Description

The figure before you seems calmed with anger, his sickly-black eyes fixated
on the area around him. His wicked smile wrestles the attention of many,
trying to hide the state of his condition with his deadly charm. His body
sags unnaturally upon his bones, the skin stretched in some areas and lax in
others. Its almost as if underneath his shell lies something completely
different....beneath his skin seems to be a growing darkness, as if a black
mist beneath moves frantically around looking for the remainder of his soul.
His clothing is rich and foreign, unknown to most with it's dark fashion.
Rubies line his claw-like fingers, their glimmer a strange attracting
annoyance - as if they desired your attention. Looking closer you notice...

The Journey that took no steps

The journey was the same,
the mission always apparent,
but this time had changed,
for something was different.

I had heard the same blasphemies,
I had walked the same paths,
I drank away my entertainment,
I never appreciated His wrath.

The Curse was uttered again,
something said over and over,
little did I know,
this time I was now sober.
The words rang true,
clarity was now mine,
the darkness was true humor,
and it would anger the divine.

How else does a man snicker at murders?
How else does a man laugh at rapes?
How else does a man chuckle at madness?
Humor is evil, entertainment is what life makes.

I have walked the Inferno countless times,
Trying to return back to my home town.
This journey was different for He planned it,
knowing to return I would learn something profound.

I took no steps,
I would learn this alone,
it was the darkness I would accept...
Vadante Dis was now following home.

Chapter 2

The Tantalizing Truth with Trepidation

The time has come for all to know,
a secret story with it's cover all blown,
the beginning of Vadante...
and the story of his trip home.

The devils converged, indeed this was rare,
they convened in the Court in the City of Despair.
Along the walls flew harpies screeching their curse,
until the clouds parted above with a gigantic burst!
The Devil, Himself, came and rested on the wall,
the frost from his wings caused the harpies to fall.
Silence covered the crowd, waiting on His reaction,
would this poor fool feed His great satisfaction?

A ruby-hilted gavel from Asmodeous slammed loud,
he ordered "Bring him in!" practically barking at the crowd.
A strange being, not mortal, nor demon, nor devil,
stood bonded in chains, his grin just zestful.
"You've got once chance," said the Judge to someone familiar,
"Explain why you break into the city, with that blind humor."

"My name is Vadante, and I am perfectly jealous.
I may be stupid and dim to be this over-zealous.
But I am drawn to the beings with such power and awe,
where every citizen of Thera is always drawn.
I am no Villager, no Imperial, no Outlander to boot,
I tire of the world so I come here to salute.
My heart is not evil, nor good as you know,
I'm just greedy right down to my simple core.
I will bow if need be, I will do as I'm told,
I just may feel bad if you ask my soul to be sold."

The roar began to grow, the Court was a riot,
until His wings began beating which brought about silence.
"You humor me, Vadante, and your wish I will coddle,
but I will put you into the body of meakly mere mortal!
Come once you're ready, bring that humor you best,
or I will eat you alive and I never jest."

Suddenly Vadante stood a man whose mind was dreary,
how could he get his job done with this strange mortal body!
But the quest has begun, let the world form their opinion,
about this tourist of Hell that was suddenly on his mission.

The time has come for all to know,
if you seek the Devil, "follow Vadante" is your motto.

From gutter to palace

With a tale likely Heavenly

my first breath's long gone
but I've got three more to sell.

On the wine and the women,
is my silver mainly spent,
yet with more gold to spare,
alas, my soul's nearly spent.

So watch and bear witness to
a life without decree,
where a damned tongue will burn with glee,
where a naked fool with insult and flee,
and where the star's all his own,
