Description

Before you stands a human male of average height and average complexion.
But his build determines that he has had many years of practice.
Dark, short, hair lays piled like a haystack upon his head, off
setting his bright hazel eyes. His build is not that of
a heavyset man, yet not a slender man, either, the word solid comes
to mind. The smooth, slightly tanned, skin on his face and hands
shows where his robes cannot protect him from the sun. Glancing down
at his legs, it seems as though they were meant to be fit for someone taller.
Faint, minute freckles seem to adorn his cheeks and the tip of his nose.

"Have you heard of Chaos?" - The voice called from the shadows,

"Chaos? Of course?!" - A Confused Sletren replied.

"Ahh. Ignorance. Freedom. Absolute freedom." - The voice continued.

Images flooded Sletren's mind:

- The releasing of the demons from the depths of hell. Only to find
the souls they were promised to feast on found sanctuary in Dis.

- The releasing and trapping of the birds, flying in circles
around a winterless land.

- The releasing of water trapped by a dam, by creating a route in which
the only access is by flowing up hill.

- The bringing down of a system only to find that it held the world together,
and then total antipathy to any and all destruction it brought.

- The return from the dead to find your mother pissing on your grave,
and then loving her again as your own.

"Do you understand?" - The angry voice said.

Sletren thought. These images seemed impossible to grasp, even for the
smartest magi. But, he could not show the voice he was stupid, no, he
was joining the shapeshifters guild the next day. And they accepted
only the smartest.

"Do you understand?!" - The voice proclaimed again.

"Aye, Chaos." He cried out, with as much confidence as he can muster.

Chaos.. Chaos.. Chaos.. he woke repeating the words.

Was this his awakening? Was this just a dream? He had had many dreams. But none
like this. This one was.. real... As real as a voice in the shadows can be. The images,
graphic, the release. He felt the freedom. He found sanctuary in Dis. He enjoyed watching
the birds wander. He knew he had free'd them from their routine migration, though they did
not comprehend it. They thought they were still trapped.. but free'd..
All the water had to do was muster enough energy to overcome a little hill.
Spoiled meat and spoiled fountains bring destruction to entire towns. The mother's
piss is divine. What the hell would it mean to him if she was pissing on his grave?
Did he do these things, or did these things allready exist? They must allready exist,
otherwise they couldn't be so.. real. Freedom.

Sletren understood and set off his journey.

His father had taught him to insult and lie. Though sometimes Sletren makes some horrible insults.

Sletren heard of the Barons of Chaos. He thought this must be his path. Revival of the old
ways is a primary goal of his.

Sletren heard of the Scion of the Eternal Night. He thought this must be his path.
The rift seems to be the closest to total chaos. Thought if successful, Sletren
would let it loose, and not let any of his brethren be in control. This would bring
him his power.

Sletren heard of the Nine Circles. He thought this must be his path. To call
on the power of the demons is to beckon their existence on the surface.

Chapter 4

Reason

Everyone around seems to need reasons for things. So Sletren gives them reasons.
However inane they may be, they make perfect sense to Sletren as incentive for
other's favors.

Sletren doesn't see reason as black and white as everyone else,
instead he sees it in shades of red and yellow, a tool to his end. No confidence in it,
only how others may.. understand him.

Sletren chooses to kill. To lie. To cheat. To tortue. To steal. To insult. He considers
himself evil. He does not have any guilt when doing these things. Sletren speaks truth,
however, even when he lies. Brings life with his kills. Contributes by cheating. Pleasures
through torture. And gifts thruogh theivery. Chaos in mortal, incarnate. Anti-thesis to all embodied
in a single mind. Not insane. Not sane. Alive, free, strong, and dangerous.

The Eternal Night

Sletren understands his peers. He is wiser than he shows himself to be. He sees through
their deception. It is all typical. Pretending to trust one, while pretending to loathe
the other. They hold the dagger behind their back with both hands, leaving their front
open for a wolf to maul. They are all see-through, typical, predictable, and weak. Most
do not see the worlds drive toward chaos, no, their sight does not go past their shiny
new dagger. Blinded by their own selfishness, to the point of disregard for their ideals.
Sletren must find a way to bring the Eternal Night, to let it free, to let it chew up
and destroy, to bring back Chaos.

Sletren remembers his dream. Sletren longs for the days of freedom, he has been having
it more often lately. There must be something he is missing.

Chapter 1

Blood

Sletren has a newfound love. Although he has been able to become a wolf for a while, he
recently has achieved enough familiarity with the form to appreciate it with human
consciousness. The gap between his two existances is fading. He calls himself wolf.
He has not seen another wolf even comparable to his power, nor even heard stories.
He savors the moments where he bites through his opponents leg, biting deeper and
with more passion than ever. He longs for it and will taste it when he can.

He wonders if this passion has anything to do with his dreams. He has not felt
this strongly about something since the first time he had one. It was so real,
as real as the blood of the elf he tasted earlier. Chaos through blood?
The chaos of battle can be embraced, but requires wisdom. Sletren possesses
great wisdom.
