29601, [BATTLE] Sarux the Whisper, Spymaster of Blackclaw

Sarux the Whisper, Spymaster of Blackclaw
DescriptionMidnight black skin stretches tightly over this muscular hairless felar that is before you - something you discerned from its thrashing snake-like tail, barbed with bladed piercings. Bulging eyes like black pools of darkness is the only piece you glimpse of his true face, hidden by an overly long obsidian mask that stretches down past his neck. Strapped tightly with faded leather to this creature, the hideous mask seems hand carved from the countless scratches and deep grooves embedded in the stone. Primitively hunched over like a stalking animal, taloned claws with bright crimson steel extensions grasp at savage weaponry that it scratches and digs into the ground in anticipation. The crowning glory of his vagabond armament is a cloak; sable, thick and black and soft as sin. Beneath the heavy cloak emits a wicked stench of noxious fumes, a perfume of death that follows this beast...reminiscent of every nightmare held by children.

29621, Sarux's Role Chapter 5
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 5 Background - part 1 Added Thu Sep 10 15:22:34 2009 at level 11:The story of Sarux's life is not really a story at all different from many - but more importantly a lesson on the difference of what becomes of a man faced with absolute death. That single moment, which happens in every man's life, is what defines them eternally. This is one of those moments...
Life was shit in the streets of Blackclaw - one of the countless orphans conceived from two unhappy felar striving for happiness, Sarux grew up hardened by a daily standoff against death. Each day a quest to fight starvation, keeping your stolen spoils hidden against the hungry mobs of rival older children....Sarux chose solitude instead of catering to the leader kid and paid for it with blood and a growling stomach more often than not. Failure meant death so it wasn't an option he dwelled on - when the youngest of the pack, a young fela Tavor got caught stealing food and they chopped off her paws for punishment, Sarux heard her horrifying scream every time he lost hope. Slinking in the shadows of the store that day, the shopkeeper had turned a blind eye to the starving youth again - no one ever bought these horrible balls of rotting pemmican and Sarux reached for the scent of food almost in a zombie-like state....until immense pain shattered his dream, as a steel-plated paw snatched his wrist and squeezed tightly despite his squirming like a worm on a hook. Feverishly staring at his paw he would likely lose, Sarux broke into a primal frenzy to try and break free but the guard squeezed harder until stars filled his vision as his wrist snapped. Limply dragged out of the store and out the south side of Blackclaw, Sarux felt the gaze from all his kin and lowered his head to await his fate.
Gasping for air through the intense pain, it wasn't until they stopped moving that he looked up and saw...him.

29620, Sarux's Role Chapter 4
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 4 Background - part 2 Added Thu Sep 10 15:23:12 2009 at level 11:"Here." Sarux was tossed like a ragged doll at the foot of a short cloaked man he had never seen before. "Coins," the guard growled.
"He's too young - I specifically asked for a mal-," but the growling of the guard silenced the rest. A bag of coins fell to the dirt near Sarux's head - an few silver coins, apparently he wasn't worth much which didn't surprise him. As the guard walked away, the silence became filled with the spidery words of magic and the world begun to spin out of control. Disoriented for an instant, Sarux opened his mouth to dry vomit what little was in his stomach when he relearned which way was down. Snorting contempt, the short stubby man spoke in a loud and commanding voice. "You are mine now and will do as I say, pet - when I return that mess will be cleaned or you will learn pain." A loud clang rattled in Sarux's ears as a nearby gate closed - which he quickly learned was his small empty cage in what seemed a small lab. Shaking his wrist in gut-wrenching pain, Sarux didn't give a second thought to how he'd clean vomit with nothing in the cage. Closing his eyes after awhile trying to comprehend nothing but sleep, the man returned....
"I told you to clean it, pet - you will do as your told!" Half listening he heard once again the spidery words of magic for an instant before pain ravaged his body - grasping his face tightly was a burning hand that refused release. Horrified from inbred racial fear, Sarux convulsed as he felt his skin begin to melt from the fire. "You will listen, pet!" The hand released and Sarux blacked out.

