Oraimus Black the Grand Master of Changelings

Description

A handsome, if only by human standard, man is before you. His face is clean
shaven and youthful despite hours of wisdom held within his gaze. As if
sculpted by the gods, his eyes are perfected placed on each side of a firm
yet delicate nose. The lack of color by their metallic hue do little to
tarnish his piercing look and not one crease mars his forehead. However, the
natural arc of his dark brows gives his face a near permanent expression of
determination. The raven black color of each arc perfectly matching the well
groomed hair upon his head. The fashion and style would seem careless to most
at a glance, but it has been trimmed accurately and evenly.

His body is perfectly standard, that he seems to have undergone his own
regiment of exercise. He is neither overweight or emaciated, but rather
appears toned and aware of his own abilities. The only thing of note is his
pale complexion.

Chapter 3

The courage

"Eat boy!" the angel above me spat. Even in my memories I could recall that
feeling of confusion when that angelic face contorted with such venomous
hate. It seemed wrong and unnatural... "The pantheon damn you! Feed!"

I wanted too... my throat and stomach churned with that fire! That burning fire
that threatened to rip my insides out, and the gods above it hurt. Maybe my
angel was right, they damned me now. "No..." Although my voice was weak, I
managed the word. That was the answer of course, and not just to my angels
request. The gods hadnt damned me either.

Silenced by my rebuke, the angel above stared at me before speaking again
calmly. "No? That is your wish, Oraimus?" He managed to make my name sound
harsh despite his normally melodic voice. "To think I thought you may have
been stronger than your... mother. Poor, little Alexia Black..."

She died while giving birth to me and I knew this enough by the many times my
angel seemed to remind me. It was my fault... Every time the fire began to
burn my throat and stomach I remembered it was my fault. I had to find the
resolve, the courage to find my own way. In that moment, as I lifted my gaze
once again to the angel standing over me I knew that he was nothing of the
kind.

As if echoing my own sentiment, the vampire shook his head and turned to walk
away. "You are no better than a human..."

I was dumbfounded. I almost began laughing out loud and I know I would have
cried if only I was able to. They would have been tears of joy this day
though. I wasnt condemned like this creature who walked away... my mother was
flesh and thanks to her so was I. My beating heart echoed my thoughts like a
war drum leading the way for a crusade...

"I will find a way to live... a way to protect and fight for the blessed of
Thera!"

My own frenzy of thoughts worked up an appetite and I nearly convulsed upon
the ground in pain. As I thought of cooked meat I nearly convulsed again
with disgust...

As I lowered my gaze to the recently killed doe I sighed once more and gave
in to my hunger. The blood quenched the flames that threatened my insides.

Combat, a combination of body and mind

Untrained I knew that I could not redeem the nature of my soul, so I began to
wander the streets of Galadon. I had gotten used to the smell by now, older
as I was. Such a city was bound to hold a large quantity of blood, however,
I took this as penance for the marks upon my soul that I was born with.

I was naturally fit, but I could find no desire to swing a blade alone. I
must have spent hours wandering about the city because the tavern interiors
were the only sounds I could hear in the distance.

There it was. Instinctively I knew this was my path as the yearning was
nearly as strong as the sensation of my hunger often was. The means to shift
my body...

That night I enrolled into the guild, and when inquired about which beasts to
study and focus upon I informed them that I was undecided. Of course, I was
unaware that my choice was already made.

Perhaps another trait... not of Alexia Black.

Myself, my life as it has developed recently

I couldnt help but sweat as I trained within the past. The memories to the
Forest of Nowhere as vivid as they would be in the present day were the
forest not lost to the flames. It was impossible to explain the confidence I
held with the studies I chose. I felt attuned to the nature of its magic,
even if I could only sprout horns from my forehead. Even with each painful
jolt as the horns sprouted through my skin I held confidence that
shapeshifting was as much a part of who I was than any chosen profession on a
whim.

My companions were resting, so just as I always would do, I stepped away to
eat. I still could not keep anything deemed as normal food down, so I drank
from my disguised bottle as soon as I was out of sight. The flames of my
throat were immediately suffocated and the pain of guilt ran through me. I
hated stepping anywhere near the temple of darkness, but I had refused my
angels teachings. I would not hunt people, and I did not learn how to hunt
wildlife well. It seemed much more pro-life to visit the fountain there in
Galadon as I passed through time from time. My shoulders sagged a little
more than normal as I returned to my companions to continue our assault on
the foul creatures of the forest.

It was then, the vision as clear as the morning sun. A strange tusked pig
was staring at me. In his eyes I could understand his anatomy, his demeanor,
and as soon as I was free from any foes I uttered the incantation to shift my
body. Just as my guildmaster taught, the animals would find us more than we
could force our ability to find them. He also believed that those creatures
that found us were some how linked, if not by similarities than by spirit,
and I couldnt help to continue upon his way of thought.

The time in form was marvelous. Thought didnt seem to be as complicated
when fully transformed. I simply felt that constant rush of adrenaline, a
heat when I gazed at the enemies lurking about the forest and the need to
grant them the feeling of my sharpened tusks. I all but could forget about
the blood when transformed.

Hours upon hours I must have continued that hunt despite the beasts and
gnolls that would not die for long. The forest scarred by so many dark
memories was difficult to manage without being saddened, but the pursuit and
use of my forms continued to drive my resolve. In the back of my mind I was
fully aware of where the determination and resolve flowed from. The darkness
the angel left in me. If I could focus whatever oddity it truly was into
something else. I was not evil, and I would not allow evil to threaten
anyone.

Perhaps I was training too long and too hard since I was nearly maddened by
that overwhelming determination that somehow seemed fueled by the fire that
once again had built up within my throat. There it was! Cackling at me as
surely as my mind would have right then if it had had a mouth of its own.
This jackal, although easily mistaken as an oversized mutt. I halted in
mid-stride, earning two worried glances by each of my companions, and uttered
the incantation that would once more transform my body.

I had gone crazy. No. It felt as if I had gone crazy, but instead this
beast was so alert it made me feel paranoid. It also came with a strong call
to hun
