16829, [OUTLANDER] Godhren Mentosophil the Seeker of War

Godhren Mentosophil the Seeker of War
DescriptionA tall blue skinned man with an imposing presence. His twelve foot height is gaunt and skeletal as though he has suffered many rigors. He moves with an impulsive clumsiness more common to a young child than one of his stature. Long, tightly plaited dreadlocks in shimmering hues ranging from dark purple to emerald green glisten in light as they cascade down his back to his waist like a frozen waterfall in twilight. His beard is shimmering with the same colors as his hair, and is in a single long plait that continues down his chest to his belly. A large hook of a noose, thin lips, and high cheekbones surround two bright violet eyes that peer out beneath a single bushy eyebrow. You realize:

16850, Godhren's Role Chapter 9
Posted by Death_Angel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
RoleChapter 9 Godhren Added Thu May 31 22:10:07 2007 at level 27:Godhren grew up in a poor situation (story to follow later). Godhren believes that the natural, healthy cycles of life and death have been altered for the worse by institutionalization built on top of agriculture. There is nothing wrong with working sustainably with the world, but evils such as large war, poverty, famine, do not occur for the hunter gatherer in full empathy with his surroundings, living sustainably. The freedom of mind and body Godhren believes necessary for the good of all is possible only in the freedom that could be brought to life if Thar-Eris were fully awakened and all were joyful participants.

RoleChapter 8 Copper Added Thu May 31 22:11:52 2007 at level 27:Godhren has decided that the copper the spirits bestow upon sacrifice is not mined, but a gift from the gods. Therefore, it is not necessarily evil and can be used for such purposes as trail markers.

RoleChapter 7 A guidance from the spirits. Added Fri Jun 1 11:33:02 2007 at level 28:One day, Godhren was meditating at the bottom of the sea, as was his wont, when he received his first direct relevation from the spirits he revered and beseeched. Meditating on his beliefs, he realized the time had come to take an active role in making the Dream a reality. The Dream was his cherished dream of having all people in freedom in joyous communion with with an awakened Thar-Eris. His role in taking the first step in the Dream was clear: he must teach those capable of communion and eliminate those whose nature make them incapable of sharing the Dream. Now wiser and stronger than he had been before, he resolved to find the Sunwarden again and determine if he could not pursue the Dream within the community of freedom fighters of Thar-Eris.

RoleChapter 5 Jukus Added Sun Jun 3 13:47:52 2007 at level 32:Having met and first mistrusted Jukus, Godhren quickly realized he was staunch ally. After relentless mistrust and insults, Jukus saved Godhren from being trapped in the depths with the sahuagin, at no small cost and risk to himself. Since then, they have become fast friends and allies. Godhren wishes to to redeem Jukus, and restore him to the favor of the Ancients. Indeed, how can Godhren teach the Dream to the world if he can not even redeem a willing ally who shares his beliefs? To this end, Godhren began attempting to set an example for Jukus, nudging him gently to more proper goals, such as reclaiming the totem from the from the Vanquisher instead of slaying a passing orc. Godhren also showed Jukus his ritual of collecting coin and making large ritual sacrifices in the hopes that enemies are redeemed to the Ancients. It is a slow process, but Godhren must start learn how to teach the Dream, and what better way than to help redeem a friend?

RoleChapter 4 Kordaf Added Wed Jun 6 14:21:51 2007 at level 34:Godhren attempted to speak with Kordaf about the Dream. He was met with great distrust and suspicion, initially, which was resolved when Godhren realized Kordaf could not see him because Thar-Eris sheltered him. Once this hurdle was passed, Kordaf asked Godhren if there was a way to avoid antipaladins and their sleep spell, which gave Godhren a perfect opportunity to talk about the reasons and advantages of joyous communion with Thar-Eris. Godhren was shocked to see how tightly the bonds of had shackled one of his own kind. Kordaf was initially arguing that cities and money were civilization, and that humans would be animls without them. Godhren, after long debate, helped Kordaf realize that a true civilization involves culture and wisdom, and certainly the men of the men had civilization as well, even if they lacked cities. Divested of this reason, Kordaf asked why a metal dagger was usable but a metal coin was not. Godhren explained that the symbolic link was the issue, not the metal of the item. That the Empire could not exist without coin and the necessary institutions that support it, but that the elves of Darsylon, closer in some ways to harmony with the Light and Thar-Eris, would have a chance to retain their civilization. Divested of all reasons, Kordaf simply became irrationally insistent, then concluded the conservation was irrational and left the discussion.
Godhren was aghast the lure of greed and slavery was so strong in those of his own kind. He decided to think more deeply on what would be required to teach them freedom.
After all, how could he teach confused humans if he could not even teach warriors dedicated to the Light of the virtue of Thar-Eris, to make them see past their irrational philosophies of slavery?

