Description

Tall and stern, the arial before you moves with the grace
and elegance of his kin, though his movements are noticibly
more deliberate and patient than his avian bretheren. His
eyes are the colour of aged amber, their gleam hinting at
a sharp wit and a light heart. Beneath these two gleaming
orbs, rests a long and prominent black beak, glossy and
bright as if polished daily. This arial possesses a
distinctive brown-speckled white plumage, reminicent of a
bird of prey's. A hawk, or perhaps a falcon. His arms and
armor possess a slight greenish tinge to them, as if they
had been dyed to allow for greater ease in blending in with
the wilds. A thick, claw-scarred falconer's arm-brace is
strapped to his left forearm, currently unoccupied.

Chapter 1

Many have asked "Why do you refer to your hunting falcon
as 'brother'?". The simple answer is that my hunting
falcon IS my brother, Velsaere, as I shall explain now,
in this, my first entry.

Our story brings us back many years, to my fourteenth
summer of living, where my brother and I were hunting
wild goat upon the mountains below the city of my kin.
We were gifted with a certain degree of success, that
not only filled our sacks, laden our packs, and burdened
our backs,but also left quite a bit of meat to spare.
Our overestimation of our ability to carry various dead,
edible animals led to a certain dilemma; we could not
carry all of it home!

Thankfully, we were spared from the wasteful evil of
leaving some of it behind (it was a long flight) by
a rather curious, yet unassuming hiker who called out
his desire to purchase some of the excess game. We
immediately agreed, not believing our good fortune,
yet this fortune soon soured and turned to ill luck
whence this 'hiker' decided that we were close enough
to experiment upon. Throwing off his magical glamour,
he appeared to be a knight of some sort, though not
one of any order I knew of, though upon later reflection,
I know him to be a dark-knight, an 'anti-paladin'.

It would seem that this specific demonic-dabbler had a
penchant for formulating new spells and variations of
existing spells that he would test upon unwary victms.
Doing so to my brother, his blade glowed with a sickly
light, as he, shortly put, clove my brother in twain.
From Velsaere's broken shell rose a light, which was
captured within the dark-knight's blade, to be directed
at my hunting falcon. The white light that was my
brother's essence then left the fiend's blade, and
entered my hunting falcon, Felbis.

Who then rose up and pecked the hell out of him.

The anti-paladin slipped off the cliff we were doing
business on, and had a nasty tumble down some rather sharp
rocks, to vanish magically before I could get a proper arrow
into his head.

I will know that foul man by the scars on his face.
