Arrna Holdfast the Sapper-Trained Blaze of War, Elder of the Fortress
DescriptionA towering blue figure stands before you, almost 15 feet tall, she makes for a menacing figure. As you stare at her face you see it is not just her blue skin, but it has been covered in war paint in an intricate design and a pair of dark blue, almost black eyes peer at you with a dangerous glimmer within. Strangely she has little wrinkles at her chins, as if she laughs a lot. Very long thick, braided strings of pale green hair filled with gray streaks falls down the back to her waist. You see large well toned muscles covering her arms and legs, you cant help but notice the beautifully tattooed spiral swirling on her left wrist. Several scars and dents throughout her armor and body telling you that this giant is not shy of combat.

28564, Arrna's Role Chapter 24

RoleChapter 24 A firestorm part 1 Added Sun Apr 19 18:46:08 2009 at level 4:I gigantic cloaked figured quickly swam through the dark streets, looking over its shoulder, seeing the hunters not far behind. For the thousandth time Arrna cursed herself for being born a Firestorm. She had lost count on how many times she had been chased out of towns by mobs now.
For as far back as she can remember her family had been hunted by their kin. Now, it was only Arrna left. Her mother and father had died twenty years earlier as a mob managed to catch up with them when the village had found out who they were, they had actually managed to live normal lives for almost ten years before the village found out... They put up a fight which managed to get Arrna to escape, sacrificing themselves for her.
It all started with Arrna great grandfather, Endugu Blueweed. A shaman within the coral palace and advisor to the king. As most men with power, Endugu was tempted of even greater powers, but unlike most storm giant he caved in to his desires. Coming in contact with dark queen Mergulla, Endugu was promised infinite powers, and gave into this. The lords of the light striped him of his powers, but somehow Endugu managed to keep that quiet, and continued to give the king and queen advice on how to run the empire of storms. His advice only followed his own and queen Mergullas plans. And it all ended as the great lords stepped in and thwarted his plans right after he had managed to poison the most beloved King and Queen the empire had seen for two thousand years.
In his final hours he realized that he had been set up by Mergulla from the beginning, as he was desperate he used his dark powers to kill the guards and as a fitting ending he used what powers he had left setting each of Mergullas followers homes on fire, creating a powerful storm of dark fire, roaming through the waters. Queen Mergulla did most likely enjoy the chaos that her former follower caused, but it did thwart a few of her plans, and as she appeared in the waters outside the palace, glaring at Endugu as he stood on his balcony, she pronounced a curse to his name and with it, naming he and his kin Firestorm, for them to be cursed throughout time bringing misfortune to anyone around him.

RoleChapter 14 The quest continues. Added Sun May 31 15:39:57 2009 at level 51:The past twenty years has really changed Arrna and her view upon the world. Her quest to once again regain her faith in others has revealed a lot about herself. She has come to realize that to be able to trust others, she must let go of her own fears, and be able to forgive those that have hurt her in the past. But to able to do that, she must first be able to forgive herself for the mistakes she has made.
The greatest lesson she learned was from a squire, Okinlistik. As Arrna had fought the lich Satebos and been slept, Okinlistik came to rescue Arrna, and succeeded by sacrificing his own life. Arrna had mistaken Okinlistik for the lich, as she was blinded. And thinking that she had the lich in a good position she did her best in fighting it... It was already to late when the mistake was discovered... The lesson that she learned was that even though Arrna had killed him, the dwarf had no problem in forgiving Arrna, he was even happy about being able to save her from the lich. If the dwarf could forgive Arrna, his good friend, for killing him, then perhaps Arrna can forgive herself, and all those in the past...
And as a good step has been taken for Arrna to regain her trust, she will press on and do what it takes. The fortress needs a leader, and Arrna must prepare herself to possibly pick up the mantle as the captain, if the honor is given to her. For what captain can be a good example if she cant trust others?

RoleChapter 15 A revelation Added Sat May 23 18:01:53 2009 at level 51:Many years of war have passed, years of success, years of failure. No sign of an end to the war. Though Arrna has not always been as present as she had hoped, distracted from her task by her goddess peril she has been seeking solutions to the problem. Though finally it is solved, without Arrnas aid it seems. So much time wasted that could have been put in the war Yet the light has put up with her absence, so she has decided not to linger in those thoughts.
But as her lady is no longer dying, she is not healed yet. And her mind seems to be clouded with grief and depression, and the last conversation nearly brought Arrna into the mist of depression as well, just with a few words, Lady Iunna almost turned Arrnas hopes down. As she left the shrine though, she realized though, that this is why she follows Iunna. It is not to seek an anchor or inspiration, it is because of the fire, the fire that burns like a beacon within Arrna. She realized that she had almost faltered in her conviction, she had almost become insecure, and that thought strengthened her and brought insight. This is why she is a follower, she does not falter, her flames doesnt flicker. She know what needs to be done, how to fight the war and set an example for Iunna as she seems to have forgotten who she is.
Arrna paused in the middle of a step and said to herself. Fighting a war alone is futile, we all need companions, friends, lovers and whatnot. I must get Iunna to realize this, that she is not alone. I am with her, her followers are with her. And we shall carry her through her grief, and show her what she has inspired us to become.