RoleChapter 3 A dark triad in the Emerald Forest. Added Tue Jun 12 17:32:43 2007 at level 38:Godhren came along to find a ranger, and two village applicants, one a dark elf warrior, and one a svirfneblin, about to begin to wreak havoc on the dryads and sprites of the Emerald Forest. He also noticed that the applicants seemed to be more interested in blood of the dryads than the blood of the necromancer lurking about. than that of the magi. He tried to interest them in the Dream of freedom and bounty for all, but they were not interested in either that, nor in staying their hands against the dryads. Therefore, to protect the forests, Godhren called upon Thar-Eris to allow them to feel the determined, so they left off despoiling the Emerald forest and left for elsewhere.

RoleChapter 2 Fighting alongside Outlanders Added Wed Jul 18 11:14:54 2007 at level 50:Godhren has died and failed too many times fighting alongside other other outlanders. When he fights alongside Xinrithil, they are in harmony because each does his best and no one expects more or different from the other than the other will actually do. With other outlanders who do not share this harmony of how many individuals can combine their efforts without losing their freedom, Godhren has decided their lack of wisdom means Godhren should fight according to his best judgement, and not charge in at their word. Godhren is a man, not an army, and this is as it should be.

RoleChapter 1 Chiril's conversion stirs Godhren to action Added Sat Jul 28 00:19:05 2007 at level 51:Godhren had long known the Dream of the Return could only truly be accomplished in the hearts and minds of those who move Thera.
Chiril's conversion forced him to realize that the Teachings of the Ancients, despite his success, must be spread further into the cities by word if the Dream would be advanced. He spoke to Xinrithil about it, who agreed that Godhren's actions showed he was one of them regardless if he went for for a time in the cities to spread the teachings.
Resolved, Godhren decided to meditate before embarking on his new course.

Thu Jun 7 08:23:50 2007 by 'An Immortal' at level 35 (64 hrs): An Immortal added 500 exp for: Diary type additions to role, but written well.
Sun Jun 10 19:02:05 2007 by 'An Immortal' at level 37 (83 hrs): An Immortal added 1000 exp for: Giving him a little bit of Imp love on a defense. Granted it was two lower level guys against him and the spirit, but, he did do the right thing to get one of them dead and the other out of there.
Sun Jun 10 19:02:54 2007 by 'Lyristeon' at level 37 (83 hrs): Of course, I would have doubled it up if he would have chased the other guy down and finished the job.
Tue Jul 10 10:11:34 2007 by 'Twist' at level 43 (144 hrs): Godhren's in ugruk lair when Vrugdash the orc chief comes knockng at the Huntress. Godhren: This ugruk will pursue me unless I defeat him, then I come to your aid.
Tue Jul 10 10:12:44 2007 by 'Twist' at level 43 (144 hrs): No other outlanders on - totally for the benefit of any Imms watching who think negatively of him not running to the Huntress. Dude, Orc had 8 levels on you and a full hoard. You don't even have legacies yet. It's good that you
Tue Jul 10 10:13:46 2007 by 'Twist' at level 43 (144 hrs): are smart! Don't let him dictate the fight. BUT, don't make a lame-ass excuse that some mob is going to track you all the way from Ugruks to Prosimy. Just don't go!
Sat Jul 28 01:59:35 2007 by 'Lyristeon' at level 51 (229 hrs): This guy is obviously new to the game, but, he is doing a pretty good job overall. A few mistakes here and there, but, for the most part is consistently solid for Outlander.
Thu Aug 2 09:28:58 2007 by 'An Immortal' at level 51 (254 hrs): An Immortal added 1000 exp for: Gave him his last name and title because as a newer player, he really has busted his ass and I have to give him some Imp love for that.
