Description

Six feet from head to claw this avian is covered in feathers of solid
black. A noticeable scar takes residence on his right temple where few
feathers surround it. Said feathers while still black seem to have a
different sheen to them than those that surround them. Never closing,
his right eye is slightly bloodshot and motionless. Set between his eyes
is a small grey beak with a few tiny chips in it. His wings are covered
in the same black color feathers as the rest of his body. The only
difference lying on the tips of his wings, where the feathers while still
black, have a slightly brighter sheen. Under any armor is a layer of
dingy leather covering his chest and legs.

Chapter 5

Duality

The first years of Revilyn's life were filled with internal strife. As a
child his moods varied greatly and shifted as quickly as the wind. He
had two distinct personalities fighting for control. Once was kind and
compassionate, while the other was more sinister and less passive. The
good-natured part of him had a love for magic and even found interest in
studying it. Just as their nature varied, so too did their views on
magic contradict.

The internal struggle between the two raged on as he grew ollder.
Fighting for control, the darker side resorted to inflicting harm on the
body in an attempt to kill off the other. This continued on for years as
some wounds healed and others left scars.

Some time later the darker side took what would be a drastic measure.
Believing that a body's soul, or souls perhaps, took refuge within the
mind he had convinced himself he knew how to dispatch of the passive
kinder side. Using a small sliver of glass he cut slightly into his
right temple. The pain was intense but the hopeful result was enough to
bare through. Upon opening the wound enough he slid the glass shard
directly into the would quickly. As he removed the shard his vision in
his right eye blurred slightly as he passed out.

Chapter 4

Awakening

Days passed before Revilyn awoke. Upon waking he felt as though he was
missing something, or someone. He had done it. He had finally managed
to rid himself of the kind-hearted soul he struggled with for so many
years. This came at no small cost to his body. Scars from the years of
self inflicted injury were scattered across his body. Still a fresh
would, the slice in his right temple was tender and covered in blood.

As weeks passed the wound healed. However, the damage inflicted was
great enough that a scar remained. A scar far more noticeable than the
others. Most of his scars were covered with feathers. The slice in his
temple left the skin so damaged that feathers would not come in to cover
the damage. He kept the piece of glass with him, and carried it with him
at all times.

With full control, Revilyn set out with his hatred for magic. He
believed that all people have the same condition he grew up with. Most
have one side of them decidedly stronger than the other. The other lies
dormant unable to make itself known. His intentions were to seek out
those who embrace magic as his weaker side did. He will attempt to free
their dormant side so that it may take control as he has.

Chapter 3

Dedication

Some time has passed now and Revilyn has taken some training in the arts
of the assassin. Their attention to detail and precision will aid him
greatly in purging mage loving souls from the bodies they possess. For
some time now the gods have protected them from him and so his focus was
to remain on training.

Once named an Okuiri within the guild the gods deemed it time for others
to be prepared to undergo his attempts. He set out to find one suitable
for such. A young invoker, uttering incantations about, filling the air
with his magic. Revilyn took his opportunity and struck him, leaving his
body lying on the ground. He then took the same glass shard he used upon
himself and sliced into the body's right temple. However, the invoker's
magic loving soul still remained. Revilyn still had much experimentation
to do in an attempt to find a way in which to reporoduce his own outcome.

Revilyn made way to the Ostaligiah Ruins just outside the Village of
Magic Haters. He visited their blacksmith, Tahren, to bring him the
magical rod the invoker possessed for destruction. Tahren could smell
the blood of the magic loving soul upon him and took notice, asking if
he'd be interested in dedicatting his life to more of the same. Revilyn
agreed, dedicating his life to the cause. All who see him will know his
cause and those that oppose him shall feel it.

Chapter 2

Acceptance

After having spoken with the Commander of the Village, Woldrun, Revilyn
found himself accepted and deemed worthy of taking his place within. He
told the Commander his story, as he had the other Villagers he'd spoken
to previously. The Commander did not mock him, or assume him crazy as
the others had seemed to up until then. That alone gave Revilyn a great
deal of respect for him.

Woldrun seemed to acknowledge his experiences and even posed the question
of "What if the magic loving soul is simply hiding and returns?" A valid
concern and though the magic loving soul had not made its presence known
to Revilyn, it had been some years since it had, such possibility had
not left his thoughts, and he has always reamined prepared and willing to
fall on his own blade destroying his body if need be to prevent the soul
from surviving. He assured the Commander of such after which he was led
to the Village and shown what materials to read to learn more.

Finally, perhaps Revilyn had found a home. A family of sorts, albeit not
one of conventional standards. Revilyn knew not who his parents were.
In his earlier years he was unsure of who he even was. It was only after
the other soul was forced away that he had become who he is now, just
beginning. Memories of his past other than the constant fighting with
his other self were lost when he jabbed the glass shard into his skull.
No name, no history...all gone with the other. It was now that Revilyn
felt he needed a name, something to define himself. To any who would
come to know him, he was now Revilyn Ragewind.

Chapter 1

The Dreams Begin

Revilyn has been finding himself waking from vivid dreams over the past
months. Dreams of what he can only assume to be the past the he has
forgotten. In them were himself and three others primarily. One a young
girl, no more than a few years younger than himself. The others an older
male and female. His family perhaps? As Revilyn did not remember
anything of them outside of his dreams he has been unable to discern
whether this was the case. In these dreams the others study in the arts
of elemental and metamorphic magic. Is it possible that he has come from
a family of mages? Regardless, what became of them? All questions that
he is not yet able to answer and can only keep record of his dreams for
now and try putting the pieces together.

The scar on Revilyn's temple has managed to fade a bit over the years.
Since the dreams began a few feathers have begun filling in around it.
Oddly, these feathers are not of the same hue as those that cover the
rest of his body. Instead, they are of pure white and seem to reflect
light quite easily. Such a reflection could prove detrimental to his
ability to remain unseen within the shadows. While a few of the feathers
are able to be plucked he must resort to dousing the remaining plumage
with soot to keep them from view.