RoleChapter 16 A string of light in the tragedy. Added Thu May 14 06:42:59 2009 at level 51:Pain, somewhere she senses that her body is experiences pain, she must be bleeding as well. But it was many years ago she took notice of her body bleeding. All that exists is the patterns she moves herself and her lance in, back and forth, up, down to the side, entrapping her opponents weapon. The bird in front of her is covered with blood mixed with feathers and the face masked in rage, but a glimpse of fear could be seen in the beady eyes, Arrna just kept pressing forward, knowing that now was a crucial time. Suddenly the bird flapped with its wings, trying to get past Arrna, quickly Arrna thrusts he lance forward, blocking the birds escape, continuing the motion she makes the lance go a in a circle, chopping down on the bird leaving a painful blow. The bird throws itself in another direction, just barely getting past the lance, as it cuts the bird over its back, sending it a few feet away, laying on the ground, paralyzed, dying. Arrna quickly walks over and separates the head from the feathery body, ending the birds torments. Covered with stabwounds, Arrna picks up the coins from the fallen, and then takes a defensive posture over the corpse.
Suddenly, an invigoration strength fills her. And the voice of Lady Baerinika can be heard from the fortress, congratulating Arrna. The honor had come to her, she was now a member of the phoenix brigade, a maran. And for a moment, she felt light, as if the burden of the tragedy had lifted, but it only lasted briefly, soon it came again. But now, she had stronger tools at hand, both for the war, and for her quest. She could only pray that she would be able to use them wisely...

RoleChapter 17 The great tragedy, a quest begins. Added Thu May 14 06:19:09 2009 at level 51:Sleep comes slow, dreams slower, but eventually the darkness subsides to reveal a foggy scene. Smoke billows from a large bonfire, its size and strength making the small white fela before it seem that much smaller. The diminutive figure kneels before the flames, her posture one of defeat after an arduous battle. Lifting her head slightly, she holds her arms aloft as though to direct the flames. The flames flicker under the fela's control, then blaze wildly. A mingled look of panic and surprise strike the fela as she stares into the fire, a pair of dwarven eyes blazing back at her. Stumbling to her hindpaws, the fela tries to regain control of the flames. FAILing that, she begins hurriedly backing away. Arms of flame lash out at her, pulling her back to the fire and the vision within. Captive to the fire's intensity, she stands completely still as the flames slither over her, helpless to their examination and sapping of her strength. The sudden screech of an enraged drake pierces through the flames, lashing out at both figures within, separating them forcefully with its talons. The flames wane visibly as the fela falls from their grasp, pristine fur singed and splashed with crimson. The dream subsides abruptly, leaving you with a sense of unease... Not fully understanding the dream, Arrna quickly seeks out Fyeereth her best
Not fully understanding the dream, Arrna quickly seeks out Fyeereth her best friend, to discuss this. When almost through with explaining the dream, it hits her. It is indeed Lady Iunna who is the fela in the dream! Jumping to her feet she rushes her Ladys shrine, finding her there, bleeding and Powerless. Not far behind her is Fyeereth, Susubienko and Vythigor.
They were told that this dwarf, was a god, entrapped by a wyrm. The god had bonded with Iunna, leeching her strength to stay alive, and the Wyrm had tried to separate them. Iunna had found the dwarf in the fires when looking for Goroel, a follower of hers that had died many many years ago.
They spent hours trying to convince the lady to accept their aid, but nothing they did could aid her, not even the Paladins of the fortress could cure her wounds or break the bond. As they realize it cannot be done by them, the begin pondering the situation, discussing the aspects. They come to the conclusion that they must free this dwarven god so that Iunna can regain her strength before she dies. The bird, who is also a loreseeker, claims that a certain hammer is used to killed the wyrm, but only by knowing the true name of the archmage, it can be obtained. The location of the wyrm though, none seem to know, even though Arrna suspects it might have to do with the dreamlands, as she is certain that there is a trapped dwarven god within some gigantic beast there.