29619, Sarux's Role Chapter 3
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 3 Background - part 3 Added Thu Sep 10 15:26:45 2009 at level 11:Over the course of a few weeks, the details became clear. Sarux was a slave to a sniveling little stubby mage by the name of Dran - demanding to be called master, Dran saw fit to make hell of Sarux's life for no apparent reason. Dran dressed richly and did much to cover his lack of height or general hideous look. Sarux had gathered from Dran's mumblings to himself that he was somewhere called Thar Acacia but he knew nothing of it or really anything beyond the room he was in. More than likely a basement of sorts from the downward steps coming from the door, the solid alabaster stone room was small enough for only his cage and small table with some books - always cold and humid, the door showed light when opened but nothing more.
Each visit from Dran was relatively the same - Sarux was sarcastically asked nicely to exit the cage, then usually forced to by use of a magical binding that singed and yanked on his neck. Once out, Sarux would sit in silence as Dran tried experimentations of magic on him - seemingly a horrible student, the magic usually never did anything but when it did it would cause immense pain as if his bones were rearranging underneath his skin. If Sarux made any noise or if Dran's anger grew with his incompentance, he would be punished - burning what little remained of his face. It had happened enough that Sarux rarely felt anything as his face melted further each time. Having nothing to see his own face, Sarux felt with his paws once but decided it was best he never knew - bone, skin, hair and muscle was now just a flattened hard mush.
Normally a man would shatter under such conditions but Sarux never surrendered his will - strength within held high the relative few positives to his existence and seeds of vengeance grew but never were exposed lest it destroy him. His time would come and as fate smiled on Sarux that day, he was ready when the chance revealed itself.

29618, Sarux's Role Chapter 2
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 2 Background - part 4 Added Thu Sep 10 15:29:02 2009 at level 11:Storming down the steps this day, Dran was particularly mad about something - which meant Sarux would just be punished until he felt better. Muttering the incantation to open the cage, Dran impatiently reached in to yank Sarux out himself - a very simple mistake that cost him dearly. As a caged animal suddenly shown freedom, Sarux leaped savagely at Dran growling as loud as he could. Fumbling with the words under pressure, Dran whimpered and cried like a small boy as Sarux took no pity on his captor. Enraged beyond comprehension, Sarux grabbed and tore and grabbed and tore and grabbed and tore with his clawed paws he had sharpened on the cage over time. Whimpers became screams, screams became cries, cries became silence filled with the sounds of tearing flesh. After the only movement was his own, Sarux took a moment to glance at the shriveled disemboweled severed body. He felt nothing.
Dashing up the steps to his escape, the door slammed open to reveal a quiet luxurious family home. Sarux heard a woman crying from down a hallway but his eyes haunted the back of a small girl playing with some magical toy cat near the front door. Stalking upon her like a hungry savage, his claws weaved into her pretty blond hair as his other arm wrapped around her neck suppressing an escape - her scream echoed throughout the home. The crying mother entered and looked upon them with such slow horror she nearly crumbled before she yelled "Guards!" Within moments the front door burst open to two strange guards wrapped in robes stunned at what they were seeing. Before anyone spoke over the whimpering little girl, Sarux growled out his first own commanding voice - "send me home". "The girl must be released first...." fumbled the guard who had no idea what to call the disfigured thing before him. "SEND ME HOME!" howled Sarux as loud as his lungs could bare, his claws drawing blood drops from the girl's neck. They had no choice.
As the spidery words began to unravel and disorient his world he heard the guards demand her release amongst the chaos - he granted their wish with his own ending. His claws tore through the young girl's fleshy neck as his other paw savagely tore her head clean off. Her body stayed with them but her head went with him - not a momento to keep as he quickly tossed it aside, but payment for cowards. Quickly finding himself near his old home in Blackclaw, Sarux took hold of his view of the city - a different view than every before. This city would be his - not by loyalty or by popular vote but by fear alone. He stalked off into the night to find another coward - a guard who would die with a few silver coins embedded into his skull. Small price once for my life, now a small price to take his.

29617, Sarux's Role Chapter 1
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 1 Characteristics of Sarux.... Added Sat Sep 19 14:47:49 2009 at level 36:-Sarux is fairly unpredictable in his mood towards others. Sometimes ordering, sometimes friendly, sometimes helpful, sometimes ruthless - it's an approach of unsettlingly behavior that slowly gains trust from those he deals with....until the moment he lashes out. From then on, they fear awakening his anger and submit to being subservient to his wishes - a mind game. An army is not held by loyalty when death is on the line - only fear holds them there. A fear that death will come from failing to act and not by acting.
-Sarux likes to ask his victims "What did I take from you?" The purpose of this is that it's a question they will likely fail to get right - it wasn't their life, or their things but it was the illusion that they were safe. He will ask over and over until they want the answer - but they won't get it unless they submit. Since his tactics are not always as fruitful as blunt force, when he kills or knocks an opponent out, he steals and destroys anything magical - especially any sort of potion or scroll while leaving anything else. They may kill him and take his things, but they die inside when they know he is about or that moment they fall asleep.
-Sarux's goal is to rule with an empire of fear cowering beneath the nightmare he will become. When Lord Enlilth asked why the Village then, it was because magic upsets the natural order. When man found magic, he no longer feared - it was replaced with power over the unknown and enslavement. Without magic, man returns back to a world driven by fear with no answer for the things that haunt them.
