Drahmim OreBeard the Legend of the Battlefield
DescriptionA terrific specimen for his race at four feet eight inches tall, this stocky dwarf's powerful physique is as solid and aweinspiring as the jagged peaks of Akan. Dark, deep-set eyes stare out at you from beneath his heavy, unkempt brow. The bridge of his nose is flattened, as if frequently broken, though the end of it is bulbous, gnarly, and twisted. His strong, chiseled jaw is hidden beneath a hearty beard, the rusty color of oxidized ore. The head on his hair is thick and tangled, braided down his back, tied down with a heavy mithril band. As you look closer you also see:

RoleChapter 5 Backstory - Childhood Added Sat Sep 8 08:22:22 2007 at level 2:**************************************
Drahmim's childhood years were similar to most dwarf of Akan, clinging to his mother's beard in as an infant, playing "soldier" as a toddler, wielding a small toy warhammer, then taking up mining and smithing as he grew older. Unlike most of his clan, however, Drahmim enjoyed the mining aspect of his chores far more than his tasks as an apprentice forgesmith. He enjoyed the pure, primal power of swinging his hefty pick-axe and hammers deep into the stone of the dark, dusty mines. He especially enjoyed watching his physique grow stronger, and more chiseled itself. Eventually, though, his great and powerful arms were called into war, as the age-old battles between Mortorn and the orc horde spilled over into Akan.
Drahmim relished his role as a soldier. He was a fierce, courageous fighter, He showed little remorse as he dispatched duergar and orc with a ferocity and joy that none of his comrades could match. The time-enduring tales of a bloody Dwarven rage, were certainly displayed in his tactics and fighting style.

18057, Drahmim's Role Chapter 4

RoleChapter 4 Sphere - Honesty Added Tue Sep 11 17:15:55 2007 at level 12:**************************************
Drahmim is a firm believer in honesty - expressing his true feelings, regardless of the trouble it may cause him. This does mean that he is callous or disrespectful, as he does attempt to soften the emotional blow his words may cause. He understands that there are times when it is not healthy or safe to be emotionally honest, however he believes that overall society would be better off if everyone were more truthful.
By acting honestly with others, he thinks that it may encourage them to be more emotionally honest as well.
In many ways, Theran society teaches us to ignore, repress, deny and lie about our feelings. For example, when asked how we feel, most of us will reply "fine" or "good," even if that is not true. Often, people will also say that they are not angry or not defensive, when it is obvious that they are.
Children, however, start out honest. They express their true feelings freely and spontaneously. But the training to be dishonest begins at an early age. Parents and teachers frequently encourage or even demand that children speak or act in ways which are inconsistent with the child's true feelings. The child is told to smile when actually he is sad. He is told to apologize when he feels no regret. He is told to say "thank you," when he feels no appreciation. He is told to "stop complaining" when he feels mistreated. He may be told it is "rude" and "selfish" to protest being forced to act in ways which go against her feelings.
Through all of this the child learns they can't be honest with their feelings. They gradually stop being emotionally honest with their parents, their teachers, their friends and even themselves. They learn it just doesn't pay to be express one's true feelings. Distrust and hatred rule the land.

18056, Drahmim's Role Chapter 3
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 3 Magic Added Sun Sep 16 20:33:23 2007 at level 24:Magic depend very much on belief. Not just of the will of the mage who believes they can achieve such miracles through such simple things as words and gestures, but also the belief of the victim. People read greatly from expression and action, body language, so those that have trained themselves to resist magic often try to project the image that no such words and gestures will affect them. This is why Gods are so much stronger when using mana than mortals - thousands even hundreds of thousands will pour their belief into a God. A simple mage can't compare when bending reality.
Dwarves have a unique perspective in that they are stubborn not just by nature, but from creation they are ingrained with solid, stalwart values and beliefs. As a people, dwarves are fanatically loyal to family, clan and race above all else and will pursue grudges against those who wrong them with self-destructive stubborness. It's said that a dwarf wronged never forgives and never forgets. As such, Drahmim has come to hate the roots of magic and all associated with it. Though he has seen the effects of magic on his kin, and the remains of magical runes throughout dwarven folklore he is embarassed by the reliance on magic that many in dwarven history have come to enjoy.

18055, Drahmim's Role Chapter 2

RoleChapter 2 A sad homecoming. Added Fri Oct 19 10:54:42 2007 at level 45:On that unseasonably warm autumn's eve, when he marched diligently into his small village on the outskirts of Akan, Drahmim broke out in an icy sweat. A sudden and intense hopelessness overcame him and he almost turned right around, as he saw the village gates in the distance, but he resisted the urge that overcame him.
The red and amber foliage should have enlivened the town, but instead, it was grim and forbidding. Hovering over the highest ridges of the western mountains, the sun seemed strangely shrunken, shedding light that didn't fully illuminate anything it touched.
The village was as bleak as any old mining town, where the mines had shut down, and most good jobs had been lost decades ago and been moved to Akan. Nevertheless, it wasn't such a horrible place that the very sight of it should chill his heart and bring him instantly to the edge of despair. He was puzzled by his peculiar reaction to this long-delayed homecoming.
Sustained in it's heyday by few thousand miners and their families, and now by fewer than a few dozen residents, the only changes he could tell from his youth is the utter lack of activity in the main district, even on this beautiful day. The few people who were on the streets, he didn't recognize.
He'd been away a long time.
When he turned up the walk of his old house on the western edge of town, his feer deepened. The small building was in disrepair.
"Somethin' ain't right", Drahmim muttered to himself.
His steps quickened, and he sprinted the last few yards to the house's front door, and he barrelled through it with alarming speed and strength.
It was empty.

RoleChapter 1 + Hardships aplenty Added Sun Oct 21 18:46:39 2007 at level 46:Shocked and dismayed by the disappearance of his kin, and the hopeless condition of his village, Drahmim returned back to his hut within the village and contemplated his existence. Since reaching maturity in his guild, he has suffered many defeats at the hands of hero, who choose to take their fights to him, even though their experience greatly exceeds his, and his few victories are minor, and mostly moral in nature.
"I went an' learned tha axe, an use it wit' tha fiercest fighters in tha land," Drahmim thinks to himself, "But mah father ain't here tah enjoy mah victories wit' me... an' he surely ain' here tah help me understan' mah defeats."
He gathers his resolve, and determines that he must push himself to join the ranks of hero himself, to truly see if he can use his strength in the fight against the magi, or if he is doomed to failure.