RoleChapter 18 The betrayed becomes the betrayer... Added Tue May 5 03:45:53 2009 at level 48:What must not happen have happened. On her way with her brothers to explore some haunted keep, Arrna charged into battle before she had determined if her foe was someone needed to be cleansed or not. Just as she strikes, she realizes that her foe is not dark of heart. But it is too late, her heavy body has already driven the polearm into the poor poacher, and killed him him with one heavy blow... In despair Arrna threw down her weapons, holding up the lifeless body, tears streaming down her face. She has done the opposite to what her war is meant to do. Instead of protecting the innocent, she has killed one.
Her first reaction is to take her own life, but she quickly realizes that this wouldnt help. Nothing she can do will bring the poor poacher back to life, and taking her own life will only strengthen the darkness. So what can she do but asking the lords and ladies of the light for forgiveness, even though she knows she is not worthy of it, she sends up her prayers, while swearing that she will fight the war even harder than before, and never, ever again strike someone innocent.
She also decides that she is not worthy to carry Arins weapon, the thunderlace that he so kindly gave to her to fight the wicked. Perhaps it is not for her to decide, but for now, that is what she can do. She must speak with Lady Iunna about this, and seek out the gods of the fortress. Until then, she shall meditate upon what has happened and continue to fight the war, maybe she is no longer worthy to be of the fort, but that is not for her to decide, if shes not, she will continue the war on her own, as she did for so many years before.
As she hours later to return to the spot of the tragedy, the poacher has returned. And he is as trusting to her as he was before. This made Arrna think of her own problem, why cant she trust people? This poacher, was killed by someone he trusted, someone sworn to protect him betrayed him, and yet, he continues to offer Arrna his trust. So why couldnt Arrna continue to trust others, why cant she be such a good person?

RoleChapter 20 A fast paced surface. Added Thu Apr 30 17:54:53 2009 at level 39:Life on the surface is quick, not what Arrna is used to even though she is a rather hasty giant, as shes been on the run for her entire life. Shes already a far bit on the way to reach the pinnacle of her guild and has been inducted to the fortress by the Marshall. Shes also encountered several of the darkness and faced them in battle. She has killed, and been killed. Inflicted pain in her enemies, but she has also found out that she enjoys the thrill of battle more than she thought that she would and she takes great pride in her skill. But she senses a danger in this pride and enjoyment, as it is something that both Humbert and Taeranduu warned her of. She must be wary so that she doesnt become what she fight, she knows that she must never enjoy the part where her enemies dies.
She havent seen her lady for quite some time, though she has mostly been awake during times where rumours says its hard to find lady Iunna, so perhaps it is not so strange. Hopefully Arrna will give the lady a chance to open her mouth next time...
A new goal has become clear for Arrna, she wishes to become a Maran, even though she feels that she can do well in the war as a squire becoming a Maran would be an honor and a good step for her on the way to redeem the family name.

RoleChapter 21 An avalanche of events Added Fri Apr 24 04:56:05 2009 at level 28:Much have changed since Arrna came to the surface. She quickly learned that most people havent ever been to the Coral empire, and none this far has ever heard of her family name or her grandfather.
She quickly heard about the fortress, a bastion of light out in the wilderness, inhabited by warriors of the light fighting the same war as her. After making several inquiries with different members of the fortress and witnessing them in battle against the darkness she has decided that they fight the same war as her, and much would be gained in the war if she were to join forces with them. It was the latest conversation with Humbert that really convinced her. The conversation also led to him recommending her to become a squire of the fortress.
Arrna has also met with Lady Iunna, after having a long talk with one of her followers, Fyeereth Arrna felt that it was the right move to seek out the lady, she also gained her her first friend ever in Fyeereth, someone she feels that she can trust, someone to talk to.
Previous to the meeting, Arrna had been very nervous, but as soon as the lady appeared it just ran of her and she let it all out. All of her thoughts, plans, ideas and who she was. Quite frankly lady Iunna seemed quite taken by the endless stream of words from Arrna.
Arrna wasnt sure she did right in blurting it all out just like that, but she really needed to get it of her chest. All those lonely years of silence. Now only time will tell if lady Iunna will approve of her ways. But no matter what, Arrna will stay true to her beliefs.

RoleChapter 22 In Arrna's mind Added Sun Apr 19 18:47:04 2009 at level 4:Arrna is cursed as the rest of her family always have been, and she is the last of them. Having lived a life constantly on the run, she has became paranoid and hard as nails, the only persons she have ever trusted is now long gone.
She strongly believes that her only chance to redeem her family name is to wage a relentless war against the darkness, without mercy. She has a slight hope of doing enough good to get it removed, and if not, shell die trying, which is almost as good. She has also heard of a certain god, lady Iunna, who inspires her followers to stand by their beliefs, perhaps which could become somewhat of an anchor for Arrna as she will be very reluctant to join the fortress, unless persuaded. She will of course first look into it as she encounters them.

