felt comfortable enough to make my way I pried the
floorboards up took my families rainy day fund, borrowed a horse from a mean
neighbor and set off on my path.
The path has not been a straight one, and surely not the path I thought it
was going to be, but finally after begging, stealing, and borrowing enough I
made it to Galadon to learn from the guild master. The singer from the
village told me Rune's instruments were some of the best, so that is where I
shall begin my path, to wealth, power and greatness. And maybe get in a few
fights along the way.
