Lauriel Au'dinae the Grand Mistress of Artistry

Description

Standing at four feet three inches, hair a sleek black,
flowing over her sholders, this wood-elf is the picture of
beauty. Her eyes, a deep and piercing blue shade, seem to
sparkle, with unholy light. Her body pulses evil with
every movement.

The smell of dried blood mixed with a scent of ash
surround this elf as though it were her own.
As you take a closer look you notice

Chapter 7

The past will be written in the future, the present right now.
Added Sun Nov 4 15:13:05 2007 at level 31:

I am writing in this book to leave a story of my life for others to remember
me by. I hope that some day my words will live on and inspire others to
further their knowledge of song and verse.

I am going to begin this by adding a copy of my note that I sent to the
Herald, asking to join their family:

Subject: A Herald I wish I was.

To whom it may consern,

My name is Lauriel, and I have dreamed of joining the beloved members of this
inn for quite some time now. I would ask of you but to give my pen a moment
to sing of the songs which I would much like to do for you, yet am unable as
I do not see any of you around the inn at the times I am awake.

Flesh that parts quiet along the knife blade
Lyrics that resonate, ring alive, fade.
Spirals of chlorophyll cover, defy.
While I am living, this hope cannot die.

Edges of pain that has shrieked in my mind
Trembling despair nearly batters me blind.
Things left behind are more precious than breath.
While I can speak, I will not yield to death.

Watching the light for a chance of reprieve
It will all funnel to what I believe.
Time will bring healing, with scars it must give.
While I am dreaming, my dream will still live.

I am not one to boast, as I know I am young, but thirty one titles to my
name. Yet I am a perfectionist, and have been since I was old enough to sing.
So I know that I will bring a level of professionalism behind the bar, or
even at the flame.

Please, if at all possible, I would much like to hear back as soon as
possible regarding your thoughts on my becoming a part of the family here are
the in.

Thank you for your time,
Lauriel

*We shall see what they say I guess.*

Added Sat Nov 10 16:00:47 2007 at level 39:

So I was inducted into the Herald. It was a very interesting experience. I
had sat there by the fire and talked to Gasper about the Herald, and all that
being apart of the family required. He was an interesting person, a thief
none the less, who was running the reputable Inn of the Eternal Star. Is it
any wonder that the Inn is short of members?

I joined the Herald to bring to them an understanding of how to treat
customers. Maybe I was a little sly when dealing with this thief, and for
that I feel as though I betrayed my true calling... To find and tell of the
truth in Thera.

To find and tell of the truth, think about this for a minute. Why do you
think I joined the Herald? Hearing what you have about me? Well, to be
honest, I don't trust your mental capacity, so I will just tell you. I
joined the Herald so that I will have the ability to get those who come to
the inn intoxicated. Drunk. However you want to say it. Why you may ask? Well
because within wine brings truth, and truth is what I seek. Does this give me
a reason to deceive others? I believe it does. Let us hope that the truth it
out there to be found.

A little of this, a little of that
Added Sat Nov 17 09:55:26 2007 at level 47:

It has been an interesting time as of late. So many things to write about!

The number one thing I should be telling my readers is that Patick and I are
in line to be married. (I personally believe we are married already, but he
wants a ceremony.) Oh well. Patick is a member of the Herald as am I, and we
first met when he began to flirt with me for no apparent reason. (Other than
I was being my regular cute self.) So he actually spent hours upon hours
seaking out gifts for me! I think I may have let it slip that I was more
focused on being a perfect singer, then gathering for myself.

Well, to make this long story short, Patick had fallen a few times in attempt
to find things for me, and without cause or knowing, I began to see in him a
willingness to do anything for someone he cared for. This would mean I could
change him if I wanted to. Now don't get the wrong idea, I am not evil or
anything, there are just some things I do not like about Patick. First off,
he was not actively seeking reputation in his guild. That was a major turn
off for me. he was more content with being of lesser quality then the others
of his craft. I can not have that in a husband. Secondly, he is a human. What
would people think if I was wed to a human? I had to think about what it
would be like to have a wood-elf, like myself, as my husband. Well, he would
not be as strong as this human, and in my serch for perfection, I thought,
why not get better then the other elfs out there!

I had tossed around the idea of using Patick to further my endless search for
perfection, but I began to fall for him. He was able to say things to me that
made me crumble inside. He could make me laugh, and knew just how to make me
deeper into song and verse, and continually strive for perfection in all that
you do!

I shall leave you with another poem to help get you on the right track. This
poem is titled, "To Battle!"

I slave away, awake this day,
No constrain, in time or pain.
Inhumane, it might remain,
I gain my fame, on this terrain.

Weapons clashing, warriors dashing,
Some are slashing, some just bashing.
Begin our clapping, with mages zapping,
The enemy thrashing, after smashing.

We stand alone, alone we stand,
In command, in high demand.
Left unmanned, this piece of land
Raid at hand, so we disband.

Twisted Truth
Added Sat Dec 1 08:43:23 2007 at level 51:

I have been wanting to write a new chapter to my book for some time now, but
there has been so much going on! Well I will make it as short as possible so
you can get back out there and begin writing poems and singing verse!

I married Patick - I am losing touch with him emotionally, I am begining to
think he is having relations with another. I may soon have to end his life if
I find it to be true. I will invite a few of his friends over to the inn, and
get them drunk enough to stumble. They will be my guide to knowing if my
suspicions are correct.

I seek Rayihn - I had sent her a note explaining my desires to be one with
her. To understand as she understands, to love as she loves. I spent time at
her shrine, gave her guardian a note to pass on to her, and still I recieve
no word. I should think that I am just not good enough to gaze upon her
beauty. I shall try harder to please her. I have spoken of her to others, I
have sang of her love and beauty. So now I shall begin writing poem, but it
is tough to write on someone you have only dreamed about.