RoleChapter 23 A firestorm, part 2 Added Sun Apr 19 18:46:33 2009 at level 4:As the Mergullas incarnation disappeared Endugu swam out the balcony straight into the raging firestorm, never to be seen again.
Arrna found what she was looking for, the small hole in the cave that she had seen as she came to the town, and quickly swam into it, knowing that she had escaped once again. By now, everyone knew her face, posters with her face had been placed all over the empire, and she could barely find shelter even far out in the kelp forest among those living far off from the villages. It was time for her to leave the ocean, she was old enough to begin what her mother and father always had trained her for, time for her to wage war against the darkness. And perhaps, make enough good deeds to outweigh what her great grandfather had done, so that the curse might once again be lifted. Either that, or let it die with her if she failed.

RoleChapter 19 A hard lesson. Added Mon May 4 12:44:36 2009 at level 48:Having waged the war against the darkness for many years now since she left the ocean, Arrna has learned something that she believe to be important, and vital for her to achieve if she is to obtain her goals... She must learn to trust the others in the fortress. Several times have evil escaped her because of her unwillingness to trust the others. It might as well have saved her life and yet, she cannot force herself to do this, even though she do like and think she should trust most of the members within the fort, she just cant. This lessons was hard for her to learn, as she knows that she will not be redeemed or made Maran before she has overcome this.

28543, Arrna's Role Chapter 3
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 3 The tournament, part 5 Added Sun Jul 19 14:16:00 2009 at level 51:Suddenly the flames flickered, and Zalenne and Ghrummin returned. Neither of them a ghost. It seems as if the battle was aborted as Zalenne had wandered into a whirlwind without any means to escaping it. And lord Thror declared that instead, Arrna now should face Ghrummin.
Arrna grunted something unhearable and hurled herself back up on her feet. Taking a firm grip of her lance as the flames flickered and she found herself back out in the desert. She could sense Ghrummin being on the other part of the desert, and she quickly moved a bit closer to that part, and waited. She did not wish her protections to run out before she could engage the dwarf. She could now see the dwarf moving closer, and with a disgusted look on her face, she drank the vile potions.
She could see the dwarf now, not far away at all. And she knew that he could see her as well. She knew if she stepped closer, one of those skyflashes would engage her, and moments later shed have a spear impaling her. And she knew that Ghrummin was thinking the same. Whomever made the first move would be at a disadvantage. As she realized she had been hesitating, she cursed out loudly and charged into the skyflash, immidiatly retreating again, hoping that shed lure the dwarf into coming. But in her rush, she didnt take note on where she fled, and ran right into a group of trolls who quickly ambushed her. She retreated back to the skyflash, only to find Ghrummin waiting for her, and the spear quickly pierced her armors, once again cursing she retreat to a safe location. And Ghrummin followed. They fought hard, a cut artery there, a broken bone there, a heavy chop on a torso. Back and forth the battle went, when suddenly the group of trolls and skyflashes engaged Arrna.
She quickly retreated to a safer location and heard how the group of creatures now engaged Ghrummin instead. She charged back into the dwarf. Just to face another group of trolls. Now they both fought each other and two band of trolls. Neither Arrna or the dwarf willing to retreat, their vigor faltered from the blood loss. With a heavy chop Arrna struck a mortal blow to the dwarf, who fell stunned to the ground and the trolls finished him. With her last strength, Arrna managed to retreat from the two groups of trolls who had now turned against her as Ghrummin fell. But she was safe, the battle was over.
As the flames flickered and she returned to the cliffs, lady Iunna gave her a reassuring smile and she could see Ghrummin looking somewhat a shame as lord Thror cursed at him for losing against women, twice. There werent even thrown any real insults from the two dwarves anymore. Until lord Thror seemed to shape up a bit and with a mischievous smile declared the third battle to be a battle of wits. A contests of insults, and with a wide grin he pitted Arrna to face Ghrummin first.

Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 4 The tournament, part 4 Added Sun Jul 19 14:13:57 2009 at level 51:And the long hunt began. Zalennes forms had the ability to hide within the desert, making her able to pick the location and time for each encounter. The first encounter was very even, but Zalenne was forced to withdraw. Badly hurt Arrna withdrew to a cave nearby, stuffing herself with pills and getting a few hours rest. She knew that Zalenne was bleeding all over the place, so she figured she had a few hours. Suddenly she was awoken by a group of trolls that had been tracking her around the desert. She quickly retreated from that battle and now she could sense Zalenne being on the move again. Arrnas protections had begun to fall, and she could only hope that Zalennes would as well. Suddenly a hyena lunged itself right at the lance, and the battle was at full speed again. This time Arrna had the upperhand, and it was clear that the hyena would be forced to retreat, as Arrna failed to push it around, the hyena managed to escape the long tip of the lance just barely, retreating into the desert again.
The battle waged back and forth a few times like this, until Arrna finally found the place where the hyena was hiding. Quickly eating a root that created a thick fog, the hyena was covered with its purple dust. With perfect timing, as the hyena was dying, the trolls showed up again. Barely able to stand on her feet, Arrna threw down the lance and with her last breath she pummeled her heavy fists on the hyena, who fell just a breath before the trolls struck the final blows on Arrna.
One again the flames flickered, and Arrna found herself at the cliffs together with the others. Lord Thror now declared the fight to be between Zalenne and Ghrummin. And they both disappeared within the flames.
While the two battled out in the desert, lady Iunna told Arrna how she learned her first lesson from the monks, it had actually been just in the very same desert. And how she had made use of the skill all warriors are thought, how to drive their foes into their own preferred battlefields, thus the monks thought lady Iunna the landslide of the second breath.

28545, Arrna's Role Chapter 5
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 5 The tournament, part 3 Added Sun Jul 19 14:13:19 2009 at level 51:Quickly she dashed in after him, only to stumble upon a rock on the ground, giving the dwarf a split second to escape her. Cursing loudly she headed off in the same direction as the dwarf but he was gone. It took her a few hours to track him down again, this time the dwarf was sleeping, being more careful this time she walked up to him and took her time to aim her blow. Just as she strikes the creatures that had been tracking her caught up with her, facing those creatures together with the drillmaster wasnt an easy feat. So she tried to drive the dwarf to some better location, but he stood his ground, knowing that hed have to make the stand there. Dancing her dance quicker than she had ever done, she kept the creatures at bay while still manging to get a few good blows in at the dwarf who certainly was dying now. With what she thought to be her last breath, she chopped the head off from the dwarf and threw herself away. She lived! And the first part of the battle was over.
As the flames brought them all back to the cliffs above the desert, the insults began hailing from the dwarfs again, but a small bit of desperacy could now be heard in their voices, as the dwarven champion had fallen.
Lord Thror now declared that the second part of the battle were to fight each other one against one, and first out to fight was Arrna and Zalenne. Arrna shook her head in dismay and quickly gave Zalenne a hug, whispering to her to do her very best, because Arrna could do nothing less her self. Zalenne hugged her back and told her with a mischievous smile that Arrna better do her best, as it Zalenne would stand victorious.
The flames flickered again, and Arrna found herself in the eastern part of the desert, and could sense Zalenne in the western part. Quickly going through her supply of potions, she realized that she only had enough to fight this fight and one more fully protected. Hopefully that would be enough, if not... Well, shed fight to the end no matter what.

Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 6 The tournament, part 2 Added Sun Jul 19 14:10:33 2009 at level 51:The flames once again flickered around Arrna and she found herself in the far west side of the wastelands, quickly scanning the area she could sense Ghrummin and Zalenne far to the east. Cracking her neck she quickly drank the vile potions she had gathered, magical barriers forming around her and enquickening her reflexes. Moments later she made use of her long legs and charged through the desert, moving down the dark creatures moving up in her way. As she moved, she could hear the yelp of a Hyena, she quickened her pace as she knew that was one of Zalennes forms and the battle had begun. She finally got the eastern part, and she sensed that Zalenne was hiding somewhere in the desert, most likely after getting a few hard hits from Ghrummin. The creatures of the desert were tougher here, and in her rush to find Ghrummin, she had merely retreated from the battles of the creatures, and now she had almost ten of the tracking her around the wastes. She must find the dwarf before they catch up with her, ten of those would be a rough battle even for Arrna, even though she hated to admit that. Moving more carefully now, Arrna watched her every step, almost sneaking as another giant would see it.
Then she saw him, resting in between a few jagged rocks, she quickly charged into the dwarf, hitting the dwarf square in the chest with a might blow. The dwarf already seemed to be a bit bruised from his previous encounter with the hyena, Arrna took use of it and sliced open his arteries with the sharp end of the dragonbone lance. As sweat trickled down in both of their foreheads she could see the increasing desperation in the dwarves movements. So this is the mighty drillmaster she thought, Ive had tougher fights than this! And with that thought she struck a mighty blow on the dwarf, forcing him to retreat.

Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 7 The tournament, part 1 Added Sun Jul 19 14:06:14 2009 at level 51:A sudden flash in the sky drew Arrnas attention from Zalenne and up towards the stars. The constellation of the incarnadine spiral were shining bright, and merely a moment after the hammer and anvil lit up as well. It is time Zalenne, Arnna said and hurled herself back up on her feet. Zalenne nodded and slid up on her feet with feline elegancy. Suddenly bright flames surrounded them both and they found themselves together with lord Thror and lady Iunna, standing in the mountains, overlooking the barren wastelands named the wastes of noveil.
Suddenly flames began to flicker midair and the form of Ghrummin the drillmaster took shape. A fearsome dwarf to lay your eyes on, covered from top to toe in heavy armors covered with long bloodstained spikes and two heavy hammers in his belt and a spear on his back.
Arrna and Zalenne barely got time to greet their lady before the insults started hailing back and forth between the three woman and the two men. Finally the rules were explained to the even, even though the two dwarves seemed to prefer to use words over actions. They were now to compete all against each other. Not as it was first planned, Zalenne and Arrna versus Hudralon and Ghrummin. Though only Ghrummin wouldnt have been much of a match for Arrna and Zalenne as they had prepared for the battle very carefully ever since the day it was planned. Years of training and gathering of preparations.
The two unlikely sisters looked at each other as the rules were explained, and gave each other a hug and a quick nod. It would end up with one of them dead eventually, but that is the way of the war.
The first part of the tournament was that Ghrummin would face Zalenne and Arrna at the same time. Though all three of them were to begin in different part of the desert, a desert filled with traps and strange creatures, aggressive to anyone trying to cross the vast land.