And because this book shall only be gazed upon by others when I pass, I shal
tell you how my search for removal of Gaspar is going.

I had started to think that just taking him out would be the way to do it.
But I found out that there were so many others before me to take his position
when he fell. So I have begun to debase them at every possible turn. One
bardess, I forget her neame to be quite honest, she will be of no matter in
the coming years, has given me the perfect begining to reaching the position
in the inn. She had been afflicted with deamons for a short time, and she is
quite crazy if you ask me. Well, while other heralds were conserned that she
was in pain and not being her self, I went and spoke with Iunna, and tole her
that we couldn't have a bard like that in the inn, after all she might hurt
the patrons. Iunna stood there amoment, and noded in my direction. Completely
throwing out what Patick was saying about that little bitch bard, who was
taking the focus off of me. It will be something I should need to focus on
more as time goes on.

Yes, truth, it is all in how you spin it. I find truth a difficult thing to
attain. This is why I seek truth, not because I have to be truthful, but
because I have such a hard time speaking it.

A LARGE chapter in my book!
Added Fri Jan 18 15:21:37 2008 at level 51:

Okay, so my poem book has begun to suffer since I have lost touch with the
people of Thera.
I have lost touch with their feelings, their desires for poetry, and for the
feeling that it gives them each and every time my voice carries the sweet
sounds of verse to their ears. I would like to be the soul they need, the
voice that carries them through, but I can not. So much has transpired in my
life since my last chapter. I shall make an attempt to update the readers as
best I can.

Okay here we go...

Patick Au'dinae, my husband, passed away one night while I was asleep. He
sent me a note telling me he loved me and will always be with me. I went
through a rough time, and since that time I became introverted. I ceased to
write verse, almost entirely. I began to cut short my friends and the time
spent with them. I still am going through that a bit here and there.

Alright, enough about that...

I befriended Iltch, a thief of the Hamsaah guild, the main thief to be exact.
He and I began to spend some time together because we had a mutual desire for
gold. Now I think I should explain to you readers that I like gold for
reasons other then he does. I seek the power that gold brings the owner.
Iltch seeks the gold to further his guild. Here is where things get
interesting...

I had in my possessions three point five MILLION gold coins... THREE POINT
FIVE MILLION GOLD COINS. And about Three hundred sixty THOUSAND gold coins in
the Galadon bank. And guess what?! The gods took my HARD earned winnings from
me and told me I -cheated- the gambler in the Inn. So they took ALL of my
gold out of the bank and out of my pockets, and my saddle bags, and my forty
large sacks filled to the brim. They left me with two hundred gold in my
pockets and one hundred in the bank. Then told the gambler to leave the inn,
and figure out how to take more gold from the patrons of the inn, and not
give gold but rather twice the amount of WORTHLESS items.

This gold was going to be my ticket to the truth, to the TOP. My winnings
were going to make me the most powerful bard in Thera. The Empress would bow
to me, BEG me to fun reconstruction of her empire, build new things.
ANYTHING! I could buy ALL the thief guilds! In the time that I had my
millions, I bought four warriors and a few thief's. They do as I say no
matter the cost. I own them. End of story.

I struggle each day now to come up with gold to eat with. I have grown
accustomed to the finer things in life, and without my winnings I am unable
to buy people off, to buy fine armor, to buy protection. I was going to OWN
Thera. You readers have no idea how close I was to all of this glory. I would
have erected a statue of myself in Market Square of Galadon, had the gods not
taken my winnings. You readers would have bowed to me.

I am stewing in my disdain toward the gods, they could have made a TRADE or
something! I mean to take three point five MILLION gold, and offer nothing in
return... You tell me that I am wrong for feeling as though my time is
worthless and my enjoyment with the gambler was wasted. I would be happy with
three point five million gold worth of divine insight into my ability's.
Okay, so I am kind of joking, but not really! I just feel robbed.

Okay, enough on that subject...

On to Gaspar! What

An Undying Lust
Added Sat Jan 26 13:51:47 2008 at level 51:

Well readers, I have hit the mark... My soul is turned and I feel GREAT! No
more will I ave to put up with the moaning of others. No longer will I pander
to their needs. I may have lost my voice, but I have something many bards do
not, a new found hatred wich dwells within me, making my every muscle twitch
with unholy strength. I hit a wall when the she-orc-bitch slew me repetedly
to rip away all my posessions. I lost sense of right and wrong, I began to
feign strength and then began to draw power from the Prince of Betrayal's
mark. I ran to the city of Galadon and began to attack all who decided to
walk inmy path. It just so happened to be a mage... This mage made a poor
decision in fighting me. He chose to shackle me and slice me, I fought him
back four times, wearing away at his resolve. He had to flee because my voice
was enhanced with the power of the darkness. The mage came back with new
guards and slew me. He made the biggest mistake he could imagine... His
actions brought forth in my mind a undying lust for the magi to lay in pieces
across Thera. We shall see what will come of all of this, my dear readers.

The Final Chapter
Added Sun Jan 27 18:03:49 2008 at level 51:

When a bard loses the joy of music she loses the joy of life.
When the music fades, and all is stripped away, all that is left is a shattered life.
To live with music has been a blessing, every moment filled with joy.
Now without a chance to gain my final perfection, I am left void. Nay, a shell.
I leave you readers with a toast, one that is close to my heart.

Here's to the ones we love, and to the ones who love us.
And to those who don't love us, may the gods turn their hearts.
And if the gods won't turn their hearts, may they turn their ankles so we may know them by their limps.

Cheers, dear readers. For to drink and dance, sing and fight, these are the blessings of life.

Yours most truely,
Lauriel Au'dinae Wine-poet/Barmaid at the Inn of the Eternal Star