28548, Arrna's Role Chapter 8

RoleChapter 8 A life filled with harsh decisions, but also some light. Added Wed Jul 8 17:54:17 2009 at level 51:Will you marry me? The words echoed through Arrnas skull for a few moments, before realizing what they meant. YES! She responded, throwing her self in Humberts arms. Suddenly there were no concerns, not about age, the war, the fire, love... Anything, it was all gone. All that meant something at that moment was Humbert, the one man she had ever loved after her father passed away. After the first chock came to rest a suddenly feeling of stress came to her. There was so little time! Humbert is actually very old. Quickly they decided that theyd consider themselves husband and wife from now on, and make sure to get wedded as soon as possible. They should also starting working on building a family, when time is given from the war.
Hopefully the wedding can take place soon enough, whenever Lady Iunna and lady Padwei can be present, if they wish.
It is interesting how quickly a bad day can turn into a good one, as the question came not long after Arrna had fallen to the empire in an attempt to retrieve the orb. And yet, how it can change again, when not long after, Arrna is forced to make a sad decision and remove one of her brothers from the fortress. That makes them three, if she doesnt count Dargin who was removed by Lornkanamas, though hopefully hell come to, and realize where he belongs, and perhaps end up as a squire.
Now Arrna has even more on her mind than usual. The upcoming wedding, children, the war, the applicants, the soon to be tournament and the endless training of the squires. If things dont calm down soon, her mind might burst, risking her to lose her sanity. But only time will tell what happens.
As she grows older, her short term memory becomes increasingly bad as well. Though as of yet, she hasnt changed, she is still only in her middle-ages.
She also considers in her mind, to change her view of the spire. As it is truly filled with darkness. But she is still uncertain on what to do about it. Most likely, it wont be peaceful though, as that course has failed once already.

RoleChapter 9 A great loss, and structure in the plans. Added Sat Jun 27 12:55:03 2009 at level 51:The provost passed away... The news sunk into Arrna as she didnt move for a while... Sadness, the first feeling running through her mind, the loss of a brother in faith, though in beliefs. Anger, the second feeling that entered her, anger in knowing that the mummy would take over the post as a provost and knowing that her plains would fail.
The anger faded quickly as new plans began to take form in Arrnas mind, though the sadness was there to stay.
The mummy must die, thats for sure. Hopefully someone of the light can move up through the ranks and gain the favor of Lord Marcatis. But for now, we must focus even harder. I must finally take the time and write this missive to the fortress. I shame Im not that good with words, has taken quite some time to come up with the ones necessary.
Arrna sat down and began writing the note that she had constructed in her mind, finalizing the process by branding it with a Maran seal.
Perhaps not as invigorating as if a bard had written it, but it should be sufficient. Arrna slowly nodded a few times with her gigantic head as she handed the missive to a messenger.
Now what to do about this upcoming tournament? It is of great importance to protect my lady from the dwarves insults. But I can set the priority higher, the war must always come first... With her eyebrows wrinkled Arrna let out a deep sigh and tapped her chin.
The dwarf shouldnt be a problem with all the enhancements that I can gather, and Zalenne can take care of her self well enough. But if Haidoril is chosen... I have no idea how that one fights, I must track him down and engage him. We will win this though, it is just a matter of how much that well win it. We must show those smiths who carries the real fire.
Once again Arrna nodded slowly to herself, putting away her pen and ink, stretching her limbs as she stood up and adjusted her armors.
Back to the war then, the hunt that never ends, she said to herself and forth out through the gates of the fortress...

RoleChapter 10 Focus of the fortress. Added Fri Jun 19 07:29:42 2009 at level 51:The years pass, Arrna grows older. The fortress has grown in numbers, and quite an army has been built.
Over the years Arrna has realized quite a few things about the surface world. For one, the importance of the laws. As their intent is to do the same job as Arrna does with her war, protect the innocents. And with the new provost who is not dark of heart, Arrna wishes to aid him to bring in new blood of the light to the spire to outweighing the presence of the mummy. Hopefully she can get someone of the light to become provost instead of the mummy when her brother Vythigor passes. But for now, the fortress has been ordered not to break the laws.
The war has been going well, though quite a few squires and marans seem to focus their efforts against the villagers instead of the more true enemies, from time to time Arrna have done so as well, that she must admit. But this must be changed, the priority to Arrna is firstly the Scions, as from she has learned they scheme to destroy the world and set forth some untold darkness to Thera.
The second priority is the empire, as they strive to spread darkness across Thera as well, but theyre at least somewhat civil about it. And it should be easier to counter.
With the increasing presence of liches and mummys in Thera, Arrna has been battling them for quite a bit, though not with great success. Sure, the mummy isnt that much of a problem, but the liches... They are powerful, and as soon as Arrna gets blinded, she must retreat. Hopefully she can learn with time, how to overcome or resist their spells so that she can hunt them with the flames that burn within her. They must find no rest until they are back in their tombs.

RoleChapter 11 Dance of the Polearm. Added Fri Jun 12 07:42:18 2009 at level 51:Arrna slowly begins to circle the glaive around as she moves her feet in a rhythmic pattern, as if she were keeping someone at bay. Arrna takes a few quick steps back and suddenly slams her heels in the ground, thrusting the glaive forward. Arrna sidesteps twice as she moves the glaive back and forth in a diagonal pattern, slicing it through the air quickly.
Arrna keeps moving her feet in the same rhythmic pattern and with a flip of her wrists, she changes the course of the glaive to a quick downward strike.
Arrna quickly sidesteps again while the glaive's tip still remains on the floor as if blocking something off before ending it all by bringing the glaive up in a wide slice through the air as she thrusts her self forward. Arrna pants heavily and wipes some sweat of her forehead. Arrna takes two quick steps back and ends up in her starting position.
The dance of the polearm... A bit earlier Arrna asked Iunna if she should be preaching about her, and Iunna just laughed at her and gave her a warm smile. Relieved of not needing to preach Arrna mentioned that she really aint too good with words and most likely would just be ordering people to head to the shrine. What are you good with then, Iunna asked? Without hesitation Arrna answered that her talents lie with her hands, weapons and her war. If you aint good with words, what do you consider poetry then? Tapping her chin for a moment before responding that poetry to her was the dance of war. And thus, Arrna danced with her glaive before the lady.
As Iunna complemented Arrna she asked for her to remove her left bracer. Arrna winces slightly as Iunna drives her claw into her flesh, tattooing her with an incarnadine spiral.
In the hugging and smiling that transpired afterwards they begun talking about trust, and Arrnas inability to trust others. As they discussed it, Iunna gently pushed Arrna in a direction where she could realize that she did in fact trust those who knew her well, as they had accepted her for who she was. As Arrna realized that, she could feel the wall she had within her fall. Finally, she truly trusts her brothers and sisters of the fortress.
Arrna will from now on be even more self confident, and do her very best to honor Iunnas faith in her. She is determined to be a strong leader of the fortress and a good follower.

RoleChapter 12 Stepping up to the job. Added Wed Jun 10 18:11:32 2009 at level 51:The recent guideline that Arrna and the Cardinal have constructed resorted in quite some trouble within the halls of the Maran. The Marans Zaknifal and Aeinrez did not quite seem to understand or agree with the meaning of it. And Arrna tried to explain it to them on several occasions. She felt as she reached through to Aeinrez and got him to understand and respect them. Though to get Zaknifal to agree and understand them seemed to be an impossible task. Not even the Cardinal could reach through to him.
Seeing no other way than to seek the lady Jaguar about this, Arrna set up a meeting with her at her shrine. After explaining the intent of the guidelines and discussing the problem with Zaknifal, the jaguar gave some reassuring words to Arrna before in somewhat disguised and gentle words explaining to her that she is being to soft as Marshall, and that she needs to toughen up and start leading her Marans and Squires.
Arrna truly took those words to her heart, and will from now on act even more as a leader, and be harder on her Marans and squires.
This new approach to her leadership might also, if not getting the "proper" result, lead to Arrna becoming jaded and cynical.

RoleChapter 13 Knowing yourself Added Thu Jun 4 03:58:09 2009 at level 51:Yawning heavily, Arrna wiped some blood of her lance and sat down heavily in the Voralian guild of warriors to take some rest, when suddenly the lady Jaguar appeared before her. After some initial greetings and the like, the lady Jaguar asked Arrna whom she found worthy to bear the mantle of a marshall. After a long period of thinking, discussing the traits of Zaknifal and Aeinrez with the lady, Arrna came to the conclusion that she herself, was the more fitting to become the new Marshall, somewhat encouraged by the lady Jaguars words. And thus, she was offered to pick up the mantle as the new Marshall of the fortress.
Before the conversation was over, the scions came to retrieve the sceptre, quickly apologizing to the jaguar, Arrna threw herself back into the war. Just a last stand before she took some rest.
The past years Arrna has spent a lot of time meditating and soul searching, as she wishes to overcome her paranoia. This has also led to some other insights to herself. She has realized that it is her own actions, skills and decisions that have led her to where she is today. The fire that burns in her, might have been inspired by different things, but what she has done, is what has made her what she is today. Marshall of the fortress, follower of lady Iunna and a good warrior of the light. She finds strength and comfort in this, finally knowing who she is, and why. Perhaps she can discuss this with her lady when they meet again, when there is time. She fears that she will have less time to visit her lady now, as the many duties of her position will take up much time.

RoleChapter 2 The tournament, part 6 Added Sun Jul 19 14:17:01 2009 at level 51:Arrna muttered something to herself, knowing very well how good dwarves are at cursing and insulting people. But she did have a few aces up her sleeve, she knew he was afraid of bunnies, and that dwarves always care about their mothers and their beards. So that was what she was going to aim for. The insults began hailing as Thror declared the battle to begin, and after hours of insulting, it was over. Arrna had beaten the dwarf in his own game!
Now Arrna was supposed to face Zalenne instead. Arrna knew shed have a hard time to insult her sister whom she loved dearly. But shed do her best, as she always did. But this battle was over very quickly. Zalenne was far more skilled in finding weak points to aim for, and she was declared the winner.
The two dwarves both looked throughoutly beaten, and lady Iunna was beaming with joy and pride as lord Thror summarized the points, quickly showing that the dwarf was far behind the two sisters who were tied in points.
Stroking his beard a few times, lord Thror declared that a fourt and final battle must be held to declare a winner, as there could only be one. And the dwarf declared that it would be a race to their ladys shrine. And no magical means were to be used. Arrna gave Zalenne a wry smile, as she knew that would mean she couldnt use her form of the gazelle who would easily outrun even a giantess like Arrna.
Lord Thror began the countdown, and Arrna tensed her muscles. THREE the loud voice of the dwarf declared and Arrna set off into the mountains. She took a few wrong turns, and Zalenne got past her, but as she entered the city of Seantryn Modan, she saw Zalenne heading out another gate, Arrna knew then that she had won. She knew a shortcut! Arrna arrived to the gigantic bonfire a moment before Zalenne, and quickly spoke the words that would send her to the shrine. Moments later Zalenne appeared. And it was over. Arrna was declared the winner.
And being a dwarf to hold his word, lord Thror promised to teach Arrna the sapper techniques. Though Arrna knew that this surely wouldnt be any easy training, but anything that arent tainted that can approve her abilities in the war, must be used and endured. And she would endure this, for the cause, for her lady and for the safety of Theras citizens.

RoleChapter 1 New fuel to the fire Added Thu Jul 23 18:28:47 2009 at level 51:The pain were intense, like nothing she had felt before. And yet, she had thought herself to be prepared for this. She knew the day would come, and that it would come soon, and yet this pain, as if her heart were going to explode.
Humbert is dead... Before they even got to be married. Arrna will always call Humbert her husband, as they agreed on the day he asked her to marry him. Her mourning might have seemed brief to many, but to Arrna, the war always comes first, and she knows that Humbert would have wanted it to be that way. Though her loss has made her harder, and from now on shell get harsher and harsher on the fortress, starting to compare everything to how Humbert would have done it. She will slowly walk closer and closer to the fine line between light and dark, but she will NOT cross it. (At least I hope that I wont.)
She wont be able to fall in love again, but her lusts have awoken after spending the nights with Humbert at the lake, perhaps, in time, shell take a lover, if someone will have her.
She recently met with a kinsman named Bregarth Fjordlin, a sapper-trained warrior sent by Lord Thror to train her in the ways of the sappers.
Her first task was to endure the heats beneath mount Kiadana, perhaps it was foolish, but she felt as if she shouldnt be removing her heavy armors and show any weakness. She would endure anything that they would throw at her, anything to strengthen her self and make her lady proud.
The second task was to face her past, learn the history of her people, a history her parents had neglected to tell her, even though it burns in her blood. A history of enslavement and darkness. And she had to battle that darkness, a beast named Grishnaug. It proved to be a hard task, but Arrna wouldnt back down, and the beast finally fell and Arrna utered a brief prayer for his soul.
The third task were the hardest, enduring the insane heat of lord Thrors flames as they burned the very core of her, setting her blood on fire.
Thats when she felt it, how she could use the fires within her, to burn away taint that might polute her blood. Now she knew the way of the sapper, to endure against all odds to press onward in her war.
Arrna will now be much less inclined to insult dwarves, and lord Thror in particular.
